Similar to prior report...I answered, heard background noise, but no caller spoke.  Caller ID showed it to be "Texas State Trp."

Folks, please contact the Texas Attorney General and report the Texas State Troopers Association.  There is a simple form to fill out on the AG's website.  If enough people complain, this fraudulant telemarketing operation will be shut down.  I am on the DNC list and have asked numerous times to be removed from TSTA's call list; however, they continue to call every few months.  Let's work together to shut these guys down.  Thanks!

I have received several calls from this number over the past few days.  At times they only hang up, even when I answer.  They never leave a message when I don't.  Once, a guy was soliciting money for a Police Association.  When I told him I wasn't interested, he said "This isn't for the police officers, they get paid.  This is so that kids can go to camp..."  I told him again I wasn't interested but he just kept talking OVER me.  I kept trying to cut him off & tell him I was on the "do not call" list, but he just kept barrelling through his spiel, so I hung up.
When I called the number back, there were a couple of clicks, & then I got a recording in a woman's voice that said:  "Sorry, the mailbox is full.  Please try again later."  It kept silent for about 10-20 seconds after that before disconnecting the call automatically.

A man told me that he's associated with Texas State Trooper and they are asking for donation to stop "don't drink and drive" campaign.  He said that he'll send me a stickers for my bumper.  He was asking for donation.

Someone named Chase called  and asked for me by my first name and was  very rude to my husband. When I got home he gave me the message and I tried to call back but it said this voice mail box is full. I am glad I found this information online.

Answered the call but only heard a click and then they hung up. I remembered that I had previously seen the number on my caller ID list, so I googled the number and found this site. According to previous posts, maybe they hung up on me because I'm male. Next time they call (I'm sure they will) I'll do my best to sound like a woman and see if I can catch them by surprise... Ha ha, what kind of sad losers would work for such a scam company.

THIS IS A SCAM!!! Whatever you do DON'T answer the phone if you see this number on your caller ID and ,if you happen to answer by mistake, DON'T give them ANY money or personal information. They say they are with the Texas State Troopers Association when ,in fact, they have absolutely NOTHING to do with ANY Texas law enforcement agency.

Received a call while on the phone with my mom (CallerId on the television is wonderful).  Ignored it as I didn't recognise the number.  CallerId only said Incoming Call.

I was out on our property far from the main house when the call came in.  My 12 yr old daughter answered & they asked by name for my husband or me, which ever one was avaliable. My daughter told the person we weren't avaliable and the guy proceeded to ask you if she was age 18 or older.  When my daughter replied no, he simply said he would call back later.  Like many comments I've read I was worried that a real law enforcement agency was trying to contact me/us.  When I tried calling the number back I could hear 2 clicks then the "box full" recording.  I can't help but wonder if they build their data bank by the numbers that they call back from.

Got a call from this number at 9:00 pm.  The caller ID just said incoming call - no name or company.  I didn't answer because we screen our calls and when our answering machine picked up we just heard someone say "HELLO" and that was it. They hung up.  I guess the "no call lists" are a waste of time.  I keep getting calls that I have reported.

I received this call 2x today but nobody said anything when my husband answered and I am thinking they didn't want to talk to him because when they have called in the past and I have answered the phone they always have talked to me.  So, how many of you agree above that you are mostly women and not men that this happens to.

Someone called me at the model home I work at and was literally reading off a script!  He was muffled and reading so fast I could barely understand him.  I told him to call corporate if they wanted a donation but were trying to get me to donate instead.  I said he could send me the pamphlet and then he asked how much I would donate.  I told him I had no idea, it was something I would need to discuss with my husband.  He kept on and on and on about how he needed to know FOR SURE 100% that I would donate and how much.  UGH!!!!  SO rude...and I finally said, "just don't sent me anything" he then proceeded to tell me I could pay via credit or debit card over the phone...HA!  NEVER would I do that for anyone!  But THE NERVE of someone to badger you!  I knew it must've been a scam!  He said, "maybe next year"  YEAH...try to that to me again next year, buddy!

