You know, I had a second interview at this place sometime at the end of july. I showed up and the office was closed!
I don't understnad why they would schedule me in for an interview and not even have anyone there? waste of time. They're not called helpin hands n e more. its something like omni. scam!
shanee 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
I have an interview tomorrow but now I'm skeptical. They sent me an email saying I should bring my resume and 2 professional references. I don't even think they need the references..they just probably put that to sound legit...
j park 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
me too =s they told me it was 4101 steeles avenue west but that leads me to a intersection.
Chanel 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
No, no. So I went to the second interview and they really just do fundraising events. They're not a scam, trust me.
I started last week and it's been great so far. Like it's been only training but so far it's been good.

john 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
hey i just started with the company not too long ago... i was also skeptical when i read the messages before but i really needed a job so i went to the interview. i got hired as a fundraiser for red cross and its been great so far. ive been working for 2 weeks after training and the environment is great. i thought u guys might like to know.
Sarah 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
IS EVERYONE HERE RETARDED!!! its an office building! just search 4101 steeles ave w. without a suite number and you'll see how many different companies come up in the same office building.
anywayssss i was there today and i loved it, the owners are really cool laid back young ppl, cant be more then 30. I went to a fundraising event with them on behlf of red cross and had so much fun. i start there next week. Cant wait...hope this helps all u skeptics!
shelly 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
I worked their last summer but I had to quit cause they don't offer part time and I'm at Ryerson. They are legit though, and I got my friend a job there too, but she's not there anymore either. They basically just do the fundraising for the Red Cross but they don't collect cash, just like pledges, and we actually went to some seminar at the Red Cross office in Ottawa, I guess so we could see they actually work for the Red Cross. There are a LOT of scam fundraising companies in Toronto though and I know for a fact that Blitz Marketing is one of them, so be careful, ask to speak directly to the charity if you're skeptical! But Helping Hands is legit, they're still at the same location with the same managers and the same phone number and I'm pretty sure I'll work there again this summer.

so i saw an ad for this company too and i applied to it, but i agree it sounds REALLY sketch. what kind of company doesnt have a legit website? and here we have people telling us they are a fundraising company raising money for the red cross, but in the ad for the job description it said that the company was a "promotional marketing firm" and that they needed people who would be working with "sales and marketing" and "assisting with new product launches". what products would you need to sell and market if fundraising for the red cross?
Mike 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
Do not go there for an interview. They do door to door and they pay you on commission
Chris 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
They wasted my time. Its door to door and they pay you in commission.
Jake 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
Its a door to door commission job. Pure Scam
audriana 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
the place exists, i went for a job interview a couple days ago. they offered me a second interview for this coming week. i'm told it's going to be 8 hours of me out in the field where they'll be observing me, my work ethic, etc. for those of you who went and are now working there, is this legit? to me it just seems like they want me to work an entire day without pay for the chance of possibly getting a job... let me know!!
g 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
so what actually happened? I'm in the same situation now, and I don't know what to do...is this a legit job? base or commission?
Suppish 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
Going for a job interview tommorow, I'll post on how it turns out.

neel 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
Hi, I also got a call for interview today. Does anyone has idea of what is it for? Did anyone go for the interview yet?
Sonya 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
I was called from this number for an interview for Helping Hands, at the same address mentioned before. But I went, and there is no building with that address!
Tasnia 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
Hey i also got a call from there for an interview
is there actually such a place? should i go?
Sarah 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
i'm almost positive this job is a scam. There's no such thing as Helping Hands and the address, 4101 Steeles Ave West doesnt match up with the name of the company. I got called in for an interview too and I'm not going. I would advise you not to either. these things could be ways for people to set up a time to meet you do god knows what. The whole thing is way too suspicious. There's no company registered under that name with that description, and the phone number and address don't match. Not to mention other people have complained of it.
lol 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
if there is any one there can you tell them to STOP calling everyone!
sunny 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
dude i just got a call from that number as well
has anyone ever gone there? Or is it actually a scam?
Sheryl 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
LOL, I just typed in the phone number in google to find the postal code and saw all of this! I work at Helping Hands, I've only been there for like three weeks but I already got my first cheque and I'm getting my second one tonight! It's not a scam at all, and the building totally exists, I'm there everyday from 1 to 9! Lol ... maybe you need to fix your GPS or something ...
Sarah 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
Sheryl, what do you do at Helping Hands and whats's the address?
keysha 2011-06-06 20:48:59 Unknown
ive got a call there too and i dont remember seeing anything there neither...after seeing all of this i doubt ill go to my interview tomorrow morning since this much people are complaining about it.
