I did not answer the call but it looks like a good one to block.  A call came in from 618-462-8724 (Illinois), which I did not pick up, and then immediately my phone started ringing again with from this number (California), and then my phone also registered that it immediately blocked 6 other calls that were from unknown or private numbers.  Pretty relentless whoever it is.

Also got a call from this number as well as a couple of others with new york area codes about "let us help find your missing pet"  must have gotten it from craigs list.  Heaven indian ascent.  Called back repeatedly.

  I just got informed by my son....that my grandchild found a prank site an it was her calling an you can select different prank calls.  It's voice activated so when u speak it starts talking. Payback are a bi***

Just got a call from this number...almost impossible to understand the woman's heavy accent.  She knew our last name, and asked for the main computer user in our home. I said it was me and she proceeded to tell me she was with some computer center and they were getting bad messages from our computer.  I told her this is BS, and she said No, it isn't!  I said "yes, it is BS" and hung up.  What amazes me is that today is 6/5/14 and I see posts on here from 2011!  How can this still be going on?

I received a call last night, late from this number. Sounded like a call centre with lots of noise in the background as someone else stated.  Claimed he was from Microsoft, I told him b***s*** and that he was a scammer and that I would be reporting him,,,I then hung up

Guy with Indian accent calls and tells me I have spam and possible virus coming from my computer.  I said oh yeah where are you calling from.  He says he is with IT Solutions in the maintenance department.  I was like is it coming in right now.  He was like yes ma'am.  I was like how is that possible my computer has not been turned on in a year.  I said this is a scam and I am going to report you.  He says yes ma'am.  I was like I have another computer too and it is tracking your call and location and the Feds will be there soon do you understand.  He said yes ma'am and hung up.

Just got a call from them.  They left a message.  It was a man with an India accent.  He claimed he was calling about my missing cat, naming the cat, which means they got my telephone number from craigslist.  Jerks are praying on people with missing pets.

559-386-9701 left a message on my voice mail on 4-3-13.  You could hear shuffling about and then someone made a noise like they were trying to sound like a bomb!  The crazies walk among us and have access to phones!

Luckly I realized this was a scam. Indian accent so bad I couldn't understand him. He also got a supervisor. He said he was from California. I finally hung up on him. He kept telling me there was a message of a Windows error. I't is a scam

Habib is a scammer...

They tell you that your PC has been used to send spoof e-mails/virus linked e-mails. Telling you that your pictures/documents/personal files could all be at risk... in an effort to induce panic, I suspect. Most people don't think straight when they're in a panic.

My guess... they would have wanted remote access to your PC... so they could "fix" , the "problem".

KNOW YOUR IP ADDRESS - Go to whatismyip.com ... write it down.

If/when they call again ... ask for the IP address of the computer in question.

If they claim it's your computer ... they should have no problem telling you what your IP address is.

He hung up on me too. That's good though. I doubt he'll be trying again.

They called me last week ... I asked him to verify his identity by stating my IP address. I said ... if you know it's my computer, you know my IP address ... correct?

Two or three seconds of silence ... then I asked him what he wanted from me... exactly.

*Click*

He hung up.

There's so many stupid victims out there, The owner of this call center owns a Ferrari and a Bentley. STOP SENDING HIM MONEY!

I got a call from a man with an Indian accent as well, speaking about windows also from what I could make out. He too, claimed to be from micosoft. When I asked him to clarify what this call was about he hung up.
This really had me baffled until I read similar stories here. The bigger question is what do they really want?
The guy didn't even try to sell me anything before be hung up.  It was just weird.
So has any one here had any problems...since then with their computer or their accounts?

They pretended to be from Mircosoft, obvious Call Center, lots of noise in the background. I pretended I wasn't me and not home. Call center  dude was a pro and didn't believe kept going on with his scare spiel. Took me four or five times asking him to leave a message until dude got frustrated and hung up.

I  just received a call from  559-386-9701.  What  a scam.  I talked to Microsoft and gave them this number  and they said they don't call customers about infected files.  I am from Edmonton Alberta.

Just got a call from them.  The lady named herselft Jenny, calling from I.M. Computers.  She had an idian accent.  She seemed like she was reading from a list to speak to me.  She was saying that my computer was infected and had major problems.  I was sure this was scam.  She was able to give me my physical address.  But she couldn't give my IP address or my computer name.  How could they say then that it has problems and it`s my computer.  She was skrewed up when I asked her multiple question.  I'm an IT guy so you can't fool me.  I told her I don't beleive her and that this is scam.  She said my computer has a problem but I don't need to convince you about that, and that it's my problem if I don't believe her.  Than she hung up.  Not very professionnal here.  

As a mather of fact, my number is listed in the Do Not Call list in Canada.  They shouldn't call me in the first place.

got a few calls from this number then decided to play along. when i couldn't understand the ladie on the phone she put a man on the phone. when i said pardon me the guy then said f u you f in bit#$ then hung up on me. LOL i think microsoft should do something about there falsifying the name

they called here and after a huge run-around about virus spam ?I'm sure Norad was alerted?I told them I did not have windows but utilized a trusted and reliable computer, the commodore 64. I was told they did not have any thing that would work on the latest computers, so obviously, so she said, there must have been an error on their system.

It's just another scam to get your credit card.  I can't believe people fall for this, but they do. I answered one and kept him on the phone for 15 minutes, playing along, pretending to go on my computer and all that...then I just told him he was an effing liar, can't wait until the police catch you!  Added it to my block list, but they change numbers so I have to keep recycling the block list...it is stunning the amount of calls I get from this particular scam.

I just got a call from this number. It was a man with a heavy accent, supposedly with Microsoft. I asked to speak with his boss and told him I knew this was a scam. He admitted it and said he obviously wasn't really with microsoft.

Received multiple calls from this number about my "Windows Computer," I have a Mac, and know this is a scam. He asked me if I was a certain person and when I told him I was not her, he proceeded to talk to me as if I was that person. I told him the next time he calls I will be contacting the police.

They were calling me first with this number : 607-739-8256

and as I could not hear the guy correctly he called back with the number on post.

I let him spoke then I told him he was hacker and he would be better to find a hionnest job, then I hand up.

An other guy just call me again said they were junior, etc... and told them to don't call again.

This is really amazing to see this kind of phone spam.

It's also funny as I have 4 computers, I repair computers, and knows a little about virus and some other stuff.

The idiots called me too.  I couldn't even understand the guy, his english was so broken.  He was saying something about windows.  When I told him I didn't know what he was talking about he asked me if I knew what a computer was! haha  That's when I swore at him and hung up the phone.  Jerks.
