I do not have an american express account, why are they calling?

They say they're AmEx, but they're not. They are calling hoping that you have an AmEx, that like a lot of people you're behind in your payments, and that you're naive enough to give them personal information. Do not give them the time of day.

I get several calls from this same number~ and I am current on my american express~ I answered one time~ will not answer again~ it shows up on my caller ID as american express~ Don't waste your time~ I know it is annoying!I agree with the post~ Don't give out any info to these people~ I know I am current~ have even sent emails to Am Express~ through their site~ and still get the harrassing calls~

these people aren't just annoying. they have called again, and i played along to see what they would do. they're asking for my work phone, my year of birth, my mother's birthdate, the last 4 of my social, my address, and my "verbal password" with American Express (there is no such thing). they're dangerous.

Called and wanted to know if I was wife of>>> and lived at >>> Said they were American Express  Wanted to ask questions  i asked if they were calling about my son or husbands account  They did not know either of their middle initials but said it was my son/  I asked if it was in reference to his account and told them it had been paid in full electronically.  they kept asking how much and refused to tell them said  only that it was paid in full if you don't know how much was owed I'm not giving any other info
