I HAVE, ALSO BEEN RECEIVING MULTIPLE CALLS, MAKING THREATS, AS WELL. WHAT CAN BE DONE, IF SOMEONE GETS YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?

Wow the same thing is happening to me an indian accent guy keeps calling me stateing that i owe them money from a pay day loan that i nevered recieved . He treatens that charges are being filed against me he stated that if i pay them 500 by western union that my case would be closed. I called my family crying i didnt know what to do but now i am ok since i know other people went through a similar things.

Some guy who sounds Indian, saying his name is ADAM SMITH, keeps calling my work number asking for a colleague, but is just very creepy on the phone. He says he is with United Legal Services but he tells me he loves me each time he calls and makes other weird comments. He has called 9 times in the last 2 days. This guy is a freak. DO NOT TALK TO ANYONE NAMED ADAM SMITH OR ANYONE ELSE WHO CALLS FROM  518-212-1618!

I have been getting these calls. Has anyone caled the FBI? I'm going to call them tomorrow. This guy said he is going to keep calling until I get fired if I don't pay him the money.

I received a called from a gentleman that I could not understand because of his thick accent. He claimed to be from the law office of Richard Johnson in Albany, NY located on Washington Ave. Phone number he was calling from is 518.299.0362. He stated that Cash Advance USA was pressing charges against me for a $300 loan I of course never received.  He would not give me any other information as to the loan company, stated their paralegal mailed me the paperwork.  I asked what address they mailed and he refused to answer, threaten the cops would be at my door today but was still unable to tell me what address he was sending the cops to, asked me to send him $685 to settle this matter.  They do have some information due to a payday loan I did take out (and paid off) months ago.  Be very aware and do not take out a payday loan!!!

You know what I do with these kinds of jerks?  I got a fax machine and when I see the number on caller id I let them have my own fax!  Nothing like a high pitched blast to get them off the line and keep them off the line!

My mom received a phone call from someone who would not give a name but instead started calling her a thief and that she commited fraud and she would be arrested if she didn't pay this loan back today. I was contacted by my mom and she informed me of this so I decided to call them back and ask what it was about and they told me she took a payday loan out and I was like okay thats funny she don't have a job. so I called my mom told her to have her bank info faxed over so we could go over it she did and also talked to the bank and they told her that no money was put in her account nor was it taken out at that time. So I decided to go to my mom's and get on the computer and look up any information I could find well I did and it was a scam. I contacted the consumer affairs and they are going to have a lawyer look into it. In the mean time my mom informed me that they called her back twice and told her to go you know what herself. she told them the same thing back and hung up they called her a second time and she didn't answer. however the phone number we got where these 1-201-477-1459 and 1-646-502-9177.

Unfortunately my wife fell victim to this scam too.After my wife paid off a supposed unpaid $500 Payday loan debt.The same bozo's called again saying that we had another outstanding Payday loan debt of $3000.This time around I told my wife to get something in writing from them to legitimize the debt, before even considering paying this supposed debt. When my wife asked these people for some documentation,they refused and got nasty with her saying that if she didnt pay NOW that the debt would double and that they would tell her manager at work that she did not want to pay this debt.So I decided to call these lowlife broken English speaking bozos and told them "that I already filed a complaint with local authorities and was in the process of seeking legal action through my attorney.......Their response was hanging up on me twice.Finally I got through again and was transferred to the manager. This guy had a thick Indian accent with the name Richard Johnson ROTFLMAO.I told him the same thing about seeking legal action against him and he too hung up.What is this world coming too!!!!I have a question for any lawyers or proper authorities out there reading this. Can this be classified as cyber terrorism and should homeland security know about this.Btw my wife was also harrassed by someone from the same number and this time the guy(again with a heavy Indian accent) was going by the name of Sgt. Adam Smith WTF!!!!LOL!!!

I made the inital mistake of beleiving that my daughter owed a pay day loan and western unioned the money to them.  Since then they have been calling with more and more loan amounts.  There is no way anyone could possibly have borrowed that much money.  My husband called and told Richard Johnson to stop calling me at work or on my cell, byt he evidently is deaf or ignorant.  He always ends his phone calls with I love you and have a nice day.  I have reported him to the FBI, Attorney General, State Senator, and Maine State Police.

I received the same call an Indian guy who says he is calling from United Legal Services about a legal document and quoted the last four digits of my social.  This is frustrating.  I am reporting to my state crime office.

I have been receiving the same calls.  My friend fell for the scam last month.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!!!!

They called me twice today within ten minutes and both times I refused to answer the call as I do not answer calls with numbers that I don't recognize. The call went to voice mail. This person did however call my job and leave a message with a co-worker threatening legal action if I didn't immediately return his call. This person has an Indian or Middle Eastern accent but goes by the name "Shawn Williams". Do not give out any personal information to this person or company no matter how threatening they become. IT IS A SCAM!!!

Called me and said..something about money..and case will be filed..told them do what you have to and hung up..and the bastard called back!!..so did not answer...hope is the end of it..

I had the same call from an Indian posing as some legal department saying that I had illegally done some fraudulently activity from that phone number; I on the other hand was very verbally abusive, I have zero tolerance for people who call me and do not actually know my correct name. I also told him that he can direct any calls to my attorney but told him to F-off & hung up. Yo, got another one this morning. Told them to do whatever they need to do, but are not getting any money from me.

I did not answer the calls from 518-212-1618 and got this email from my mom:

I got a strange phone call from Cindy Brown, National Legal Headquarters. Financial Crimes prevention. They say they have your social security number, etc and are investigating you. She would not give me the name of  the department of the government she worked for. I pushed and she said it was Arrowhead Investment Co.  in New York state, no city or address. She refused to give me the address.   She gave me a phone number 518-212-1618.

I think this is a fraud as I know you did not commit any crime but they appear to have your personal information, your company name  some thing like Clarant Ltd and your title. They say they have other info, but  I did not ask for it. I am not sure how or to whom to report this to.

I could call the Sherrif. he said you were using an e-mail address fraudulently, which I know is crazy.

People with Indian accents keep calling saying they are calling on behalf a "legal matter" that will be pursued until I pay up.

Even after I said I couldn't pay, they STILL said they would call me and my job until it's resolved.

i also have been receiving these calls at work,they leave my actual ss# on the voicemail stating that i will be fired from my job and thrown in jail for 8-9 months. i called them back with a fake name and ss# and they actually came up with a file for this bogus person saying that this "brittany tanway"last four of ss# 1756 owed for a payday loan and had to moneygram 1552.00 or would be arrested.they have called my cell phone this morning 3 times starting at 6:45am.these are scam artists,they do not fdcpa laws and they have no jurisdiction,or legal right to collect on any debt.DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO.you can file a report to local authorities,but,there is nothing they can do.

I received a call from this number just the other day on my cell phone.. A foreign speaking guy quoted my supposed ss# and said I was the primary suspect in their file that had been received in his office....... I have contacted the different authorities to try and get rid of this harassment....

People with now French accents in stead of Indian accents call and leave my supposed soc. sec. number on the ans machine stating that I owe them money.  This is a scam and I am really tierd of the phone calls.

Called me and said..something about money..and case will be filed..told them do what you have to and hung up..and the b*****d called back!!..so did not answer...hope is the end of it..
