I received a similar call from this number a few minutes ago, Name Not Found on caller ID, probably from the same individual. He identified his company as "PC Wizard" and suggested that my computer was probably infected with some bad stuff. He wanted me to boot it up so he could lead me though a procedure to dis-infect it. Because I recently allowed a vendor tech support rep remote access to my new laptop to clear up some problems, I considered the possibility that some malware code had already been planted in my computer, and told him it wasn't convenient to boot up just now, at which point he hung up. I have excellent IS software and had already run Malwarebytes, but will do it again and also go to Gibson for a firewall check. It may simply be an enterprising individual trying to make an honest living in India, but the fact that I currently receive 10 or more disguised phishing emails from around the world every day has made me very skeptical. It is a jungle out there with lots of predators lurking in the shadows. The only absolutely sure way to avoid the bad guys is to unplug the Internet connection.

This number called me just now.  Was an middle-eastern sounding male. Told me he was from "computer technical department" and wanted me to sit at my computer so he could show me "important things".  I told him I am a systems engineer for a managed services company providing server and network support and wouldn't need his "help", and I was pretty sure he was a scammer trying to get me to give him access to my system.  His exact words (more or less) were "you need my help because I know much more than you do".  really? I laughed at him and he said he could kick my a$$. I told him if he really wanted to leave his cave and come to America to kick my a$$, I would teach him about our Second Amendment.  Then I hung up.  I hope he calls back, because I would like to have a little fun with him...

I got a call from an india indian telling me my computer was downloading infected files and he wanted to hep me. After assuring me he was not selling anything but the long-winded jerk just kept talking and talking about my infected computer. I finally got angry and told him to cut to the chase and tell me what the hell he wanted. He then said that I obviously do not want his help and he hung up. My caller ID listed the caller as "name unavailable." I get a lot of calls from this "company."
