I hope you reported this to the police even though no money was exchanged. I wrote about my experience about my grandson supposedly being arrested in Mexico.....all a scam.  The attorney was Stanley Rosen and the phone number was from Canada. The person who was pretending to be my Grandson was also the attorney, Stanley Rosen.  Even though the phone number was from Canada, I believe it was only an answering machine and  and the crooks are operating in the United States.  The Crooks don't want you to know this because the police are less likely to follow-up in a foreign country.

My father received a call saying that his grandson was in jail in Lansing after having a car accident.  They had someone saying he was my nephew talk to my Dad but saying he sounded funny because he broke his nose.  The lawyer told my Dad that they needed $2,500 to get my nephew out of jail and that my nephew was so embarrassed that he didn't want anyone to know especially his parents.  Fortunately, my Dad called me because he did not know how to do a Western Union wire transfer.  I checked the phone number and saw it was from Quebec which made no sense and then I found this site.  The lawyer's name was supposedly Bill Reid.

This is a con, they told me that my son was in jail in Ohio and was involved in a accident that hurt a woman and child who were from Trinidad, and this person calling was a lawyer and could get him out of this trouble for $1500.00. Big scam watch out! The cell number they called from is from Canada.

Scammm do not trust...
