Let me tell you about us and the reason we decided to rent out the apartment,me and my husband works for a (NGO) Non-governmental organization .He was just transferred to Pennsylvania. It is a facility for children/adolescents who have been severely abused and/or have mental disabilities and go on to commit crimes.The goal of the facility is to both treat underlying psychopathology and in the process give the people coping skills in other to help them thrive in society. I was suppose to travel with him but two weeks before he traveled I had a serious car accident that affected my spinal cord and brain which led to my disability,as I write you I am on a wheel chair and I find it very difficult to talk but can easily communicate through any means of writing. I?m currently staying with my mother in California who is also suffering from lungs cancer.

Me and my husband traveled to Gambia this January before my accident,we visited SOS children village.This was a big experience for me,my husband and the kids we visited we had a lot of fun.Last month l got an email from a young mother we met there who told me that she has chosen me as her ?Grandmother?this sounded very strange to me but a student of Gambia who always drove me and my husband during the job explained that this is common in West Africa,people do so when they can ask somebody they like for an advice this girl also told me that she did not choose me only as her mother but as her friend,it is really exciting always to be faced with the customs of other countries this improves our understanding and willingness to understand foreign people and societies.All these experiences encouraged my husband to carry on with the work and he's really enjoying it.
