Just found your message when researching these calls that I am getting.  I am in the greater Seattle area.  Has KING 5's Jesse reported on this yet?  I would really like to know...

Received an automated message reporting that my Wells Fargo credit card had been suspended and that if I waiting on line I would be provided the step on how to unlock. Curious. I don't own a Wells Fargo credit card and I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Didn't bother to listen to the rest of the message.

This is an automated phishing machine, similar to a telemarketing autodialer. It is looking flto fool people into providing debit card numbers, expiration dates and security codes. The scammers are targeting areas where a bank is well established then flooding numbers withthe same area code with calls claiming to be from that bank.

a call came from this # at midnight last night. whoever it was hung up before I could answer the cell phone. we've also received numerous "restricted" calls (no # or name given), stating they are wells fargo bank - either locking our car doors for security, or blocking our credit card usage for security.  we do not have wells fargo accounts!?!  these calls come at anytime of the day or night!!!  there "oughta' be a law"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what can people do to "terminate" this insanity????????????

They have been calling me for weeks as well.  Calls come in from many different numbers and at all times of the morning and night.  This last time, I pressed one and a person answered without identifying herself.  I ask what company is this and she hung up on me.  Maybe next time I will act like I am interested and see if I can get some information out of these con artists.  I am happy to hear this is being investigated and I plan on calling the police department as well (doubt they can do anything) but this is harassment and I want it to stop.

They are calling saying that your debit card is locked and either call back a certain number, or press 1.  We have received 4 of these calls, one at midnight.  They call from a lot of different numbers, mine was from the Bronx, my husband had one from Carmel CA.  I think they have a way of tapping into legitimate numbers around the US. My daughter just told me you can go to a website and enter a number you want to text from, and you may be able to do this for calling from a number.  This is being looked into KING 5 news in Seattle by their consumer Advocate,  Jesse.  What I would like to do is have a blow horn ready and when a real person comes on, blast their ears off!
One of my calls came in unavailable too.  Different recording but same message.  Total Scam!

Let's all get blow horns for these scammers and teach them a lesson!
