I contacted the city of Dinuba about this.  Two minutes after my inquiry I heard from the Deputy City Clerk who thanked me and said she'd forward my email to the Dinuba PD.  That was 9/19/2013.  I'm sure that Dinuba's finest won't appreciate some scammer posing as a representative of the Fraternal Order of Police.  I'd like to picture them knocking on his door.  Ha!

Still getting daily calls from that number.  My call blocker prevents it from ringing.  I checked the call history and sure enough, it's that same number every day since Sept 15th.  Tamianth's suggestion to ask the real local PD about it is excellent.  Heard back from Dinuba's Deputy City Clerk two minutes after I inquired about it.  Awesome!

Might try asking the real local PD about it! Some of these charity's are bogus or  very little goes to the actual folks they are supposedly raising money for. The money mostly pay's some one a nice wage.  A real charity is happy to get what ever you give them and not tell you a set amount or dun you for high donations.  There's a lot of worthy charity's out there with a bit of research. Look for the ones who pay out the most and keep little for themselves.

called me on my work phone!  I dont know how they do this.... but anyway I asked how they got my number (and we just moved in to this new building by the way-- so everything is new).... the lady on the phone said she can't really tell.  $25 for the police?  What?  she asked me if i'm uncertain to call 1866-686-9523.

Get at least one call a day from this number for a week now.

Man firmly stated he was calling us from/for the "Fraternal Order of Police" and that "the call would be recorded".  When I said "No thank you" he spoke right over my words so I hung up.

Our Caller ID showed it as Dinuba CA on Sept 15 and Sept 16.  We did not pick up the phone because we screen our calls.  Another site showed others receiving that same annoying call and it's Steven from FOP or Fraternal Order of Police, but it's most likely a scam.  We now use Digitone Call Blocker 10, so now when telemarketers call the phone doesn't even ring because it has first ring suppression.  Family/friends and contacts we invite can call and reach us because then our phone will ring.  Now we have peace of mind knowing we can answer our phone without any hesitation because it will be from someone we allow to call us and NOT from any telemarketers.

No need to be uncertain - it's a scam.

These people have been running this scam for more than a decade. I've been getting these calls at least that long, off and on. The number is probably spoofed, and the callers sound like they're located out of country.

Yes, the person said he was with the FOP, and about some donation kit, as soon as I mentioned I come from a police family he hung up. Now I am really suspicious!

I get calls daily from this number.  They never leave messages and always hang up after the 4th ring.  Grrrr..

Our phone message is in French, and that deters a lot of these calls but, the first time I heard Dinuba, he said, "The message is in Spanish," and hung up. He calls daily, at dinner time, and hangs up before the French message guy speaks up.

blah. I have heard this before. They talk about an info packet and make a lame
attempt to remove my number from their list.

No idea who or what this number is. Am assuming it is just another scammer.

Get a phone with caller I D and call blocking. I got mine on sale at a discount warehouse - five phones with speakerphone - for one hundred dollars. Call the phone company and get caller ID. Use the instruction book, and block unwanted callers. My phone ringer on one phone, or all five can be set to silent.  From 9 pm to 7 am, for example. Which ever time you wish to program the one, or all.

Gotta call from this number, he says something like California central police.  I didn't even understand what he is talking about. Then he hung up.

What happened in September. This number and another are ruthlessly calling. They need to be arrested. It has come to the point that I will turn off my home phone
