Received call from solicitor this evening, June 23, 2011, asking for donation to state trooper, gave non-profit organization of Reg # CH-260. Saw posts here and may be same phone number - could not bring up last call received on my phone to get phone number, but could not find name on Verizon reverse number look-up. Caller said her would send me a orange and green invoice for me to send donation back. Sounded so leget, I believed him and gave him my mailing address. DUMMY ME!

Received call at 12:44pm today - asked if I wanted to support law enforcement / state troopers.

This number called Jan.7, 2010 at 2:45pm and left no message. Thank you to those who post on this site, I now know who it was.

This is a group being paid to solicit donations. They are NOT a legit LE organization. Fact is, they keep half of what they collect, and the other half goes to the LE union, whether Highway Patrol or FOP.  None of the donations go to street-level LEO's. That's what taxes are for.

Received a call from 561-247-9811 at 2:08 PM on Monday, March 8, 2010 on my CELL Phone.  As soon as I answered, the line went dead.

Happened today; 5-ish pm. Idiots. scammers.

*** IDENTITY THEFT ALERT *** The Caller ID phone number is BAD, I tried calling it back. This is the typical Police and Firemen scam where they ask for donations. I have NO idea how they got my cell phone number, but I reported them to www.DoNotCall.gov for unlawful practices. This guy claims he is with the "Florida Association of State Troopers". His voice was very convincing. They read from a script. These con men are prepared to FALSELY answer the most detailed questions you have. Claims they are a FL registered non-profit 501C-5. Claims their registration number with the state are CH-260 and SS-371 or S-371. I asked for this specific information to post online. They claim they will send an information packet to your home address. I told them I am a 17 year veteran court reporter for Collier County FL courts and told him he is giving false information. He abruptly hung up. They are IDENTITY THIEVES who need your address and then need your credit card information for long term theft. IT IS A SCAM!!! I PERSONALLY KNOW THE FL STATE TROOPERS. NO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY EVER CALLS FOR SOLICITATIONS, EVER!!!!

BULL!!!! I got a call too, but (me) with my dumb self, I listened to him and gave the BLANK my card number. I got him to give me a call back number, a 305 AC, which (guess what?) was also NOT a working number! I got on the phone with my bank and cancelled that card 5 mins later. Thank god it was NOT too late. Now I'm just waiting for a call back from that BLANK! I know I should be slapped silly for giving him my number, but HIM, if he is a scam artist, he's no better than a thief and a thief should have their hands chopped off, or at LEAST have all their fingers broken.

Not very legitimate if it doesn't provide a working callback number.

This is actualy a legitament law enforcement organization that is attempting to collect donations for its programs. If you would take the time to listen and do your research you would find this out

Called my house at 6:40 central time.  No answer, called back and got the same disconnection notice.  However, my caller id shows that the call came from West Palm Beach, Fl.

Called at about 8PM EST. Called hung up when I answered. Very annoying. This guy needs to be stopped.
