I have received several calls/messages over the past few weeks.  I have also received similar calls/messages from another number in the past year.  Basically the same message every time. "This is (name of caller) from the Financial Crime Division.  I have you listed as a central subject in an active criminal investigation being downloaded in you accounting (or county) today.  I nee to speak with you or your retained attorney immediately regarding this matter."  I never answer and as with most of the other posts I have read, it is usually a literary persons name, including Robert Frost.  They even used Karen Rogers who is like a journalist/ news celebrity in Philadelphia. It is getting absolutely ridiculous and someone should do something about it.

Google your name and number. Any place such as spokeo that shows up, make them remove the information.

They called me todat threate ingv me with chech faud and warrant for my arrest on a non existant payday loan. I turned them ito the ftc.

They call my  prepaid phone, and left a message saying " your phone number and checking account are connected with some sort of fraud, and to call back asking for Robert Frost?"

My phone number is not linked with my bank account! How do these people get my number?!!

This number is on a do not call list so stop calling it

I wouldn't worry about it anyway hotshot, this is a extortion scam operation.

I've also received calls from this number and the person telling me that I owe for an internet loan I'd been given and not paid back... blah...blah... blah just like these other people have reported.  I never made any such loan either and have hung up on them as well.   Where's internet police when you really need them to arrest these real internet scammers?

I received a phone call from this phone number, telling me that I applied for an auto loan and I am being charged with fraud for accepting the loan ( which I never applied for!) and not following through with it and interest and application fees have been acessed. The message was from law enforcement form some Ligatation Remediation Enforcement Group and their client is Advance America is pressing legal charges, to avoid Prison and huge legal fees, I needed to resolve this matter immediately.
I also recieve a voice mail from a Robert Frost , a Federal Detective that will be processing a judgement!

Guy called left vm said his name was Charlie Frost from Georgia and hes a detective with the county P.D. and my name has came up as a suspect in a case.  

They lied.  They're scammers trying to scare people into paying a bogus debt.

Says I owe for a payday loan

I received a call from this number. The culprits are in Georgia. The woman who answered said I owe a payday loan to Cash America. The original amount was $300 but due to the lateness of it, interest has compounded and I owe more. She went on and on about how there is a warrant out for me and I will arrested if I do not send them money.   I hung up on her while she was still  talking. I called spoke with a company representative  for Cash America and informed them about the call. I also  stated that I do not have any such loan. They were aware that i do not have a loan with them and said it is  a scam. There is a Scam Alert on their Webpage. These people are ridiculous. They really think they can intimidate.

Says I owe a payday loan from 2011. I do not owe a loan. I asked for proof. He hung up
