I get two calls also from this number and it leaves an automated message prompting me to call immediately another number about a collection-overdue account. This is a scam that operates to trick people into thinking they have an overdue account that they have to pay, so they give their credit info and are ripped off. Everyone needs to report calls from this number. I'm trying to find out as much as I can about it so I can stop the harassment. Some people say that the operators have told them they are Rogers reps, so be careful. It's fraud. Don't ever give credit info over the phone because you can never be sure who you're talking to.

Keep getting calls from them. Woman says, " I am calling with an important message, hold one moment please." Then they just hang up. One time I got a message like that and the same woman spoke and then some man came on saying, "Hi is Lamar there? Hello?" Then he hangs up. He acted like it was live. Who are these people and what do they want? Who is Lamar anyway?

I also called the 866-526-7794 but did not do the extension 2.  The person who answered was able to transfer me to the person who made the call by referencing my phone number.
"Mr. Tiffin" was calling for Tammy R.  So I explained that I was the building manager and that Tammy R. hasn't lived in the building for at least 2 years, if ever.  He appologized and removed my number.

This is the brilliant CBCL collection agency that calls you even after you paid the amount that was owed. I kept getting calls everyday & evening one month after I paid a 100$ bill directly to them. Obviously space cadets are enlisted there...

I?ve been receiving calls from this company through many different phone numbers with the same-recorded message on my voicemail for two weeks now. I live in BC and at first I thought is was a telemarketer so I?ve been ignoring them. My mother called the number stated in the message today and got nothing but dead air.

So my question is, how do you find out what they want without giving them any info on yourself? As CIN stated above not to give out real name/info, how then can I get them to stop calling or find out what they want?

Canadian bonded credit has many. many, many numbers they use. They also never seem to have the correct persons name for the number they are calling.
Im guessing they are randomly dialing numbers in hopes that someone will give their REAL name and info. Once they have this, they can do a search on you and will know where to find you if they turn up anything.

People, do NOT give your real name and info to ANYONE that calls. There is so much identity theft these days you can't trust anyone.

If someone you deal with wants to get a hold of you for anything important, they can't write a letter.
Be safe and keep you lips zipped :)

Just phoned the number you provided and spoke to Debbie directly.

She informed that they were looking for about 20 different people at my number and that they were goin to put me on the global do not call list and guess what, none of them were me!

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the end of the two years of hell these people have put me through!

The company is a collection agency that operates for different banks and organizations across Canada. They are calling you because they have your numbers listed as numbers of people owing money (that have probably changed their numbers to avoid paying).

They are the Canadian Bonded Credits Ltd. (CBCL) of the iQor corporation.

You can have the phone calls stop by contacting:

Debbie Bilowus
Assistant Vice President, Compliance
800 #  :  888-804-8198
Fax     :  416-753-4894
email :   omb@iqor.com  -or-  ComplaintsforConsumers@iqor.com

I highly suggest voicing your complaints to the company directly.

Also, keep a record of the number of calls you are receiving. According to the Collection Agencies act of Ontario, RRO 1990, Regulation 74: a collection agency may only call between the hours of 7am and 9pm Mon-Sat, 1pm-5pm Sunday. The collection agency may only contact the debtor three(3) times in a seven(7) day period for each creditor on file for that debtor.

Cheers! Good luck!

Yes, the CBCL's telephone provider is listed as "Call-Net Comm." when you do a reverse telephone network. This is a subsidiary of Roger's Communications, and has nothing to do with the company calling you.

In my previous message I listed CBCL as being part of IntelliRisk, but they are now called iQor.

I have been receiving calls from this number.  I did a reverse look-up and it is a land based line from Call-Net Communications.  I have answered but no one is there.  I no longer answer it.  They never leave messages.  They are a scam because I was getting other phone calls from Call-Net Communications a few months ago..the same thing. Today they called three times and the night;s not over yet!!

Watch out for 705-749-5676!!!!

Hi,
I've got helpful info for you all. I have been receiving these calls sometimes twice a day since Aug 2007. It is a collection agency Canadian Bonded Credits Ltd. (CBCL) It is legit, though it seems it has the worst phone record in history.

They were calling me to collect for TD-Canada Trust Bank from a Julie that had listed my number in her bank records, which have not been updated. CBCL is part of a greater corporation, the IntelliRisk Managment Corporation, so I imagine each branch collects for a different agency, and that may be why some of you were told that they were Rogers Communications...

I don't know. I thought it was a total scam, but read more and more about the company and all the fraudulent calls and eventually found a number where I could talk to a person promptly, who was friendly, and she removed me from the dialer.

Call 1-866-526-7794 ext. 2 and tell them that you've been receiving these calls and that they have the wrong number and they'll remove you.

Also, their address is:
1210 Sheppard Avenue East, North York, ON M2K 1E3

Check out this website for links to more info:
http://www.mirabilis.ca/should-be-illegal/canadian-bonded-credits/

Unfortunately they are known to change their number frequently also, so the people you see here, to have complained about the calls are just the tip of the iceberg. I think many thousands of people have been inconvenienced and some have even pursued legal action against the corporation.

Good luck!

I am also receiving automated calls on my cell phone from 416 915 0658 once or twice a day, and this has been occurring since the end of Summer 2007. Any info on this number? I tried calling it back, but was on hold with no feeling that anyone would ever pick up. I believe it is a scam and might call phonebusters to report it.

I just got the call on my cell, and was told it was some credit agency, and that I needed to call some 1-877 number. The message didn't give me time to write the number down, so surprise surprise, I forgot it. Caller ID showed the 14169150658 number. When I tried to call them back I got the same bi-lingual message, then dead air for after a few minutes. It was the same thing when we tried to call them from our home phone (we had our ID blocked, naturally)

I answered the call and wanted to know who was on the other end before saying who I was and got reamed out by the person on the other end who was looking for some money.  They were rude and ignorant and so of course I didn't tell them who I was and hung up.  If they are a legit collection agency, they would do better to be more polite so the person answering the phone will listen better  and they could get some answers.  But with all the different responses people are stating on this number, how can you believe these people are not scammers???

Yes, they call and call and call 3x day at 8:26, 11:26 and 2:26. Telus says it's a scam (duh) but they are powerless b/c "we can't control who uses the phone system" B*LLS%#T!!!! If they woulds stop the selling of their directories, people would not have to put up with this invasion of service. It's a bloody nuisance and there must be lobby group we could start to pressure gov't to make stricter rules about this kind of fraud/scam/telephone crap...

these pie holes call two or three times a day and when I do answer there is a dead silence for 5 or more seconds and then some j***-off presses the play button on some bloody tape machine. They don't even make an effort to ask for whoever they are trying to reach. I have a new phone number and I am getting really annoyed by the losers that must have had this number before me, it is definitely time to get a newer (unlisted) phone number. I even called this number back and get some crazy French message answering machine. I wish I could find out who they really are and start calling them all the time.

Just spoke to my cell phone provider-ROGERS- & they advised me how to block the call. Only problem is it's $5 per month to have this service.  I told them about the scam  that this call was from ROGERS and that the caller was asking for $$$ using ROGERS name and so the representative from ROGERS entered the fee as a debit & a credit each month, so I will receive the service for free !!  Don't put up with this intrusion in your life ! You can do something about it, and if enough annoyed customers notify their phone company maybe ROGERS or BELL or whomever will do something about it ....good luck
