I answered, but caller hung up their phone.

Didn't recognize the number so didn't answer.  No message left.  Always busy when I call back.

When you get calls like that from a debt collector just LAUGH at them. Ask them to quote the section of the criminal code that your are violating.  They will use whatever tactics it takes to scare you into paying them.  Then tell them that you only wish to be contacted in writing at your home address and that if they do not adhere to that you will be reporting them to the proper authorities.  They'll probably just hang up on you.  Another thing you can do is to ask for the name of their supervisor and ask to speak to the supervisor.  That will also cause a hangup in a lot of cases.
