Call from a valid company known as Shazam, who handles debit card services for my bank, PBI Bank. They were calling to confirm activity regarding to a series of online purchases I made one day, thinking they were suspicious due to the fact they were made from an unfamiliar IP Address. Even though I did verify that it was me who made them, I had to give them props for having a good eye about it, especially during this "Heartbleed" internet security crisis. They just wanted to make sure it was me who still had possession of the card, and that it hadn't been stolen. :)

I keep getting the same annoying call frm a guy saying hes frm shazzam leaving voicemls that there's suspicious activity on my debit card except all my $$ is accounted for ea time. I called my bank provider they said it was a scam& dont call it back.

Call is from SHAZAM. a service used by many banks and credit unions...basically to watch cards for suspicious activity.  If you don't want to return their call, at least call your financial institute and see if the use Shazam.  You're gonna want to get these charges cleared up if for real.  Mine were and it's simple enough to let the Bank handle it.  They lock up your card and you get a new one.  Annoying but better than letting someone else spend your money.  

this person called shazam atm service thru the bank we use they were just making sure we Were the ones that spent the money in the places that we did :D

This is a valid company.  They are Shazam.  They handle issuing and maintaining debit cards.  They handle my banks.  They call from this number and leave a message to call the 800 number.  The first time they called I didn't call and the bank froze my debit card.  Items from Amazon hit at the same time I was doing lical transactions.  Once I called they reset my card.  This time they called because someone tried to purchase travel tickets and other items overseas.  We cancelled the card and they are issuing a new one.  If you don't respond they freeze the card.

Do NOT ignore this one. This is a legitimate number.  It is the client services 24 hour hotline for SHAZM debit card services.  Always return their calls because they are monitoring your debit card for any possible fraudulent activity.  THey save me $500 a year ago when someone had "hacked" my card number on the internet.  Very valuable service provided by your financial institution who issued your debit card.

the number on the back of the card said I would have to call my bank fortunately I read this called the number  and boom they activated the card.

The number that shows up on caller ID is for ITS, Inc. which is a security systems provider. Shazam works within ITS. The call back number that they give you is 866-508-2693. This should also be the same number that your bank would give to you if you called and verified who shazam is. Which is sad because your main office to your bank should know who processes their debit cards. Next time ask to speak to someone who deals with their debit cards and they will assure you that they are legitimate. Plus, all shazam ever asks you to verify is your address that the bank has on file. They're not out to order a billion pizzas in your name. Its for your protection and it is a service that they are doing on behalf of your bank. Your bank provides this service in conjunction with possessing a debit card through your bank. The number is valid.

Called saying there was some suspicious activity on our debit card.  the crazy thing was is I monitor my accounts daily and there were not change in activity pattern from the month before.  Also they called my husbands number which was just changed and NEVER given to our bank.  We never called them back.  I reported it to the main office of our bank and they said they never heard of this number and if there was something going on with our account their main office would contact us.

I returned the call and they needed to verify a purchase I had made at a place with 2 different amounts.  Very nice and respectful.  Shazam

Called me about fraudulent attempt to use my debit card.  I confirmed it wasn't my charge, and they are freezing my acct.  Shazam handles debit cards for many smaller banks.

Got a call from this company inquiring about suspect online purchases. All they asked for verification was my name and address, and then stopped the card for me. The Shazam logo is on the back of my debit card. Our bank said this company is very good, and the fact that they caught the fraudulent activity is proof. Don't hesitate, Shazam is legit, return their call pronto or contact your bank immediately.

This is a real company to varify charges made with your bank card.  They are calling for your protection to make sure the "odd" charges are valid and placed by the card holder and not a scam company.  If you call you can varify and ask if they locked your card.  I did this, my card was locked, but I was told it would be unlocked.  This is great that this company is looking out for us.  If you look on the back of your card it will have their logo on the card.  Shazam.

Debit Card company if your bank uses Shazam check cards.  Received card to let me know that two purchases had been made on my card today, one of which was declined because of the daily limit on my credit card (ie we tried to purchase our new computer online) and advising that I needed to call my bank to have them temporarily raise my daily limit to make said purchase.

Confirming that this is "Shazam".  My bank (and many others) contracts with them for debit card services.  Got the call with the 866-508-2693 return number after making a $1000+ order at NewEgg.Com

When calling they will ask for your name and to verify your address and nothing more.  They will then read to you who charged your card and the total amount in question and then ask if it is an authorized charge.

got a call, said someone had tried to use my wife's debit card twice in the last two weeks & she should call a toll free number they gave me. My wife didn't return the call.

Got a call today stating there were suspicious purchases on my debit card.  Said they would close my card and send another one.  Called my bank to verify and there were no charges on my bill like they said.  They froze my card as of today and I have to go in the bank to get another card.  People - get a job like me and get your own card !!!!!!

I'm tired of receiving  harassing phone calls from this number, if you can do something.  I will appreciate it.

I got a similar call as those above (From Shazam) and i'm glad i did. Shazam "Hot carded" my debit card, so nobody could continue using it. When they called there were 3 charges , that i had not made. My wife works at the bank where the card is from, and when her boss checked pending transactions, there were 5 . Fortunately all 5 had not hit the account, so we can  declare them "Unauthorized" and not have to pay them. If you get a call like this, don't waste time, get your card shut down right away.

the toll free number that was prob left was 1866-508-2693 this is a vaild service that your bank pays for you should return the call. But if you dont feel comfortable always call you bank.
