Same thing. Stella Anderson..consider it sold. Bank check would be sent,when cashed she'd pick up the item. Informed her/him that I do cash only and give my address only at the arranged pick up time . I added that i   would hold the item if this arrangement was satisfactory. I then google her number and blocked it.

Received a test message from 559-759-6079 on 01/18/2013 for a tractor I posted on CL. She said she would pay and pick the item up. And her name is Jenny Herr. Since the number was out of the area, I thought I would check it also. Told her cash only and have not received a reply.

I do NOT want any calls from rhis number. I know it is a scammer and don't appreciate.

got the same thng today. said they were def. i told them to use a relay operated after looking number up here. my cuz is def so i know how it works. i called them out . no more texts

Got the same message from Jessica Kinert from this number  254-230-1127 but this person told me they were moving to the area. I got a check and have not cashed it. The scary thing is they knew about the area around where I live, although my post on C/L is listed from another city.

I just got a text from jessica kinert, 559-759-6079 txt me all the same things she text others. It really bothers me that people have enough energy to go out and scam but not get a real job. I really appreciate everyone elses info which helped me before I made a big mistake. Thanks so much I hope this will save someone else from this mess!!

We all have the same story.  I called and reported to the FTC.  They wont act on it unless there is a trend of similar incidents.  I SEE IT HERE.  You all need to report as well.  FTC # is 1-877-382-4357 press #1 for complaints, press #1 for identity thefts , give them the situation, the phone number, the names.
Also the Western Union ID info.  They all go to the same person in N.C.

Trying to find out who owns this phone number.

This "Jessica" k texted me about an add I had on cl. She asked for my address to mail a check . Very very similar to these posts on here. I knew it was a scam. Please beware!!!!!!!!!

I got a similar message from "Jessica Kinert:" she wanted my TV stand but was currently "out of town" so was going to send me a check, I could wait for it to cash, and she would include a little extra for the movers. When I was moving, I did arrange ahead of time to buy some things in the town I was moving to (although I made sure to send my friend the money to cash and he picked the things up for me in person!), so I was silly enough to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I did actually get a check mailed to my brother's house (for safety, I at least was wise enough to not give out my own address, and he said I could use his), but it was for three times my requested amount. Supposedly this woman is from Texas, check address was from the east coast (and NOT from Jessica Kinert), and it was mailed from California. After receiving check, I asked why it was for so much, and she said I was supposed to go to western union and have a money order made out to a "mover" in the carolinas. Really? Y'all don't make TV stands east of the Mississippi?

Initial contact was at a decent hour; followup, however, occurred at 3 in the morning. Some of us work during the day and are trying to SLEEP at night!

Thank you ALL for posting--I thought this lady was just a little eccentric at first, but I am a college student with a tight budget and certainly do not have the money or time for this kind of monkey business! That is one big check I will NOT be cashing. Anybody else need a TV stand? Apparently I still have one for sale!

6 being responsible for thousands of dollars of merchandise

What every Craigslist ad should say "NO Paypal, NO Western Union, NO Greendot, NO Checks. LOCAL only, CASH only". The scams vanish overnight.

That's what I thought at first.  Then I read on C/L that banks will cash a fake check and then hold you responsible for it weeks later when the scam is dicovered.  Not worth the risk for me.

I got the same txt ref a table, gave her my address said shore mail me a check... other than no check will come or the check is bad, what else do I have to worry about?

This number texted me regarding a C/L add. Wanted to send me a check and pick up my item later, after the check is cashed. The name that was used is Jessica Kinert and she said she was from Waco, Texas.  Please read the posts under phone number 702-625-3115. Same person...same scenario.  This is a scam!  When I texted back saying that I read up on C/L scams and I would take "cash only" I got the reply "Go away"...hmmmm.
