i finally got a hold of those responsible and I was told "they" got your number from Sears!
If you have a Sears credit card; be advised "Sears" gave out your phone number to the telemarketing companies for a fee... In very small print you must "check-off" the little box that you do not allow telemarketing; if not Sears will continue to give out your phone number

What says Jim, it is NOT true !
There is NO CHECK BOX !
Yes, we get that $%#@@$# phone call at around 8 p.m. every nights !
It is a pain !

So, this number has been calling me over and over... repeatedly for days... weeks...
I finally picked up today based on what has been written here. Yes, it is regarding card protection for my Sears card. I indicated that I am not interested. The woman on the other end was polite and thanked me for taking her call. I expect that the calls will stop now... stay tuned.

They've been calling me for weeks...all month long, in fact. The first time I picked up, I politely declined their credit protection program. The calls continued. I picked up a second time 3 days later and declined again, informing them that I have already done so. Keeps calling at least twice a day. Guess what, today they called me 9 times.

I also have been receiving calls from this #. I didn't answer when they called today, but I called the # back about 10 minutes later. It is an insurance company. You have an option of putting your # on their "do not call" list. I did this, I'll see what happens.

Thanks very much for the info, especially digging up and sharing that it was Sears! I never answered when the number called, but it was really starting to get annoying.
I've given Sears a call and have asked to be removed from their marketing partners list. They say it will take up to 30 days for the request to be processed, but after that I shouldn't be getting any more calls.

| Quagmire 2011-06-06 20:51:04 Unknown |
Just tell them there's nobody here by that name, they have a wrong number, and the calls will stop.

This number has been calling me everyday now. It is so annoying. I believe it is pretty logical that it is related to Sears when I signed up for their Sears card. I do not remember anything about an option to get out of it nor I was aware what this phone call is about.

Never anybody on the line, hang up when I answer. This has been going on for several weeks and frankly I am very annoyed. I signed up for no telemarters to call and obviously no one cares nor listens to what is requested by private citizens...the solicitation and telemarketers need to respect people and if asked not to call potentially be reported for harassing people.

Stop calling me!
| WILLY 2011-06-06 20:51:04 Unknown |
report it to the National Do-Not-Call Centre - enough complaints they'll get told

I have 4 different numbers that rotate calling me on my cell. I do not answer. I have checked on this site and 2 are from Scotia Bank and one from this insurance company who when I called back tonight had a recording that directed me to have my number put on the do not call list (which apparently takes 30 days!). I am hoping I am go down to 3 numbers to ignore instead of four.
