My husband was contacted yesterday by this Lucille Cano, he too fell victim to her scam. When he told me about it,I thought no this sounds fishy, I googled her name and no straight away to see it was a scam. 500 dollars later.... You can't trust anybody these days.

I, too, have been a victim of this scam. I wish I had looked at this site before I handed over my credit card details. (It's not called Vanity publishing for nothing - I feel very stupid:( )

They called me and told me they were in New York, but had affiliations with Cambridge. I can't find if they do and they wouldn't give me the UK number or address so I guess they don't.

It does, thank you.
I fell for a similar situation with a 'free newspaper' who got me to advertise and I stupidly handed over my card details. They drained my card without my authorisation and guess what! I was promised a business achievement award which of course never happened.
Same patter from this company, so I guess I can see the reality of it. I was prepared.
They got my details from LinkedIn.
My advice - be wary of cold callers and check out the company first. if they are real they won't mind you calling THEM back if you decide they are worth going with.
Never trust a company which offers a great deal, but states money now as this deal won't be here later! So be it!

Got a call from Who's Who Cambridge from Lucille Cano who said she was calling from New York and as I had filled in the application form on Linked In was calling me to hold an interview.
1. I never filled in the app
2.Why would someone from New York call me I am in the UK
3. called back the number and guess what the recorded message stating about the Cambridge directory was her!
4.I told her that everything needs to be in writting so could she email pls. She said it wasn't possible.
5. She offered me the platinum deal for £500 and when I said no she dropped to £225 to help me out as my business was so facinating she really wanted me on board the directory
6. promised me she would put me in the magazine and I would get a wooden plaque signed by Donald Trump Jr. (does he know about this?)
I politely declined the lovely offer but no doubt she will call back.
I found this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who%27s_Who_scam

Please everyone, NEVER GIVE YOUR CARD DETAILS TO AN UNKNOWN CALLER. Would you let a total stranger walk into your house and walk out with your personal stuff? No then don't do it with your credit card.

These people are from LinkedIn... that's where they are getting your personal information from!
They get all they need from that "social Networking site"... they tell you that they want to name you in their Magazine of "Who's Who"... hmmmm ...Yet, I believe, for a fee!
You decide to answer... "or stay away"!

Let's face it; if this company weren't so forthright in their "stalking" endeavors, and are really 'legitimate', then why don't they just simplify matters and POST on here to give clarification?
If anyone wants to obtain more information, I suggest signing onto your LinkedIn account and wait to see their advertisements "pop-up"! They're everywhere!
Hope this post helps.....

If you're a member of LinkedIn, chances are that's how they received your phone numbers.  Cambridge advertised with them and I opted in for a directory Cambridge is publishing.  Consequently, I received a call based on opting into the service.  Haven't spoken with anyone as they didn't leave a voice mail.

A person named Ken called me today when I was not at home. He left me a message and asked me to call back @ 5165351515-1244. He mentioned there will be a 15 mins. interview regarding my recently application for Cambridge Who's who. I have never applied for this program, so I assume it is a scam.
I am not sure how they got my name and number since I am in Canada.

I don't have my work phone number listed anywhere publically, but have gotten multiple calls (late at night as well as during the day) from this number.  Thank you for the comments here; good to know that I've avoided the harassment.

They called again yesterday and left voice mail on my business cell phone number -- they are calling my personal cell phone number, business cell phone number, and business phone number at the office, each number at least once a day for the past month.  This time it was "Mary Anne" from "Cambridge Who's Who among Executives, Professionals, and Entrepreneurs".  Gave her extension as x1360.  Wanted to talk about the application that I submitted.  I have not submitted any applications, and nor would I ever use my business phone or business cell phone numbers for anything that did not come directly through my company.  Someone must have given them all of my contact info, because it was not me.

This phone number has called me several times each day over the past three weeks on my personal iPhone number as well as my company-provided Blackberry number.  Today a pleasant woman actually left a message on the Blackberry saying she is an executive recruiter with Cambridge and needs to speak with me urgently about the application that I submitted.  She gave her name and an extension number which I don't have because I deleted the message already.  I have not submitted any applications to anyone lately, so this is clearly bogus.

Called  my home and said they got my resume from career builders and I would be perfect for a job with them.  What got my attention was that they never identified the organization they were calling from.  Hence:  googled the number...I guess I will not be returning the call.  Thanks

This number showed on my cell - they called asking for my roommate (who I have absolutely no business associations with) apparently for his payday loan collection purpose. Clearly they have his address and through that they traced my cell number. I believe they are part of a larger network of scams, including semi-legal payday loans and associated phishing net. Think about it as an universal number for regional net of crooks.

About so called WhosWho practice. They send everybody their invitation by traditional junk-mail style and hide information that finally they are going to charge the honest and trusting people for any not ordered customer service... By registration you have option to select phone number closed for their calls (like phone on your desk at work, for example), but latter is mean deceit. They start to call immediately and act like terrorists without any respect to information they have... If they finally reach you (suppose you don't need their calls) they start their INTERVIEW - just invention to hide their solicitation - by couple general questions and then, filling them hard worked, ask to pay couple hundred dollars etc. Who they are after all? Let us investigate together!

Anyway they also can be reached by (516) 535-1515 in Cambridge, MA; Do they have any connection with real one Cambridge?

These people called me from this number saying I was to be the VIP of the year.  They were going to put out a press release and also give me a page in the front of their next publication.  I told them I was glad to hear that.   I later found out from a friend that this may be a scam and she sent me lots of info. about other complaints being made about calls from this number!  Beware, total scam since there isn't a real Cambridge Who's Who in NY!!
