I also got the same call on May 26. Garbled message. The number he left was to a Magic Jack phone number that had been disconnected. When I called the number he had called from, it went to a very unprofessional voicemail system. The number he used was 301-534-8745. FYI There is a known scam of people calling, posing as DEA agents. The DEA hotline to report this is 877-792-2873.

I also received a voice message on May 15 from someone claiming to be DEA agent Brian Gonzalez and the voice message stated ''my name came up in an investigation that the department was conducting, and that it was urgent that I return his call." Voice message was partially garbled and caller sounded unprofessional.  

I returned call several times to find out what this was all about and each time call went directly into a voicemail message. No other contact.

got the same call said his name was Jerome Johnson I have no dealings with the DEA or anything in relation to them. Said he was calling about an investigation with drugs being smuggled in by me. Truth is I am totally disabled so I cannot fly or even drive, so I knew he was a scam artist I didn't even bother to call back or even let him know that I received his message

I got a phone call/voice message from someone claiming to be DEA agent Brian Gonzalez, & he said he was conducting an investigation & urgently needed to speak w/ me. It was from a 301 number though, but I think it's all a hoax. It wasn't professional at all. I also looked up the number to find several others had been told the same thing & were asked for money to cover fines & court costs. Don't send these people any money! You would think they would come up w/different agent names.

Received a garbled voice mail message on May 3rd at 4:08PM PDT from someone claiming to be an Agent of the DEA wanting to ask questions about a drug investigation. He called himself "Federal Agent Brian Gonzalez" at extension 138. The caller sounded very unprofessional so I Googled the number and found that this is a Scammer looking to extort money from unsuspecting callers. Supposedly calling it a Fine that needs to be paid or charges will be imposed. Charges? For what? I have no idea. But I suppose someone with a guilty conscience may fall for it.

Got a call from this j***off on 4-21-12. A message was left on my voice mail and to tell you the truth I was a little concerned. He said his name was Mike Roberts. He said I was under investigation for illegal drug purchases from the Domician Rep. and if Ididn't send a payment for a fine I would be going to jail. I played along not knowing if this was a scam or not and checked online after I hung up. I got another call from him about an hour later asking me how I was doing with coming up with the $3,800 fine. I told him I'll just go to court instead. He said "OK, you'll have the paperwork in the mail tomorrow". Nothing ever came and never will. Another guy was also involved with him. He said his name was Richard Gibbons, a DA. Hope someone shuts these guys down before they fool somebody.

Received message from supposed DEA agent saying my name came up in a drug investigation. Urgent I call back.  Several months ago I got a similar call  and the "Agent said i helped smuggle drugs in with viagra I purchased on line.  Said I was going to jail unless I paid a $3000 fine.  Very Threatening.  Would come to my house with a search warrant.  I googled the number he called from and found many with similar calls, plus a statement from real DEA that this was a total scam

received an unknown name call from this number didn't answer they left a message about some d.e.a. investigation, my name came up. I have no dealings with them don't want to call them back, don't want anything from them. Will not answer their calls ever.
