it is NOT the PBA.. it's a scam.. the Palm Beach Sheriff, local towns, FL state Police, and other agencies will not solicit by phone (trust me, 2 of my neighbors are high ranking palm beach deputies)

If you call 561-304-0041 they are supposed to remove your number.  I called and told them they are rude and disgusting and will never get a dime from me, and I support military and police, but not with tactics like that.

They just called and said something about FL state troopers and recorded call, and WOULD NOT  let me get a word in edge wise that I already give to charities so I hung up on them.  This is the second call from a similar type like thing and I am tired of it.  They won't give you a chance to tell them to remove your number, they just keep talking.

I just got a call from them also, and the caller ID identifies them as PBA.

If anyone is interested in logging your phone calls automatically, I use an app on my PC with Win XP, called" PhoneTRay Free. The phone lines connects in the Telephone Modem Jack on the PC (If you still have one), and when a call comes in (if the PC is one), it will display the caller number and ID onto the PC Screen and at the same time log the call to a file.

These idiots keep calling asking for someone else by name. When I tell them they have the wrong number, they just slam the phone down. Except once, when the gal went into a sales pitch for the PBA.

I slammed the phone on her. It was slightly satisfying.

allegedly, 561-296-1967 is the Police Benevolent Association...very fishy! They sounded very suspicious.

Caller claimed to be from the Palm Beach County Foster Kids Program.  I asked her to speak up, since I could bearly hear her and she hung up.  I looked up PBC "Foster Kids" but these is no such thing.

They always ask to speak to me by my last name and I say "she's not available, can I take a message?" (because I can tell it is no one I know.  Nobody calls me by my last name) and THEY ALWAYS HANG UP!

I will make it a point to never, ever donate to the PBA because of this.  They just shot themselves in the foot! HA!

I've been getting these calls too...they hang up as soon as my machine comes on...frustrating...especially because this is my business line.

I called them back to see what they want. Lady answered "Police Benevolent". I said, "Someone just called here". She said, "they were just calling from 'police toys for children', you can just disregard the call, dear." I don't ever pick up callers I don't know.

Charities need money and I give, but never, never to anyone that uses the phone to solicit even in the rare case that they are legit.

I called the number (561) 296-1967. The person answered the call "PBA". I informed them that I was on a "No Contact" list through the state of Florida. They hung up on me.

they were on my caller id, at a lawyer's office on Saturday.  Though the person they may have called may be messin around.  So, to the lady who sent a comment, watch your husband and document the calls and times and look them up on the phone bill.

called on a Saturday 9:00 am asking for husband????  Refused to leave message & when I asked who it was, they hung up.

It is the Police Benevolence collecting charitable donations based in West Palm Beach, Florida.  They called again since my last post and I answered and asked who they were.  I looked them up and they are legitimate, but I asked to be removed from their calling list and the girl was actually very nice and understanding and she said she removed me. Hopefully she really did.  In any case, not a number you need to avoid calling back to be asked to be removed.

I think they are calling to solicit donations for firefighters/policeman, but I can't be sure.  When I try to call back it says it is an outgoing number only.

Asked for my husband and refused to leave a message.
