Just got the alternate billing service bill of $49.95. Company says they don't have a record of my business names or numbers. Told to call the same number I just called to talk to SARAH 855-248-1106. I didn't talk to anyone from this company for this contract and Telus is taking this off my bill but said I have to cancel it or it will keep appearing. But how do you cancel a contract wtih a business that doesn't have my info? and why is Telus allowing this to go on the bills? They are just about as much to blame as Hello Pages for going along with this scam.

I just noticed this charge on my July Telus bill from 514-764-3921 for $49.95 Person to Person on a Saturday.  So, I did an online search of the number and came up with this site and everyone's comments.

I immediately called Telus, while I waited on hold I decided I should check my previous bills and sure enough I had another charge that I had missed on my last months statement.  When I talked to the Telus representative she knew the number and said they were aware of Hello Pages and they were being investigated.  

Telus kindly reversed the 2 charges.  She said to watch to see if we get anymore charges from that number call back to Telus at 1-888-811-2828 and have the number "Blocked".

Same thing happened to me got the same Resty Girl with her number 201103.
Tried to say that the account was approved by our previous owner who has not been with the company for 7 years!  She said that the contract is cancelled and that their financial manager will be in contact within the next 2 business day! we will see! in the meantime telus is refunding me the full charges and they are investigating this company for a scam and fraudulent charges. but as it went through for two months now I have to call again next month to get this months charges refunded.

This number called my place of business after our business hours and our office answering machine answered the call but there was no message etc left.
The next phone bill I received showed a charge for $49.95 + GST charged to my phone account

This is clearly a scam and the people9s) behind it are literally stealing money under fraudulent conditions

Can anyone tell me what can be done to stop this?
How do I get this fee removed from my bill .
How do I prevent it in the future???

Update

Called Telus back and told them about my conversation with Rusty.  Based on info provided they cancel charge for June 2012 billing for $49.95.

Agent I got to talk to was lady named Joe.  She said she handled 3 calls about this company so I passed on the phone number I have 1-855-248-1106, so Telus can pass it on to other customers to deal with their bills.

Then I called Rusty back - funny - she was the one who answered - to me it looks like she is the only one handling these calls.

I told her, that I had the current charge taken of the Telus phone bill, so ONLINE HELLO PAGES OWES ME $49,95 for month of May ONLY.

She said she will adjust this charge and mail me check for this amount.

what it said on page 7/8 under ALTERNATE SERVICE BILLING was:

I had same charge, different day, on previous bill.

I called Telus and got talking to James.  Very nice man, was aware of this scam.  HE said recently they had quite few calls.
James provided me phone number 1-800-345-3444 - BUT that is only recorded message and gets you nowhere.

I tried phone number Bryan Baker provided - few posts up >> his number works.  I got to talk to woman named Maggi and after I explained to her what is going on she gave me another phone number to call: 1-855-248-1106.
Lady named Rusty agent number 201103 was the agent who handled this call.
After explaining the situation she told me that Tony agreed to be represented by company HELLO ONLINE PAGES  and billed for services "Provided".  I asked her to fax me the contract Tony enter into and for what services. She said it was "verbal contract".

I told her that I highly doubt that, for Tony even thou is the owner of the company he does not have the capacity to make these decisions or contract for advertisement.  That is my job, and I know I did not contract with anybody.  

I told her I wish to close this account and have the money refunded to us.  Rusty told me, since the already provided services they will keep the money.

I told her, you will not, until I see contract we have between us.  

I said to her:" I received another scam in mail the other day from CanadianRegistry.ca.  This company did call Tony and offered him advertisement and he instructed them to fax him some information so he can decide whether he is interested or not.  

Instead of that they send him a bill for $591.34 for

I said to Rusty - this is another case of somebody dreaming up a bill and sending it to me, to see if I will bite.  I refused the package and notified post office of this scam and told them to mail it back.

So Rusty, unless you are willing to provide me with a genuine copy of our contract and send me a proper bill I consider this a scam. That is what your company did.  You dreamed up a bill/charge and attached it to a different company hoping it will go unnoticed and paid.

Rusty gave me cancellation number and asked for our bank account number to deposit the amount.

I told her the check will be mailed to our mailing address.  Giving them account number could tempt them to charge directly my account number and I would have to be on guard for ever looking what scam they are trying to pull.  Rusty said that check of $99.90 will be mailed within 4-6 weeks to us.
And as I typing this - I realized I did not even pay the second $49.95 charge.

However, I just want you all who will make it to this site, know that this is a genuine scam, and if you insist on seeing contract, they will get your money back.  So they say.  I will see in 4-6 weeks.

i too was conned into free advert. just received phone bill , two charges @ 49.95 ea.. they deliberty use sales rep. w\accent so it sounds as yellow pages

514-764-3921 is the marketing division of  "Hello Pages "  who scam you into advertising on their web site.  The scam consists of them saying " Hello Pages " which sounds like YELLOW Pages .

I too received a charge on my phone bill for $56.44 so I called Bell Canada to dispute the charge.  My Bell Canada bill indicated that I accepted a  P4E  "collect & person to person" call from  QC 514 765-3921 . Bell gave me the number of the offending company's financial department who issued a refund cheque BUT ONLY BECAUSE I COMPLAINED WITHIN THE 30 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD TO CANCEL MY CONTRACT with "Hello Pages" .  The number of the financial department of Hello Pages is:  1 888 985-2233 .     Make sure that you tell them you want to cancel their service completely....or they will bill you again NEXT MONTH .     They told me that I will receive a cheque for $49.95 within 15 days and the HST was collected by Bell Canada so I am going to call Bell again to get that charge cancelled.
