I just got a robo call that may have come from this number. The thing everyone needs to know is that some of these jerks know how to "spoof" a phone number so that it appears they are using one to us, when in fact they are using another one.
When you get these calls, even if you do not answer it, call 1-888-382-1222. That's the number for the FTC. You can use their automated system to report these calls and they can check the phone company records and get the REAL number that was used if spoofing was done. They closed down one auto warranty company and they will close down more only if we all report at least one call a day when we get them. If you can report every one you get, this will end sooner. :-)

Rec'd a call from this number today. They said the warranty on my car has expired, but I knew it was complete bu***hit. Apparently, I was added to their "do not call" list. We will see. I just want to know who the bastards are and how they got my damn cell number.
Tee 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
I guess this is the new number of the auto warranty people that have been calling here to try and scam us. It is a scam btw, do not give them any car information. We have two brand pretty new cars with nice long warranties and an unlisted number that even the dealers we bought our cars from do not have, so they are definitely full of crap. (As if there was any doubt.) When I informed them we were on the do not call list, yet again they hang up without a word. If you'd like to waste their time like they are wasting yours, you should push '1' to talk to an operator.

516-858-7178 AUTO WARRANTY
Telemarketer
Called me every morning this week and woke me up, I get very little sleep, I'm chronically ill on an oxygen machine and it's very hard for me to answer the phone the other 2 or 3 times a day they will also call. This has been going on since April. DO NOT CALL LIST I am on it and they do NOTHING.

Called my office yesterday at 732p. Left no messages.
The auto warranty scammers call my cell, so what I did was create a contact called "SPAM - DO NOT ANSWER" and put all the spam/scam numbers in that contact. When they call, I see the ID ring up as a spammer and just don't answer.
The calls have dwindled quite a bit since doing that.

I got one of these calls today and got someone on the line. I managed to get a name and phone number to an "warranty specialist". I was not able to get an address or an actual company name. Can anyone help me out? Post it here and I will look for it. Utah is trying to crack down on these callers and they have to have the address and the company name. Thanks for all your help.

These scammers keep calling me about a car warranty that is due to expire. Thing is, I have no car and certainly no warranty expiring. When I tell them this, they hang up instantly and call straight after asking the same things.
They also seem to ask a LOT of personal questions, such as my D.O.B., home city, bank details, SSN etc.
They keep calling over and over again but will not listen to me when I tell them they're wasting their time.

i have asked this company to remove me several times. i do not and never have owned a car... how can my warranty be expired. when i ask to speak to a manager, they hang up! im tired of it!
Oxlid 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
These annoying calls continue, not coming from a new number.
gem 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
Fake car warranty scam. I like to put them on hold while I get the info on my cars.
YankeeFan12 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
This is that stupid car warranty expiration message that has been on the news recently. Now they are so blatant, they are using local phone numbers. Third time this week I have gotten this scam recording. I reported it to the DoNotCall.gov website, and I suggest you do the same.
mysexybottom 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
They called just because they love me for my body! haha no.
These people are among the wonderful leeches of society who make viruses, call you at 2am, come to your house claiming they know you, etc.
Just ignore them eventually they'll go away realizing they've got nothing more then self pity left.
Mark 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
They called and someone coughed and then dead silance for about 5 seconds then he hung up.
matt 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
Hey everyone. I just got a call on my cellphone from this number, but I realized that it came through Google Voice (formerly Grand Central). I'd forgotten that my Google Voice number is set up to forward to my cell while showing the original caller's ID, as if they had called my cell directly... And I never put my Google Voice number on the DNC list... Could this be the issue with anyone else here?
bessie 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
Said they were Warranty Service Center in West Palm Beach Florida.
Donald 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
These people have apparently gotten a new phone number. They called me from 516-858-7178.
They called and asked which car they were calling about (we have 3). They said that "my name" (i had not given them my name) was not on either of the cars they had. I then asked them what name was on the car where the warranty was expiring, they told me that by the way i was talking i obviously had no idea what i was talking about and that to tell my parents when they got home that their warranty was expiring and promptly hung up on me. (I'm an adult and own my own car??)
Judy 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
rcvd a call from this number telling me my warranty is about to expire.i did press #2 to take my number off.I will see if it works.
James Sullivan 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint about these guys after repeated requests to remove me from the calling list. And I still am getting calls from them! Someone should make a Skype macro to dial through their tree.

Called me on my work phone last night. Horrendous ... this is a first.
Jane 2011-06-06 20:50:50 Unknown
Every one is annoyed by those criminals but I have Earthlink.net service on my phones and for my DSL. Upon finding out those faked numbers I just block them on line and they we call dead line (mine real one will not pick up nothing!:)))) until they drop dead... which I sincerely whish them full heartily!:)))

I have been receiving these telemarketing "Auto Warranty" calls for several months. Speaking to a representative and demanding to be removed from the list has no effect. Pressing '2' to be removed from the list also has no effect. Unfortunately, being listed on the Federal Government's Do Not Call List also has no effect on preventing these calls.