The same thing happened to me last week; answered phone, no response, clicks, end call. This morning the same number called but I missed it. That lead me here. At least I know what it is now. And by the way, I don't donate ANYthing over the phone.

Glad I remembered this site. I was working in the house and didn't get to the phone in time so I don't know what would have been on the other end. Just wanted to post to say they called here as well. Must be an automated service because they didn't leave a message or anything.

Wow, I found this site b/c of a dumb wellsfargo number that WONT stop calling me.... so i decided to search for 512, since I live in austin...and found this... They DID call me, she told me it was to prevent injured police officers from suffering from the loss of time on the job or something, I had just had a seriously bad run in with a cop and of course didn't donate, not like i really would anyway, but once i said i didn't like cops at all and couldn't care less, she goes... oh... ok? im sorry... are you sure you dont want to donate....

glad i checked this out, had NO idea it was a scam.

Same as the others; I answered but only heard clicks, I called back and also only heard clicks, then a recorded message "The voice mailbox is full" - I called again, again, again and again... each time I hear "...'click'...'click'.... 'This voice mailbox is full' -     Looking at my caller ID from the last few days I see they called about this same time last week too! WTF?? I assumed it was about a ticket maybe or something - but if it's one of the Sheriff Sticker scams I once worked for a telemarketer that hired me to sell those over the phone (a sleazy job that I soon quit) but know from first-hand experience that those Sheriff, Police and Highway Patrol "sticker" scams are nothing but rip offs. If that's what this is I won't worry about it - I just hope I don't end up with a warrant now ...

This "organization" is a scam.  After consulting with a real police officer/friend, I found out these people to raise funds but a VERY small percentage actually goes to the aid of injured police officers and their families.  I highly recommend you NOT promise or send them any money.  How to get them to quit calling?  I have no idea.  Try to ask them to take you off their list and threaten to report them to the authorities.

I did get an answer once but turned out to be a solicitor to give to a national police assoc which I'd never heard of BUT they swore I'd given to them the past year. Well, I had no record of them and ALWAYS keep records of checks and only give checks!

I answered but just heard clicks.  Caller ID showed it to be "Texas State Trp."  This outfit has called before using other phone numbers.  As always before, I report them to the federal and state Do Not Call authorities.  I am not sure that ever does any good.

They called today and left 15 min of static on my answering machine!!

I will be reporting them to the FCC for VIOLATING THE NO CALL LIST and YOU CAN TOO!

What You Can Do

The FCC can issue warning citations and impose fines against companies violating or suspected of violating the do-not-call rules, but does not award individual damages. If you receive a telephone solicitation that you think violates any of these rules, you can file a complaint with the FCC. You can file your complaint using our on-line complaint Form 1088 found at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html; e-mailing fccinfo@fcc.gov; calling 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to:

Federal Communications Commission
Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau
Consumer Inquiries & Complaints Division
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, DC 20554.

What to Include in Your Complaint

The best way to provide all the information needed for the FCC to process your complaint is to complete fully the on-line complaint Form 1088. The Form 1088 first asks you to select the specific telemarketing activity that you are complaining about, then directs you to a section of the form that asks specific questions relevant to that activity. If you do not use the on-line complaint Form 1088, your complaint, at a minimum, should indicate:

your name, address, e-mail address, and phone number where you can be reached;

the phone number where you received the call, and whether this number is on the national Do-Not-Call list;

the date and time of the call;

whether the call advertised or sold any property, goods, or services;

any information (including a caller ID number) to help identify the individual or company whose property, goods, or services were being advertised or sold, and whether any of this information was provided during the call;

whether you or anyone else in your household gave the caller permission to call;

whether you have an EBR with the caller (specifically, whether you or anyone else in your household made any purchases of property, goods, or services from the individual or company that called, or made any inquiry or filed an application with the individual or company prior to receiving the call); and

whether you or anyone in your household previously asked the caller or individual or company whose property, goods, or services are being advertised or sold NOT to call, and when you made the request.
