We've had several middle of the day calls from this number, but when we pick up no one is there (do they expect you to answer on the first ring???) We, too, are from outside Ontario. I have no idea why they keep calling, but between the repeat calls and the hang-ups they have become a real annoyance.

4:35pm, just received a call from this number as well. It had only just finished the second ring before I picked up the handset to check the caller ID - which simply read 'NSD' - and midway through the 3rd ring, it stopped. Picked up to verify that whoever was calling had hung up, and sure enough a dial tone was present. Bloody annoying.

I just received a package at my work with this phone number as the client/customer number for a package sent by Directory Distribution, Yellow Pages Group, 280 Hillmount Road, Unit 5, Markham, Ontario, L6C 3A1.  That's how I came across these complaints.  I'm trying to figure out if this is really from Yellow Pages or one of those scams where they send you cd's as business directories and you get an invoice a month or so later for a couple of hundred dollars.

Received one of these calls this morning (Mar 26/08). Picked up the phone and the caller (lady) said she was from Yellow Pages and just checking to ensure i had received my Yellow Pages phone book. I told her i had, but after hanging up felt that this was an odd phone call!!!

Did a reverse phone number look-up on this number and here's what i got....

Annoying. They called at 9 a.m. today (it's Saturday!) and of course didn't leave a number.

I have had my phone number for about 8 years but the telemarketing/scam calls are getting worse this past year -- at a rate of about 5 to 10 per week (I don't answer them). I did have my number published publicly at some point several years ago and once you get on a list, you can't get yourself off of it. I'm changing my number as soon as I can.

that number just called me today around 4pm, I was out but they left a blank message, like they forgot they were on the phone and just some rustling sounds then a doorbell then hung up

It is very possible that it is NSD calling to spot check that you received your telephone directory. My husband does deliveries for them and they will call people at random to spot check the route - to make sure that you received your phone book; that it was bagged and correctly placed not thrown in the front of the driveway. If their are any problems , the carriers have to correct them before they get paid.You will not get an invoice and should not be charged for a phone book 1 per household. Some times with businesses they may need a special order or delivery of extra books.

Got a call at 9:00 am. They left no message.

It's like this caller from this no. 1-416-987-6034, has to give me a call every week........this no. is listed on the White Pages, Ontario. Many reports have been relayed, but HOW COME THIS CALLER PERSIST ON CALLING ME!

Don't even answer this number and it will go away :)

just got a call from that number.. asking me if i received the yellowpages..
which i haven't however i didnt like when he asked me for my address "just to confirm"... i really don't care for yellow pages but if they are the real company they should know who they send it to...

totally unprofessional..

I have had 12 calls from this number in the past two weeks.
No one is there when I answer, or when I call the # back.
Infuriating.

I got a call, and was told they were calling to see if I had received my Yellow Pages Directory. Johnny CallCentre was shocked when I said "no." He told me if it hasn't arrived witin 2 weeks to call 310-BELL.

I guess he only knows how to call people at supper time (5:03 pm) and bother them.

I called back, and got a recording telling me the "Call Centre is now closed" and that their hours are 8:30 to 4:30.

If they are closed at 4:30, why am I getting a call at 5:03?

Called at 4:45 pm - I let my answering machine pick it up, left no message.

I got a call from this number around 6pm no one was there

Got a call at 10:38 AM , caller ID: NSD - missed it and no one left a message

Got a call 3:35 pm - lady just asked "did you receive the new yellow pages phone book to your door or did you pick it up" - I said picked it up just for the hell of it, and that was that.

Got a call at 8:15am - missed it and they didn't leave a message

Called me and asked if I received my Yellow Pages. I said Yes.

Bell Canada redirected me to that number directly since they left no message.
It was issued by Yellow Pages® in Ontario.
As I live in Montreal, I talked to someone at Yellow Pages® in Montreal and asked them why they phoned and left no message.
They told me it was to ask me if I had received the Yellow Pages® Phonebook...: I told them that they should leave AT LEAST a message ( they ARE into the phone business!!! ) and to report that lack of civility to their Ontario Department.

PS: I still don't know what the "NSD" stands for...

Got a call at 9:00 am and at 10:00 am. They left no message.
