This is a scam. The check is fraudulent.

Well I responded to an add through Simon Erin just a couple of days ago. He told me I would receive weekly pay of $550 and he was going to send me a check for weekly pay of office equipment I would need. I was suppose to be doing personal assistant work for him for housing contract work. He said he as in Dubai right now working on site. All he ever asked me for was my name phone # & address. Well low and behold I got a check for $3800 from him today. Trusto Bank on check. Haven't cashed it yet. Suspicious, also name R. Lizzy on address out of Pittsburgh, PA. Waiting on his next instructions but probably a scam.

I to was scammed from this Eric Simon and I was wondering what happened after you cashed the check cause im going through the same thing now and would like a heads up.

the guy did the same thing to me. what did you do about it?

This guy also goes by the name Michael Brown and uses the number 647-831-3973. I know because the cheque he sent had 416 number XXXed out but still discernable and the 647 one below.
He offered to buy the car we had for sale and sent through a phony cheque for more than twice the amount agreed. Same story -- he's a 'businessman' sending vehicles overseas, doesn't need to see the vehicle prior to purchase. I called the police.
Don't let him take you in. Scummy Scammer.

Si vous pouvez me fournir ces détails, la vérification sera envoyé à vous immédiatement, puis une fois qu'il autorise, je viendrai chercher le véhicule. J'attends votre réponse, merci et bonne journée agréable.

posted a car on line got an email with an offer to buy my car and he would send me a cheque for it if iprovide him with info. the give away was his tronto area code and the fact that he never phoned me or wanted to look at the car before buying it. He also said he was shiping autos over seas.

So a guy named Greg Davis emailed me about my car for sale,Said he would send me a bank draft and it should be there in the next couple days..I emailed him back and threatened him if he for any way trys to scam me Ill rip his head off he emails me back saying are you insulting me..So anyway cheque came today for 9,850 lol I went to the cibc here in calgary and they said it looked legit but its a fake! and I have a 415 826 8949 Toronto right guys? i thought about calling the UPS we need to catch this guy! This is recent oct 26 2009!!

I got a similar email for the guy Eric Simon. Thought it was fishy cause his email is greg222davis@live.ca
He also signs the email as Greg Davis after he states in the email his name was Eric Simon.
I said Id set up a time for him to see the car but then i got the business man email shiping s*** overseas.

This idiot has forged cheques with our company name on them.
I have just found out that he has now changed his name to Davis Paul and his new phone number is 647-832-3276

I feel sorry for people that have actually cashed the bogus cheques and will now be out the money and the item they were selling. It is very unfortunate that the police are not the least bit interested in charging this guy as he probably will not stop defrauding people.

I just had the same thing happen to me! Selling a car on kijiji and buddy replies with the exact same message as has been posted. sends VIA ups a cheque made for more than double the asking price. I called the number he gave me and he answered... he told me that is was a mistake made by his secretary.. that he told her to write 2 cheques, one for me and one for the shipper. He told me to go ahead and cash the cheque and that i could give him the balance when he came to get the car. Right from the beginnning i had a bad feeling about this... i knew something was fishy!! Im so glad i found this site! This guy needs to be exposed!! Is there nothing law enforcement can do?????

I checked the routing IP and it is in the Netherlands.  This is a huge scam.  I told him I would only accept cash and never heard from him again.

Exact E-mail as M on June 30/09. Sent a reply stating that if he was a business man as he said, than he wouldn't have a problem giving me the asking price for my vehicle. Have not got a response in four days..

He has forged copies of our company cheques and more than likely copies of other cheques that he has passed successfully. The fact that someone sends you a cheque and you are able to cash it does not necessarily mean that the cheque is legitimate.
Accepting a cheque from someone that you do not know especially suspicious transactions, over payments, buying vehicles site unseen is not smart.

I had the same e-mail.  You can tell by the typing its a god damn immigrant.  I threatened his life, told him to stop the b***s*** or I would personally fly from Calgary to Toronto to chop up his jamaican a**.

That story I just read about that Scott Martins and the phone number is exactly what I'm dealing with now. Exact same story and exact same wording aswell.

I rreceived an email about a vehicle I was selling online the person offers me a lower amount than i asked i accepted his offer and then received an email:         The cheque did arrive and was made out for more than double my asking price ... when i called and asked him about this he said he'd call me in a week!! I contacted the company from where the cheque was from and they confirmed it was fraud!!!
