1. Don't answer if you don't recognize the number (your parents taught you not to speak to strangers, right?). You won't hurt their feelings ? they have no feelings; they just want your money, credit cards, personal info. In other words they want to ruin your life.
2. Don't call them back - don't assume they'll put you on their "do not call" list. They won't even if they say they will.
3. Don't complain about the number of times they call if you don't use your own (your service's) Block Caller list.
4. Be proactive and responsible by using your own protection. Assume nothing.
5. Get on your phone service's Blocked Caller list - if they don't have one, get one that does. If there's a fee, it's still worth using it for your peace of mind.
6. Don't think the government's Do Not Call list is going to handle it - they won't.
7. Google the number.
8. Add the number to your personal Block Caller list.
9. Get on with your life ? you don't need to answer every phone call.

This number called our house earlier today asking for my husband. Very unprofessional! Also, unwilling to explain whom was calling and why? Gggggrrrr!

Why do you people pick up calls from scammers if you don't recognize the phone number and your caller ID says, "Unknown Caller?" If it was a friend or relative, you'd know who was calling. If it was a business you've used, you'd know who was calling. If you don't know, don't answer - it's that simple. If it's important, the caller would be identified and leave a message.
Don't rely on the Do Not Call List - do your own detective work on the scammer.
Get an address for them or their parent company. Bill them for their abuse of your phone.
Don't answer the phone.
Make a note of the phone number as to time a frequency.
Put them on your Blocked Caller list from your phone service and get on with your life! Not every call needs to be answered immediately!

Autodialer from a pro-Marriage Equality group, looks like they set the pick-up time too low so the system will answer but won't connect you to anything but silence if you pick up too late. Oops!
No worries, though :)

I called the number back - it's for marriage equality in Washington State. No worries.

Got one here too, last night around 18:50 PST. Been added to our system's 'Deny' list as a pre-emptive measure.

Me, too, although they didn't leave a message.
