I just got a call from a gentleman that said he was with Mariz Research and he had been ask by Capital One to do a survey about Fraud on my account. 1st of all why would Capital One have an unknow party to me call me and ask about Fraud on my account but not only that the guy on the phone wasn't even sure how to spell the Company Name that he supposedly worked for. I could see Capital One contacting me is some form or fashion to let me know a Research Company would be calling me but that didn't happen so I wasn't about to give out any information.

I also called the Bank of America to ask if Maritz Research is conducting a survey for them. I didn't call the Fraud Dept - I called Customer Service. Customer Service said that THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MARITZ.  SO THE ANSWER IS "NO". Apparently, Maritz (or whomever they are) is gathering information for some purpose other than to measure BOA's customer satisfaction.

ANYTIME someone calls you and asks to gather information about you, tell them to BUZZ OFF. There's no way to tell who they really are.

You can't even spell customer survey correctly, and you asked the wrong department. Why would the Fraud Department know about the survey, since it would be authorized by someone in management?
http://www.maritz.com/Our-Clients/Client-List.aspx proves you're a liar. Bank of America is on their client list according to that link.

They do, but most people tend to be at work during daytime hours on weekdays. How do they know when a person will be home or not? You're an idiot. Spam is unsolicited advertising in your email inbox. Do Not Call List doesn't apply to market research companies/survey companies. You're just ignorant to who the Do Not Call List applies to. It applies to telemarketers, not market research companies trying to collect survey, political organizations or charities soliciting donations.

Survey
I received an email from Maritz Research, claiming that they are doing research for Bank of America. It asked me to complete a custmer survey- which I never trust. I clicked the link and figured, "Hey, when it starts asking for personal info, I will stop." I clicked the link, and it took me to bankofamericasurvey.com, which is branded with the logo, etc. (I know, not hard to fake). Anyway, on the main page, it says something along the lines of "Please push Enter to take the survey with the password provided"- the website had given a password already filled in (not my own Bank of America password, something like P2T4H164G42 blah blah... etc.) I cliked okay, and it said "Thank you for completing the survey. Please close this window now."

So, I'm thinking that this whole situation is fishy so I call Bank of America (the number listed on the back of my credit card) and asked for the Fraud Department. It turns out that they are NOT having Maritz do market research for them and have never heard of the company. He told me that my account is fine, because I didn't enter my card number, expiration date, personal info (name, address, etc) or my account password. BUT he said it may have given my computer a bad virus. (so far, so good, but it's only been a few minutes).

SO ANYWAY, I just wanted to pass this along and say that Maritz is NOT NOT NOT a contractor for Bank of America, whether they contact you by phone or email.

Called the number back and got a recording identifying company as "merritt's (Merit's?) Research, a market research company. Was given a number 800-864-1070 for an automated system to have my number put on the company's do not call list. Recording said it takes 3 days. Same number called again this evening. Google search could not find the company. I WANT A NUMBER FOR A PERSON SO I CAN ANNOY THE CRAP OUT OF THEM!

Answered the call from Maritz Research. A pleasant-sounding woman asked to speak to my husband regarding his "Bank of America"______ (service?). I asked if it were a "consumer protection program" that she was trying to sell, and her answer was no, it was just a call to determine his satisfaction with the bank. She asked for a more convenient time to reach him.

I called Maritz and asked the rep to supply me info. Wanted to know why all these calls come in and they state many different companies they represent. The rep on the phone gave me the name of a person to voice my concerns to. Her name is Bonnie Murphy, 636-827-1995. Spread this info to as many blog/phone call sites that you can and start returning the favor to these scum by calling the numbers and waste their time like they do to us.
Strength in numbers,

I work for Maritz Research. We are just trying to do a simple survey. You can easily get us to back off and not call again by calling the 1-800# mentioned, or even easier, pick up the phone and do the survey, or ask to be placed on our do not call list. There is no need to be rude to us. Many of us are students trying to work thru school, or single parents trying to keep bills paid. We are not trying to be malicious.

Received a call from this company last night at 8:37 p.m.  Why don't these companies conduct business during normal hours?  I didn't answer, as I have resolved to be selective regarding who I talk with on the phone, just for this reason.  I read the previous posts, and just called the 800 number to have my home phone put on the "Do NOT Call" list.  I don't understand how they can call in the first place.  I am on the National Do Not Call Register, and I don't conduct business with this company.  In my opinion, this is the equivalent of Spam on the Internet.  So, we'll see if they delete my number.  If not, the next step is to register a complaint with the FTC and the FCC.

I use to work out of the Long Beach, CA office for Maritz about 6 years ago.  All they are doing is conducting surveys on behalf of businesses for customer satisfaction data.  When I worked there, I remember BofA being a big survey for that company.  What they are doing is not illegal.

Received telemarketing call on 3/9/09 at 6:54 PM (dinner time) from 443-205-1070 Maritz Research.Asked to take a survey. When informed I'm on Federal and PA DNC list abrupt hang up/ no apology for interrupting my dinner. Just a "click". Irritating to say the least!
