just registered complaint with donotcall.gov. this automated message keeps calling me from different numbers, i get a real person (different person every time) and they hang up on me as soon as i say something different from what they expect

They are still at it. Same number, comes up as wireless caller. I believe there may be a list for certain numbers to call that get distributed amongst these low life scum bags. These are not the only scammers calling on a daily basis. Multiple times per day and night. I get scammers calling about installing security systems (each time they call its a diff #..they hang up if you ask questions), a certain bank telling me that my account has a problem(they hung up on me as well), then theres the collection agent that calls from different#'s looking for different people to my phone. Anyone else get these? I am on the no call list. Its a shame i may shut off my phone because it is now beyond irritating.

Received call in February 2012.  Did not answer as unrecognized. They left no message.

This phone number has appeared for six months on my cell phone... When you call back the answering machine states that the mail box is full. The man who states his name sounds computer generated and only says the name Mike.

Calls from this number and a whole lot more #'s I never answer and they never leave a message...  telemarketer or some other credit card,scam etc.... on do not call registry and still get  these calls on cell

It's the same idiots again telling me that this is my final call and last chance to reduce my credit card interest rate.  I'll report them again but I don't think it does any good.

Received the call 3PM; pushed 1 got a woman, "Elizabeth" pretended to be interested to see how they acquired my unlisted cell number and she said, "It is computer generated due to my good credit and they have an offer for lowering my rates by the credit report industry..." I proceeded to tell her 1.) I am on the federal do NOT call list 2.) I legally did not allow my information to be given to her co and last 3.) they were harassing me (6th call in 5 days!!) and she hung up on me.

I too am sick of these calls on my cell phone. I texted them back, 60 text messages as I sent each word of myessage separately. I hope they get 60 calls from text to voice messaging system!!

Scam artists at work here.  They make like they are going to offer you a lower interest rate on your credit cards, but they are really after your credit card information.  You have to give them the right information to play along for a while.  When asked if I responding to lower interest rates, I said yes.  When asked for my credit card balance, I told them 15,000.  When asked how many cards I told them 2.  I told them one of the cards was maxed by the other was fine.  Then they asked me if I could buy a refrigerator on my card if I needed to.  They are asking you these questions about your credit cards and balance, to see if you are worth scamming.  Then they try and get you to give them your numbers on the pretense of coordinating a lower interest rate for you.  The number is from Tucson, AZ, but when asked where they were located, I was told "Account Services" is headquartered in Florida.  BEWARE OF THESE BAD GUYS.

why do we need a do not call registry,if they do nothing ? I have received over 20 calls this month.Verizon says I should change my phone no.Seems like a cop out,since every service is infected with this scum!Maybe VERIZON should dig a little deeper into this being they collect our money every month.

From what I have been able to put together on calls from Credit Card Services or a like named company, they use a Robo caller from numbers like the ones below:

The source of your number on their list seems to be from the 3 Credit Bureaus and the Direct Marketing Association. Credit Card Services buys a marketing list from the Credit Bureaus and DMA then harvests contact names and phone numbers from this list. They cannot get account numbers on the list, but you are on the marketing lists if you have some kind of credit to be listed (Home loans, credit cards, phone bills, electric bills, cell phone bills, etc).
You can opt out of the marketing list with the Credit Bureaus, it takes a month or so to take effect. To do it, log onto:

I also use the call blocking feature of my wireless carrier to block calls from Credit Car Service. Every day I add new numbers to block from this company.

All you that have your number on the donor call list are still getting this Cal thru cause these guys are running a scam.  Lol they don't follow no rules but there own the only thingf we can do is block any new number you get or better yet waist there time. String em alone give em a bunch of b***s*** infoplay with them for a Chang see how long you can keep em on the phone :) .

called twice so far today - I ignored the call, and no voicemail.  I know no one in AZ (or from AZ)

Got a call today from this number. Left no message. What good did it do to go on the do not call list if they are still going to be allowed to harass me. Stop them from calling me at home and on my cell phone. I belong to the do not call list for both of them. It should also be illegal for them to send me text messages that I didn't ask for. This is spam.

Old credit card scam; ignore calls from this number. Reported to donotcall.gov, as per usual, and am confident the government will not do anything about it.

When you get one of these calls, take a few minutes to perform a reverse phone number search on the internet.  Locate the name of the TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDER, find their 800 number and post it to this site.  EVERYONE who comes to this site should call that phone company and complain about the company (if known) and phone number that called them.  If we all start harrassing the hell out of the service providers using their own 800 number, maybe they will stop providing telephone lines to this spammers.  For the nay sayers who will say these are internet based lines, you can still  do the same thing. If we make it impossible for these companies to conduct their regular business by clogging their phone lines, they will stop providing service to the spammers.  Be diligent! Call these people that are empowering the ones that are calling you.
