I too was called from Indian guy from this number saying he was from Microsoft Tech support.  Was very convincing.  Unfortunately I allowed him to connect after I was somewhat convinced.  He was able to show me various sites about this so called adobe flash virus, a csrss.exe system virus and other things on my system which not knowing anything about computers, wasn't aware was fake.  It was probably a fake page on his pc.   I questioned him til I lost confidence, he said he could fix for a charge, etc....   I quickly disconnected but felt compromised at that point as I figure they can infect my pc with with malware within minutes.  Therefore, I contacted Microsoft and worked with their Virus removal and security group.  I got the main number from the website of 800-642-7676 but was later given 866-727-2338 for the virus desk.  Ether way, you will eventually get there.  They were wonderful.  I did have to pay $99 but they cleaned my pc thoroughly, ran scans, removed Adobe and Adobe flash/reloaded them and loaded Microsofts Security Essentials.  They were very helpful and answered my questions and showed me what to look for, etc.   Essentials is actually a free program anyone can get from their site but I needed the peace of mind my pc was clean as I am not computer savvy.  I hope no one else fall prey to these monsters like me.

This number (555-248-08430 called today, poor connection and so he called back.  Indian accent, claimed an "update" was sending them error messages.  Claimed to be from Microsoft.  I reported this # and guy to Microsoft and they indicated they pursue these idiots aggressively and thanked me for the info.  Idiot called me back (3rd time) and I told him I reported them to Microsoft.  He cursed and hung up.

Report it to www.ic3.gov. Internet criminals do not respect unlisted numbers and the DoNotCall Registry any more than burglars respect locked doors and windows.

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.
It is especially dangerous now because criminals are actively attacking unpatched Java security holes so don't let anyone into your PCs.

Prank Call
Seemingly convincing "microsoft technician" with indian accent until I asked how he got my cell # and he replied the microsoft database that I registerd with has my information.  When I challenged him to tell me my name he couldnt.  Then he tried to direct me to google to search for a patch to adobe flash player by entering facebook adobe flash and I knew for sure it was a scam.  When I called him on the scam he started spewing obscene sexual things he wanted to do to my wife and kids.   People like this need to be hunted down and put away.

I got the same call saying he was from Microsoft... same info about adobe and critical problems that needed to be fixed.   We finally hung up on him and he called back.   Who do you report this to.  My number is unlisted and on the do not call list.   It is definitely a scam and Microsoft confirmed this.

This person calling stating to be my tech support company.  I do have a tech support company with the "same name" so they say they are calling to help me with a virus and they want to take care of for me.

Got the same phone calls from this number several times this week, automatically knew it was a scam because the person on the other end claimed to be a rep from Microsoft and wanted me to log in to my computer so he can "fix" critical errors being caused by a recent installment of Adobe Flash Player. I told him to "F*$k off because I knew exactly how my computer is working and Microsoft would not initiate calling a residence just for that. He had an indian accent. I called Microsoft to verify this and Microsoft confirmed it was a hoax. Report this to your phone company's security department.

This number with the caller ID vagmine has been making a number of calls telling me they are from Canada and that he works for Microsoft. He wasn't the only one online because I could hear another person breathing heavy on the line and told him that I couldn't understand him very well with this other person. He asked if I had Adobe Flash player installed on my computer or if Adobe Flash Player has been recently installed or updated. I told him I didn't know and that my daughter would be of better assistance to call back in like 20 minutes or so. As soon as I hung up they called back 3x's. I answered the first time and he asked when he should call back and I repeated by saying in 20 minutes or more. The other 2 calls I didn't answer.

Have received several calls from this number early in the morning.  Have told the callers on more than one occasion to cease calling.  On latest event, caller, claiming to be computer tech support, gave several names for his company, none of which I could understand because of his accent.  After being told to not call, caller asked to speak to wife, saying, "I have a very big c*** and I want to f*** your wife."  He also said, "I want to sex your wife," among other things.
