Thick accented woman asked if I was the owner of my company, she asked three-four times, as well as asking verification of other information. My bullXXXX detector went off and I started doing online search. she hung up when I told her to spell me the name of her company... disturbing call...

Just received a call from a man asking for the president of the company by name, when i asked him his name and where he was calling from he repsonded that his name was Jesse and he was calling from 29P then he said "as in prime". He got sent directly to voicemail.

the call went to my voice mail and you could hear other people talking in the background like telamarketing. The girl was singing the laughed and hang up. My caller ID read your web page. They call me all the time and I do not answer and with they would STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

A woman with a thick accent called me at 6:30 pm.  I answered and there was a long pause before she spoke, and she said hello, hello, etc.  I hung up.  Called again immediately.  I knew it was a call center, so I said to please remove me from your calling list.  She then called back the third time.  When I picked up, I said "I told you I would like to be removed from your list."  She said "you don't know what I am calling about."  I hung up.  Received the fourth call immediately after, I let it go to VM and no message was left.  A legitimate business does not call your business phone after hours.  This is real harassment.  How can they get away with this?  

Foreign accent lady, bad connection said she was with Google but she told me to SHUT-UP and hung up on me  when i ask her if there was a charge and i told her i was going to turn her into BBB if it wasnt what she said it was.

Same thing happened to me with call supposed from Google. Hung up when they asked me if I was sole owner or partnership. That was 3 weeks ago. Just got another call today which I did not answer and they left no message.

Same type of requests to verify biz information.  I did verify what she asked as it is all info VERY easy to get by plugging my phone number into any search engine.  But then she said she wanted to verify my name and asked how to spell my last name.  I told her I would be happy to verify what they had and asked what they had.  ...She hung up.

I just got this same type of call, in my case from a woman with a heavy accent who was overly formal, always using "Miss" in front of my name. She said something about google and my listing (which I don't actually have a listing in!), and then started to ask questions about my business, including the name of the business and the website. I asked her to clarify again why she was calling and she said something again about google. I told her I was busy and had to go, and hung up, It definitely felt fishy.

and I tell the caller that I'm not interested in what they have to offer,
and they keep calling back. I DONT WANT THERE CALLS.

I've gotten over a dozen calls over last month from this number and many others ( So Cal, Fl ) all claiming to be from Google providing web services for my business. Been in business for 24 yrs and recently did major upgrade to website.
They all have heavy accents, start out asking me to verify my shop info. I've asked them not to call and block the number but a new one keeps calling. They hang up the second you tell them not to remove you from ca list. Ive even called back and spoke with a supervisor, perfect English (obviously the sales/scam closer) just to see what they were after. The sales pitch promising first page placement on Google sounds enticing to a new business but when I pressured him with a basic question of  how could he guarantee first page placement if my competitors were also using same type service he stumbled in sales pressure tactic.
Kept promising they would do everything possible to keep me there and it was a special of $199 a month with convenient credit card charge.
Told him his service was a joke and to never call again. Blocked his number.

I also received a call from this number just moments ago. They said they were calling to update my business listing on Google Maps, or something along those lines, and the guy was able to pull up an address where I used to have my business years ago (in another state). I started to feel concerned and I asked if I could just update my information online myself. He said "no" and started stumbling through some reason as to why and then he said "what is your first name?". Strange, since my name is pretty closely connected with my online business presence. I interrupted him and said I'd have to let him go because I was in a meeting...and he hung up on me. So, there's that.

Same exact thing happened to me a few minutes ago.

I just got the same call and when I answered I said, "Hello, how can I help you" and she replied, "You called me" I was like, "what you just dialed my number!" She said, "No, I didn't" I just hung up on her and googled the number and found this site, geez!

the company owner name is public information. as for them calling and asking for you by name, train your "gatekeeper" not to let anyone through unless you specifically tell them about a phone call you are expecting. easy.

called 2x today, foreign accent lady, bad connection both times. probably telemarketing something

I asked the caller to hold as I had customers coming in.
He said WHY?? about 3 times.
So I did not get a chance to greet our other customers.
One of our Sales Team assisted the people who were coming in.
When I asked him how could I help him he said "NOTHING I AM GOING TO HANG UP NOW!!"
And did!  

I just got two calls back to back  and didn't answer. No message was left. I have resorted from not answering any outside calls because of all the fishing scams.

The caller claimed to be calling from Google about my Google ad.  Asked me to confirm that the information on my web page was still correct.  She asked me to confirm my name and address and then wanted me to confirm my web page name.  I told her that everything I have on the internet regarding my address has not changed.  When she stated what she THOUGHT was my web page name, I hung up on her.  This is really alarming!

Just received this call two times in 5 minutes. I did not answer either time and no message was left. If they call again it looks like I will be filling out those forms again.

Just got the same kind of call, somehow knowing my name as owner of the company. If these anyone can actually get the company that is doing this, we should report them to the better business bureau. I don't like the fact that people can call the dispatch line of my company and ask for me directly, like they know me on some sort of personal level. Not cool!

A company called to inquire about my newly posted business on Yelp and started by asking me to verify my information (name, location, business type, website, etc). Then the woman started asking me about how much I'm making per month, and if I'm spending any money on marketing, and I told her thanks, but I wasn't interested in online marketing. The woman kept pressing, asking me to verify information about my business, and I kept saying I wasn't interested until I just hung up on her after the 3rd try. Was very frustrating to not be heard, not be told right away what they wanted from me, and to have her push back despite me saying I wasn't interested 3+ times.
