what is this BYOD VOIP, I'm with Bell  thks

They claim to be from the kidney foundation and want clothing or household items for donation.  I told them I already donated to my LOCAL charity and they quickly hung up.  They cannot be added to the DNCL because the call from random numbers that aren't associated with one specific area.  So they are untraceable for the government.  I called them back because I answered the phone, it went quiet for a minute and then they hung up, she claimed it was a glitch in the system and that it would be resolved shortly.  I asked to be taken off the list and asked her verify the information she had on file with the phone number etc.  Hopefully they won't call again.

yes they are legit, I donate things to them all the time.

They call me severl times a day, I'm on a do not call list so this spammer is calling from outside Canada using a Bell hub number. They do not put their name on the call display. They phone at hours and days which are illegal for soliciting The pitch sounds phoney and it comes from someone with a thick foreign accent. Everyting about this smells like a con. I reported the number to the police.

If they are legit, then why don't they have caller ID when they call?

I recieved this 416-116-1620 calls few times these days , I have answered " do not call please " but they still make calls !! Too Bad !!

How do I get them to stop calling me?  Get repeated phone calls with nothing on other end.

yup , traced the # to Karachi ,Pakistan..!!!!! Come on , do Something .. i think it is more to find / study :occupancy status of home owners...hangs up on pick up..!!

As I said in an earlier post, I highly doubt this is really "Recycling Matters" or "The Kidney Foundation" who is harassing people because the area code that shows up on the Caller ID is local, but the ring is long distance.  That is a sure sign the number has been spoofed because I have dealt with "Recycling Matters" in the past and they do not call 3 or 4 times a day.. Charities are exempt from the DNC list but, if you ask to be removed from their calling list, they must, and usually do, comply.

Have had this number three or four times a day for the last week. Last night I picked it up on the first ring and it was dead with just a click thirty seconds later. When I try to call  back it is always busy??

Another call just had people laughing and talking but they would not talk to me?

Normally morning and evening, appeared like someone was trying to monitor if we were home or not??

I have to wonder if someone is spoofing the telephone number of "Recycling Matters" (which is a legitimate organization) because the phone number is local, yet the ring was long distance.  I just got a call and, because the local area code didn't match the long distance ring, I just answered and immediately hung up.

Received a call today with no one answering after two times saying Hello.  Then you get some person who stumbles on his English.  He is not from Recycling because I have had real calls from them and it shows up on your display.  This call shows unknown.  Why can't something be done to stop these people who constantly call during the day?  People at home have better things to do than be bothered continually by these calls. It does not matter if you are on the Do Not Call List, they still get through.

Receive calls from this number on a daily basis with no message left and when the call is answered it is dead quiet. AS per the posts on this number when I do a reverse search it appears to be a company called "Recycling Matter". I would like them to stop this calling as it is very disruptive, especially when they do not speak

Called looking for clothing for kidney foundation I knew he was a scammer hung up.

They keep calling and calling and calling.  Even when you ask them not to call or when you tell them they are one the do not call list.  Finally after three calls today I told them I was reporting them and they needed to stop these calls because I was on the DNCL....otherwise I would sue them.  Think that will have any effect?

I just got the call today at 1:02pm and they said they were from Community Living but the person on the other line wasn't speaking clearly so I asked if they could repeat who they are, they hung-up on me. If this was a real business or a charity they wouldn't be so shady about who they are and answer my question. If you call about a charity please be ready to explain yourself rather then hang-up on people when they ask. I also tried calling them back but I got a busy signal instead.

Whatever happened to DNCL ?..

Keep getting phone calls from this number. Once I pick up and introduce myself, someone hang up immediately. Is somebody trying to find out who is home and at what time?

Recycling Matters is a legit company, but they are not making any friends by repeatedly calling again & again.

I got a call from 416-446-1620. They didn't say anything on the phone when I picket it up and answered it. Then they hung up the phone at their end. The phone is listed to Recyling Matters, a firm in Toronto that picks up old clothes etc. I am convinced that the caller is a rogue telemarketer.

Almost all charity's use outside company's to solicit for them they simply don't have the time or manpower to do it themselves

This is a legitimate charity ..you can leave books etc., on your doorstep and they pick  them up ..I have seen their truck..

To Helen, just because you have donated in the past does not make them legitimate, in any event I have some money in a Nigerian Bank and need your help to get the money out of the country, can you help Billy Bob?

Companies like these are absolutely disgusting.   They call all the time asking for clothing donations so they can resell for a "Profit!"

A small portion of the proceeds are donated, but this is used as an excuse to call themselves a charity.  So this is no different than us donating, but we do not misrepresent ourselves to earn sympathy for money.

Real charities do not lie or hide their phone numbers.

I hope they have to show the complete name next time, then people will help.

It's disturbing that they call buy don't have courtesy to talk.
