I replied to a add on Craigslist about a home for rent in Indiana when he replied I thought it looked fishy so I called and said how will I get the keys because I am not sending any money before I get the key?! He hung up on me!! Lol seriously I've been renting far to long to believe such a story! How do I report him?

This guy is a fraud.  Wants money up front. Sounded too good to be true.   So just googled number just to discover something very interesting.  A bunch of other people who had the exact same story pertaining to this exact same number.  Now he deleted add from craigs list.  Just talked to him.    Peculiar.  Don't you think?was born during the day.  But it wasn't yesterday,

I just called him back. He asked if I filled out the form. I told him no because he is a fraud. He started laughing, so I cursed him out then hung up.

This guy just called me. This is the second house I've contacted him about. I've contacted the real owners and reported him to craigslist. He's using a magic jack

I just went through this myself, but I was able to discover that this was a scam before I sent any money so thank you for your reviews.

I almost got scammed by this too. I got a long email reply about being accepted far too quickly. (there's no way anyone could type that fast!)

got an email reply about a property on craigslist in Nashville using the above mentioned number, also too good to be true with copy/ paste photos from home sale web site and a pitch about being a missionary and asking for personal info. This is a great forum to help identify scammers!!!

Saw an ad in California for a beautiful 3B 2B newer home for 700.00 a month. Sent e-mail and the same thing as above, he's a missionary going to Malaysia for 4-5 yrs, not in it for the money, will mail documents etc. The house really is for rent, but through a realtor, and it's for 1225.00.....total scam...I'm reporting it to Craig's List and the realtor. Don't even think about doing this......

Found an ad on Craigslist for a home for  $700/month. Woman said she was a missionary living in Malaysia for 4-5 years. We went and looked at the address she provided (before knowing it was a scam) to find that one, it was not a house (condo), and two, it didn't have any of the amenities listed in the e-mail (fenced in yard, etc). Thought it was fishy so I did a google image search to find that the photos they used for the ad were found on other websites for a house for rent in an entirely different state. When we called the number she provided, a foreign sounding man answered and just kept saying, "this is Jennifer's phone," but never put "her" on the line. She wanted a down payment first in order to send keys and lease information. NOPE. They used the name Jennifer Turner from the e-mail alij401@yahoo.com with the name IJ AL on the yahoo account.

That is so true about what you saying. I was just told the same thing not even five minutes ago. He want me to send the money to his secretary that's when red flags went up. I'm glad I continue to see if it was true cause he would've got me for $500.00. Thank y'all so much

SCAM...these houses are usually empty and listed by a real estate. I reported to the real estate agent and Craigslist.

This is a scam. He's NOT renting out any home, he's a scammer who wants to steal your security deposit for the fake home you think you are renting. Western Union fund transfers are irretrievable once it's picked up at the other end. You send him $money, he keeps your money and that will be the last you hear from him. Don't do it. This is a well-known scam.

Hi I looked this home up on craigslist and the man contact me say he lives it of town and is renting a home forcibly 500$ all utilies included (sounds too good to be true huh) well anyway he wants me to send a payment for the keys when I told him I want to see the inside of the house first he then told me give him a down payment by western union and if I don't like the home he will send me my money right back of 200 so he can send the lease and keys ..... Anywho somethings fishy do anybody know this guy or what's this about?
