Called here 3 times within the hour. Each time left a message "Please Hold Briefly. All of our operators are busy at the moment." WTF!?  I didn't call THEM, they called ME!  I'm supposed to wait on hold to see what they have to say? Yeah, my time's worth more than that.

When you finally receive a statement/demand letter from a Collection AGency/Debt Collector for GE Money Bank, here's a copy of the letter I sent them.  The phone calls will STOP and so will any further demand for payment.

However, GE Money may send your account to a different Collection AGency/Debt Collector - send the letter to them also.  They should finally just give up.

If you receive a similar letter (and phone calls) from an Attorney law firm, that is NOT one located in your resident state - they CAN'T sue you.  Send them this same letter, and same laws apply.

To Whom This May Concern:

I am in receipt of your demand for payment.  However, this Notice is to confirm that I do not wish to be contacted again by you, and that you are hereby put on Notice to Cease Communication pursuant to 15 USC Section 1692c(c).  Failure to comply with said Notice, shall result in a complaint filed and submitted to the Federal Trade Commission, and possible legal remedies in appropriate United States Courts.

Your representatives have also been trying to contact me,  however, I only do business of this nature via mail. Therefore, I am requesting again, that you cease and desist from calling me or contacting us in any way.   Please remove the phone numbers XXX XXX-XXXX. The calls constitute harassment at this point, which is causing a major disruption, in both my business and personal life as well as, being an invasion of my privacy, which I will not tolerate.

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, which branched from United States Code Title 47 sect 227, implemented a do-not-call list from solicitors, which mandates a solicitor to abate phone calls to customers who have requested in writing, to cease all phone communication.  If you continue to contact me, I will file a complaint with the Attorney General, FTC, BBB and FCC, as well as refer to our Legal Dept. for further remedies per our Federal/State rights.

Complaints have already been filed with our Attorney General and FTC for Federal and State Law violations, including but not limited to, multiple calls per day and calls received on weekends and holidays, as well as other violations documented.

In addition, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT, I am not waiving my right, to dispute the alleged debt asserted herein, but at this time I am under no obligation to respond as a result of (GE Money Bank’s) default.

Sincerely,

Dear JZ, You purchased a bed using your GE Money card; and returned the bed?  Select Comforts or the store you purchased from, should've ran your card for a credit.  If they didn't then - you NEED to dispute your bill with your credit card company.  You have 60 days to dispute the statement with any charges regarding that bed!  Somewhere on your credit card statement is an address for Billing Disputes, or customer service.  The address will be different than where your payments are sent.  Send the letter Certified Mail (approx. $5.50) so you have a receipt of your disputed amount.

Credit Card companies to accept your billing dispute, your letter needs to contain:  The Account # of the card, The Amount of Dispute, Statement Date, Cardholders name and Signature, The reason for the dispute, which in your case is item was returned.  I am enclosing a letter I wrote regarding a similar situation with a different credit card we had used for an online purchase.  I have removed our personal information, so you can fill in yours.

If this has been awhile since the return and purchase, send the letter anyway.  Technically you are still being billed finance charges and other fees regarding this purchase.  Include those amounts in your letter that pertains to that purchase.  One can't just quit paying, without notifying the bank the reason why.  If you do, you will lose the ability to use that card.  GE Money bank as well as other credit card companies are doing some illegal procedures, everyday.  I know what I'm saying and alleging.  I do have documented proof by violations of Federal Laws by several credit card companies.

If you have any questions, please post a reply, the site should notify me so I can respond and answer any further questions.  Hope this helps.

RE: Billing Error on Account #
Amount in Dispute: $

Dear GE Money Bank: :

I am writing to dispute the total amount of $  0.00, charged  on the above referenced checking account/credit card statement, dated xx-xx-20;

The product item(s) listed in the transactions were returned, on xx-xx-2010.    Even with my best efforts to resolve this, and receive a refund, the company has repeatedly refused.  We are therefore, asking for your help, and a credit on our account in the amount of $0.00 which includes all previous debited amounts, regarding the “ ” Visa/Mastercard card charges..

We are also asking for your Legal assistance, as we believe our Consumer Protection rights under the Federal Fair Credit Billing Act has been violated, by the GE Money Bank company.  We are willing and will provide you with whatever assistance, your Legal Department needs, in pursuing and litigating regarding these allegations.  We are extremely knowledgeable in our Consumer Protection Rights, and the Fair Credit Billing Act, as well as Utah Rules of Civil Procedure.

The Fair Credit Billing Act allows 30 days in which you are to respond to me acknowledging receipt of my letter.  Resolution must be complete within 90 days.  If you need more time, please let me know.

I expressly object to an assignment of the rights and/or duties, of any Cardholder Agreement, to which I am a party, from Deseret First Credit Union to anyone else.

I am also requesting that all communications be conducted in writing, and I appreciate your honoring my request.

Thank you for your help and cooperation with us regarding this situation.

GE Money also calls for Select Comfort.  We returned a Select Comfort bed because we were not satisfied with the product.  The company still charged us money for the bed (what a scam).  We do not owe the money and will not pay but they continue to call night and day.  I am going to try and send the letter listed above to see if it works (if I can find the address).

This number could also be from Lowe's Collection Agency Genpact.  The message I wrote above still applies.

After you send a Certified letter, while waiting for the green card; you could send the same letter via fax to that number.  It may or may not go through.  However, it will tie up their phone line, especially we lots of people do it at the same time.

They never leave a message.  They always call several times a day, and even on weekends.

There are laws regarding even Original creditors calling on weekends; but they all do it.  If you do business with Lowes/GE Money, they are within their rights to call you.  They should leave a message, but they never do.  Here's a letter I send, whenever the calls become excessive.

Constant calls that begin at 8:01est and continue every 15-30 minutes. Answering machine picks up calls but they never leave a message. By the time I return home from work, I have at least 20-30 calls with 20-30 blank messages on answering machine. I work 10 hours a day with an 1 1/2 commute each way so I am not home when the calls come in. It is extremely annoying. This has been going on now for over 2 months and I have no idea what they want. In fact, I just awoke to get ready for church and there are already six calls from them. I don't have a phone on second floor so missed the calls but cannot believe they call on Sundays beginning at 8am. Ridiculous! If in fact it is from Lowes, I've never had a card with that company and I wish the calls would stop. I hope I can catch one today when I return home.
