I have just had a call from this - unknown - number, to play a recorded message about "in accordance with national policy". Looks like peddling around scam.

Its about time the poice start cracking down on these goofs instead of working on their speeding ticket quotas.

416-477-2806 was on my display. Didn't pick up.

I got the call from 4164772806 too. I did not pick up. Why they can get easily to call people?

I just got a call from this number and the message said if i have more than $10,000 in debt...Where do they get our numbers from???

This is one of the "reduce your credit card interest rate" scams that typically originate from the USA. Interesting that a Toronto number is now playing this game. They use the typical tactic of telling you to press 1 to "take control of your debt" or press 2 to be removed from their calling list.
No sense in pushing either button - we all know there is no legitimate company or service behind these calls and it's just a bunch of fraudulent w***es wasting our time.
If you see this number come in, just ignore it. You will get an annoying voicemail but that's still better than being subjected to the skanks running this scam.
Sure wish we could find the people who ran these and blow up their homes. That would be good.

Just got a call from this number too, I missed the call, but now that I see it here I know it is some kind of telemarketer.  If anyone picks up let us know what they are trying to sell.

A bunch of f****ards trying to get you to give them money as some sort of 'debt conciliation' thing. In other words, scammers.

Got a missed call message from this number 416-277-2806 not a number I know.

Got a call. They said "congradulations on taking the first step to claim your prize ..."

Ringed for about a second then missed call. Didnt leave a voicemail this time. I received a call from this number before about debt consolidation or something.

This number just called my cell phone. Luckily I had it on vibrate as it rang for quite awhile and I did not pick it up - I don't have voice mail on my cell.

This number has called me several times before and sometimes their schpeal runs onto my answering machine. It is telemarketing spam, which is very unwelcome on my private unlisted cell phone.

If the party responsible should ever read this post - please know that I quite deliberately will NEVER use your service, your phone calls are harrassing and unwelcome.

Just received one from this number a couple of minutes ago.  Something about a national debt crisis.  Didn't listen to the message.  This is about the 4th or 5th time I've had this recorded message over the past month (and on a co. mobile)

Annoying and harrassing.  Calling directly on work line. How did they manage that. Off with their heads.

Just called my phone too, listed as a 416 number and rang like it was long distance.  Didn't bother to answer as I get annoying calls just like it throughout day.  They didn't bother to leave a message.

Some kinda scam about consolidating finances and debt collecting. The company lets it ring for quiet a while before giving up if you don't have voicemail.
