I have been called several times by this number over the past few weeks, and they call several times a day.

They are calling my company, which has no credit cards, not even a bank account. No bills whatsoever. I've called back and they say they are a financial company.

This company keeps calling my cell phone asking for a Veronica. I've told them 7 times in 4 days that they have the wrong number, but they keep calling. How can I report them as abusive?

NCO GROUP, probably a scam company! Don't answer!
| Richardson 2012-03-15 18:46:49 Unknown |
Caller left loud noise and music -no voice contact. Noise left on recorded answer machine. Had I actually answered, the caller may have had a voice response. Caller did not have recogized number so did not answer.

Don't know why the "Bud Hibbs" link didn't work. I'll try again in this post. Otherwise, just cut and paste it in your browser. I think it is one you should see.

Mary,
Before talking with an outfit like NCO, I STRONGLY advise you to educate yourself about how NCO does business, and your rights under the FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA. Learn about "time barred" or "SOL" debt, and the dangers of re-starting the clock on old debt.
These guys play rough. Admit nothing. Do not suggest you will make a payment on an old debt, or in any way acknowledge an old debt, or a debt discharged in bankruptcy. Demand written validation. Do business with them in writing, if at all.
All mail sent to them should be well documented. Certified, Return Receipt, photocopies, etc.,.
Never give them access to your bank accounts, credit cards, or debit cards.
Never pay anything without a written agreement.
If you pay something, use a bank check, or postal money order.
Keep these records for the rest of your life - somehow "records get lost", and some collectors will sell a paid debt to another collector, who then wants you to pay it again.
If you need to take control of your telephone back, see my post here:
