They probably hung up on you because they were as bored hearing about your superstitious cult as the rest of us would be.

They just called me too but no one spoke.
As a Christian, when I speak to them, I rebuke the spirit of scam and deception and they hang up!

Just received a call from Mike with heavy accent claiming to be calling for some construction Co.  The connection was really terrible with lots of interference.  No doubt it was an overseas person using a fake # making spam calls.  I told him he's breaking the law as I'm on "Do Not Call" list & hung up immediately.

For the last few days i getting calls from this number, as soon as I pick up the other person ends the call without saying anything.   I made an attempt to call,  ends the calls before start ringing.   I am wondering who is calling or what is the reasons of these calls??

This time it was an east indian guy who claimed to be from Microsoft when I told him I didn't own a computer (ha ha) and have not owned a computer for 15yrs so why would you be calling me, furthermore Microsoft does not call people, this information is easily found out by looking on their website, then he started to get creepy, asking my age, am I single, so I hung up. people like this are sick in the head.

Our family just received our 3rd call from 416-362-9842. They knew my mothers name and our full address. He threated to bomb our house if we did not pay them $200.00. He claimed they were Pakistani and responsible form "Bombing America". He suggested that if we could bomb America, don't you think we could bomb your house. He also stated that they had satellite guided bombs and the GPS coordinates for our house. He said that if want to save your house and your family you will pay us. We attempted to bait them into offering further information that would incriminate themselves. we asked how we should get the money to them. They refused to provide any solid indication of how we should coordinate that. I was able to record about 90% of the call. We called the police immediately and they opened an investigation. I gave them the recording and they suggested that this is a very common international scam that is done through "proxy hub" phone numbers that make the call appear local, but is actually coming from overseas. Anyway, we were encouraged by the police to not stress about it. Its strictly a money scam and of no real threat. They said that if the individual(s) call again, to just continue to hang up on them and not engage with them.

Got a call talking about how they were getting messages about my corrupted computer (said to look at eventvwr) and OMG! Look at all the error messages! Let our Windows Technician log on to your PC and clean it up for you!

I don't think so. I actually told him that I needed to hang up and check credibility and he could call back tomorrow if this wasn't a scam. Will be interesting if they call back.

Not sure who it was as I did not answer the phone as caller ID said unknown.

Got a call today from a man with an Indian accent saying he is from Bell Canada saying he had a promotion for me.
Told him I have ever thing with bell and don't need anything more...

They said they were from Bell Canada promotions, to offer me a special for home phone, TV & Internet.  Call display doesn't indicate anything about Bell and when questioned, they just said they are promotions.  I said I think it's a scam and hung up.

Yup, that is what I got when I picked it up, dead silence then Goodbye!

Phoned them back so I could hang up on them but no answer!

Again with the all the money we pay Bell Canada for service why aren't they on top of this s***?

Just got a call from them, claiming there is a problem with my computer when I connect to the internet (actually, he said their server) and said they'll put me through  to  a technician to fix a problem. When I told them there is nothing wrong with my computer he persisted with the same hard to understand mumbo jumbo with a heavy Indian accent so, I hung up.

They said they were calling from Rogers promotions for an $88 deal for my internet/TV and phone.  I suggested they were a scam so I hung up.

They said they were calling from Rogers promotions.  I said how come it doesn't ID as Rogers then?  They said they weren't from the billing dept.  When I suggested they were a scam they hung up.

I am wondering who is calling this number serval times and hang on the phone and when I call this number is not in service!

Please tell them to take my nomber from their mailing list

The damn government need to put a stop to this crap...called daily saying he is from Microsoft and my computer is infected and that i need to follow these step..so i ask him how much money he need to scam from me and to go get a real job and he is lucky he wasn't in front of me i would have fix his software for him...

I got a call from a telemarketer.  We always get calls even though we are not on the do not call list.  It is annoying

Just called tonight from this number - several times.  When I picked up, a man with a very strong Indian accent said his name was Michael and that he was calling from the Ministry of ____ - I couldn't decipher! I asked several times for him to repeat and he hung up and called again - at which point I didn't answer. SCAM!!!!

Totally. Just got a call from my boyfriend in thailand.

First thing that threw me off was the "Ontario number" listed on caller ID. He called from an "international call centre" so it's gotta be wired through a bogus long distance encryptor or whatever. Very messed up.

Call the Canadian anti fraud centre at 1-888-495-8501 or email them at info@antifraudcentre.ca

I'm a techie myself and they probably think that they can teach us something or hoax us or something. It will back fire eventually. These people will get nailed.

You can also try *57 after one of you hang up. It's the Call Trace feature. Then you can escalate it to the cops. Take care and all the best in the new year.
