Repeated phone calls from this number after 7pm, at least three times a night. How do you block this number???

This number called at 2:20pm and I screened it
with my answering machine, I picked up the
other phone and listened to dead air. I called
back and got"welcome to bell..press 1,2 for
english or french. then it wanted me to type
in the number I was calling from... well, that
means it probably is a scammer that wants to
use my number for long distance charging. 'cuz
I think bell ought to have caller id. BEWARE of
these type calls. I hung up and it called again
immediately, probably thought it had a nibble.
should be a free call block on all phones,
someone would sell a lot of phones with this
feature.

This is a very shameless intrusion and blatant harrasment.
When you dial this number it connects to Bell.

As someone points before, what do you do if its the Phone Company calling.

They have been calling my house about 2 weeks now, and it's non-stop. It's so annoying. They call at least 10 times a day.

I finally picked this up to find a Bell Canada call centre trying to sell you a new modem for $79.99 (which costs less than half that at Futureshop).

I recommend you pick it up and tell them you are not interested for immediate relief from the constant calling.

I just checked my call display,  and 800-668-2355 is showing.  Funny thing is I was sitting beside phone (when call supposedly came through) and it never rang !

I wonder how ident-a-call can register the number even when the phone never rang ?

Well, 9 times today : 9:05 am, 11:35 am, 12:06 pm, 1:32 pm, 2:02 pm, 3:43 pm, 4:27 pm, 5:09 pm, and 8:08 pm. My husband answered the 8:08 call but no one was on the line and it disconnected. My husband called the number back to tell them to stop calling us and got a recording stating that the number was not receiving calls after business hours, eventhough it had just called us! Anyone know what the guidelines are as to how many times a day a telemarketer (in this case, Bell Canada) can call???
What constitutes harassment?

I've read some info online saying that the first step to take when dealing with telemarketers that keep calling is to notify your phone company. What do you do when it is THE PHONE COMPANY doing this???

No different from anyone else - eight or nine times a day, from late morning/early afternoon to 9/10 at night.

I'm getting calls from this number every day and it's sooo annoying. No one's there when I answer. Today, I'm getting calls from this number about every 15 minutes! I tried calling it back and get a recording saying that it's Bell Canada. Was hoping to have the option to be put on a do not call list....I have even tried picking up and hanging up right away hoping someone would take the hint but no luck!

I just got call display and noticed the 1-800-668-2355 coming up all the livelong day. I googled it, and found a website that tells you who's behind tons of 1-800 numbers. If you're interested, it's here.

This idea just came to me. (Excuse me, but this harassment has gone on for weeks, now.) I'm now wondering if it might be some poor employee in a call-center who doesn't like telemarketing and breaks the connection as soon as you answer. They get paid by the call and these are registered only if the person on the other end picks up? Now I wish I had just ignored it. But was getting to be a bit much. Anyone have any other ideas?

As a follow up to my previous post, I called Bell and complained about this. The agent I spoke to could only tell me that they were promoting services to former customers. He could not explain whether it was a robot or human caller and why it would break the connection as soon as you say hello, or why it made multiple calls a day. Well, calling was useless because he just kept repeating that they were trying to promote services, and I FELT like I was talking to a robot.

Bell 800-668-2355 - this number comes up several times a day on my call display. Twice I answered it, and whoever was on the other end just broke the connection.

They left two endless silent messages today within 1 hour (between 3 and 4pm). As far as I know it is the first time I ever get a call from them. I don't have caller ID so they may have called before without leaving a message.

This appears on my caller id also  (as does 647-722-6167).
I did pickup once and had "won" a choice of vacations if I attended a dinner in Woodbridge (specifically alone).....not going alone thanks!  Couldn't make it but they still call at least 6 times a day using the 1-800 number and the other above number.  I answer but hang up right away.  Probably should answer and tell them to put me on their no-call list.

I think they are the same place using two different numbers.

Nine times today alone. Harassment for sure.  Bell needs a quick call block number like *36 (f/o)...

This number has called my house so many times, it is starting to get annoying! Please inform as to how to stop it from calling!

This number 1-800-668-2355 has appeared on my ID screen about [average] 12 times on a regular workday. Starting about 4pm to about 11pm. On the weekend it is none stop from 9am until midnight. I have never answered this call and never will. If people can't leave a message on the voice mail, then I know they are telemaketer's.

What is this number? I could not find anything specific about it on the internet.
