They seem to have stopped (for now I guess).  When they call, I pickup but I do not say anything at all. Then a lady (with an accent) will say "Hello?"  In the meanest voice that I am capable of, I will then say "What do you want??" (clean version...LOL).  She always hangs up.  I've done this twice.  I also called them back and left a voicemail stating that I am reporting them to the police. I have not heard from them since.  The last time they have called was 11/26/08.  Then again, maybe they are celebrating Thanksgiving....LOL

I get these several times a day.  There are only two places where my phone number even shows up/or is known.  Do any of you use a TracPhone?  I got one to supplement my other cell phone to control costs.  It is a brand new number, only a couple of weeks old.  Just wondering if they had something to do with this.

Same experience as the rest of you.  Number called and did not leave a voicemail, when I called back I got the same recording stating it is the marketing department and to leave my name and phone number...I just hung up.  They called again the next day, I answered and when I informed them that I had researched and found several complaints of scams and fraud in relation to the number they are calling from the rep seemed irritated and paniced.  I asked that they never call my number again and hung up.  We'll see if they respect my wishes.

Generally, unless you have a lot of friends and relatives in different states, a strange area code appearing on the caller ID is almost always a scam.  Just don't answer- if it is something important, a reputable company will leave their name, reason for calling and a call back number.

I just got this call from this number who asked for me and I put the phone on speaker so my friends could have fun.  I replied with a fictitous language and accent and they kept saying, "Pardon?"  Then I made it sound like a recording slowed to 1/3 speed.  My friends were cracking up!  If they waste our time with these scams, I have fun wasting there's.  Good luck on the person notifying Lucre at Coldwater, Mi.!  But these calls come from overseas and filtered here.  The only way to avoid all this...Don't answer!  We did have a good laugh though!

I received a few calls I didn't answer, I did answer. They said they were calling to thank me for having a long-standing account with my credit card. They said they were with visa. Then they told me they wanted to give me free $50 gas vouchers. I got suspicious when she said she was verifying information. I didn't give them my credit card, but she had my last four digits. I asked what is the call and she said 2.00 for miling.
She then proceeded to punch numbers into the phone and they asked which credit card, and the last four digits, and her id number which she punched in, then she said are you ready? well then an antena went up and I told her I did not want it and that I was calling the bank to verify all her information. I said no thanks, don't sign me up, and I had to hang up on her. I also put a complaint in with Visa, because these people are calling saying they are with VISA and that's fraud!
I am reporting to the visa banking company.

This guy called and was speaking very quickly, clearly pushing me through the call, forcing me to say ok every other sentence, and speaking over me when I tried to ask questions.  He claimed I was receiving a $50 gas card that they were sending me, but were charging me $2 to receive it for shipping.  I told him I didn't want it and to keep his money but he said I was getting the gas card either way and I could call when I received it to cancel it.  The thing that really threw me was that he called a customer service line that asked for me to say my name, and the guy that called me waited for me to say it.  That was when I lost it and told him I wasn't interested and hung up on him.

I got a call from this number (2/12) on my cell phone in regards to a $50 gas gift card for my VISA.  I asked them what VISA card of mine this was in reference to, and they gave me the last four digits of the my card and hung up.   The CC digits were correct.

I have only given my cell phone number to one online markterer ever..!!!! and that company? SNUGGIE !!   I purchased a Snuggie the first week of Feb. and now these calls have started.

I have also gotten a call from another number (616-980-2600) for the same $50 gas card\VISA scam.  When I asked them what company they are calling from they hung up on me.

- will be calling Snuggie customer service tommorrow to complain.

i got the same number calling me i thought nothing of it i just thought it was a bill collect and bushed them off. but i notice that they called for my girlfriend and not me with the last for of my visa card. but i think i can narrow down the search to how they got my info. now i know a lot of people shop online offend so they think that how they got my card number. but how i believe they got mine is threw one site for me. and that the snuggie. yeah you seen them; the blanket with arms. i got them as a gift for my girlfriend and put her first name with my last name on the i never did that before. the Women that called me asked for her by that name just before she offered me a free $50 gas card. i thought it was weird. but now they won't stop calling me SO now I'm going to call the FBI on my finding.

This is the first time that I received a call fom this number. I have been receiving calls from 866 379 2003. 11 in the past two days. No one answers, no one is there when you call the number back. This is after asking Verison for some help earlier in the month with blocking two other numbers doing the same thing. I turn my phne off, and keep iton silent as to not constantly be bothered. SO FRUSTRATED!

I get calls from this no. every month, at least 2-4 times a week. When I answer no one speaks.  No messages.  I took it to be a cold call and do not answer any more.  The reverse look up shows Lucre, Coldwater, Mi.  My advise to any one have no contact with them.  It can only lead to trouble.

this is a scam about your credit card.  I received a call from them and nobody said anything back.  Earlier this week I got a call from another number in Michigan offering me something in thanks for my long standing Visa card member status.  When you call both numbers back you get the same recording "you've reached the marketing department, all representatives are busy....." don't buy into anything they say.

I received a few calls I didn't answer, so when they called again I did answer. They said they were calling to thank me for having a long-standing account with my credit card. They said they were with Mastercard. Liars! Then they told me they wanted to give me free $50 gas vouchers to try out a discount card membership for a trial for $2.48 and if I call the toll free number to cancel within 21 days I won't be billed for 19.99 per month. So, I wasn't sure how these people were going to bill me. I didn't give them my credit card, but she had my last four digits. I said what are you going to do send me an invoice? She said no, we'll bill your card. Well, if you can just send me the info I'll look it over, I guess. Great she said, I need to do a verification call. She then proceeded to punch numbers into the phone and they asked which credit card, and the last four digits, and her id number which she punched in, then she said are you ready? Ok, I said, then a recording about the program came on the line. And then it said you agree to sign up for a discount program AND an unlimited long distance calling program which will be billed to your credit card each month for 19.99! WHoa!! No way. Now I was fumed! I wasn't told about this and I am not signing up for it no way when she never metioned it and I just wanted to hear what she was selling. So I told her no I wasn't signing up and she persisted I could cancel I had 21 days, I said No thanks, don't sign me up, and I had to hang up on her. I am going to say that the reason the phone number shows on your caller id as Michigan is because these scam artists use broadband telephone services like Vonage and Earthlink that allow these guys to operate from foreign countries and call you with what looks like a United States phone number. It is bad business. I am also going to put a complaint in with Mastercard, because these people are calling saying they are with Mastercard, and that's fraud! And I called the toll-free number 866-904-3982 that I was given, and I spoke with a woman who was happy to speak with me and she told me they First Action gets credit card information from their marketing partners. I told her I realy don't believe any of the purchases I made online will share my financial info with marketing partners. That's against their privacy policies. It's downright awful. She told me her horror story about identity theft. And now she works with these losers, go figure. And I heard a dog barking in the background, she said she had a window open. But I heard the dog again. I don't think so. I thought I felt at ease with her because at least she sounded American. But I don't it mattered.
