They just called and asked for Bryan, since I am a business I pretend that Bryan isn't here and can I take a message, I figure if they knew me they would recognize my voice and if they don't then I know they are just trying to sell me something. Anyway, he said no, I will call back later and just hung up.
I get a call from this number everyday and I am on the do not call list for business's too.

The number being discussed in the above thread is 561-632-3947, but in one of the posts my business line (...-3847), which is one digit off from the above mentioned number, has been incorrectly listed and causing this thread to be associated with our number. We have had this line since May 2008, and do not make telemarketing calls, sell commodities, hang up on our callers, have any association with Pioneer Commodities, LLC, or have a fax machine connected the number 561-632-3847.

This line is owned by The Essex Recruiting Group in Boca Raton, FL.  We are an IT staffing company. If you have seen this number on your Caller ID, we are most likely contacting you regarding a job opportunity with one of our clients in the South Florida market.

They called looking for my mom and she does not live at my house.  I asked if I could take a message and he said no, trying to end the call.  I then told him she didn't live here and asked what this was in reference to.  The man then hung up.

Anyway, did some digging and this is what I found- the number is to a company called pioneer Commodities.  Here is all of their information:

Pioneer Commodities, LLC
Royal Palm Place
101 Plaza Real South
Suite 207
Boca Raton FL, 33432

Phone: 561.362.3945
Fax: 561.362.4187

web address: http://www.pioneer-commodities.com/index.php

Good luck!

I was called by these people as well; I am a commodity stock trader. The company is Pioneer Commodities, LLC. Though their pitch is very aggressive and off putting, I checked with both the CFTC and the NFA and they are a completely legitimate company dealing in options trading.

They opened for business in late 2005. Pioneer Commodities LLC have had only one complaint lodged against them to date, case number 07-R028, lodged with the NFA, which was dismissed after arbitration.

I opened an account with this firm.  A little pressure but Im a big boy, I can take it.  I bought contracts on the crude oil.  My broker is a loud mouth this is true.  This firm doubled my money in short amount of time.  Only invested money I can afford to spend. Glad I moved when they said to move.

I understand you may be upset.  Investors do loose money, my brother in law is vp at smith barney, he has lost me more money than you can imagine.
You may be upset with this party, however, if pioneer does not get your money, only the market does. Commodities are very attractive right now and speculative.  By the way, a spread postion can be a useful stratagy.  Did you leave because of your inability to sell, or inability to understand the markets.  Shame on you.

The truth is, these guys check out!  Whether you like it or not.
Their industry is  very much patrolled.  They are on the up and up.
You do not send them money, they work with a very large clearing firm that
gaurentees all transactions.  I suspect they (the brokers) are young and full of energy. (see the movie "Pursuit of Happiness")
I could be wrong but maybe they have clients that are doing better than the average portfolio.  My money says that's the case.  Wall street meets Main street.  Brokers are typically persistant, regardless of what the name above the door says.  I think it's wrong to assume too much.  Get your facts straight, you too will understand.

Why do they need to be stopped?  If they are in good standing with the regulators, wouldn't you be exicited to be a commodity broker too?
Don't confuse high pressure with excitement.  Remember, if you live on a commission only job, how would you behave on the phone?

I have received a number of calls from these guys as well. After listening really more like giving the guy a hard time to test his game lol I did give him a chance to "pitch" me, as it turns out they are a reputable commodity firm in South Florida. I have been a commodity investor for years and have my ways to research any commodity firm. They have been in business for a few years, trading things like corn, gold, oil, copper etc. I'm sure they like every other investment firm commodity or stock have a phone room (large room full of entry to mid level licensed brokers) who are pounding the phones trying to make their way in the business by building a book of clients. Some of the brokers as like ANY broker I have ever meet are quick, fast talking, slick, go getters, now somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but isn?t that the kind of guy you want working for you??? Even more so in these type of fast paced markets??? Look what?s going on around you, gas prices, every time I turn on the news there?s another crude oil high, gold prices near $1000 per ounce etc. To sum this all up I advise anyone to comment here or anywhere for that matter to do their homework before they just assume who is legit and who is not. Slander can indeed cause damage, most of which is just ones opinion and is not fair to anyone unless you can back it up with facts, which I do have, again Pioneer is legit, unless you prove otherwise, I call your bluff.

Sincerely,
Brian

I personally know these individuals and used to work with all of them. Do not invest, you will lose everything you have! The owners of the firm whose names you will never hear or see profit off of your foolishness and live lavish lifestyles in South Florida. Check out www.nfa.futures.org and cftc.gov for the list of S. Florida firms being shut down and taken to justice. These individuals are very convincing but believe me they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to trading in the markets. I bet they want you to take advantage of the spread. HAHA, don't believe a word!

Got ANOTHER call from these folks again today.  Just as Dusty mentioned, the guy on the other end said that we'd talked months ago and I asked him to call me back.  Wrong.  Anyway, these guys ARE jerks so I played with him today since I know the one thing they don't want to waste is their time.  So I wasted it for them.  This is something you can do for fun also.
Let him do his pitch, put him on hold a couple of times as you go to answer the door for non-existent visitors.  Ask him to go into detail on how his investment proposition is better than Social Security, or anything else, and take the opportunity to start a discussion on how the upcoming - or any - election may effect your investments.  Persuade him to go into much detail and analysis.  You may even want to lament the "fact" that one or more of your family members have dreaded and/or catastrophic diseases and are desperate for investments that would help in defraying medical bills.  ANYTHING to keep him talking.  DON'T reveal true personal info, instead make up fake info when asked for the value of your assets, retirement plans, etc.  Then, after an extended chat, get up to answer the door again and mention that the doctor is there to take you back - back to hospital.  Make sure to give the name of the local mental care facility.  Thank him for his time, say goodbye.

In the end just remember that ANY way of wasting their time is the BEST thing you can do and the LAST thing they want.  Their success depends on the number of calls they can make each day.  Make it obvious that a call to your number is a BIG waste of time for them and they may consider not calling back.  I'll know before too long whether the "wasting their time" strategy worked for me.

Pioneer Commodities called this evening acting like my best buddy. I asked how he got the number and he said I was on some "SA list". He said he talked to me a few months ago and I told him to call back. I told him that was impossible because I was on disability for the last year and no longer actively investing he went into high pressure mode. What a jerk. The do not call list is a joke. I 've been on the list for three years and still get calls every day. <sigh>

The caller said his name is Jeff and asked for me. My wife answered the phone and he acted as if he knows me. My wife told him that I was out country and to call late sometime in December.  When I reverse-looked the number it shows the number coming out of Florida in the Ft. Lauderdale or some where in Boca Raton areas. I hate telemarketers and he better doesn?t show at my door... I hope he shows up on my door step and I will have 18 steamed roses waiting for him, "if you know what I mean". I told her to never remove again the telemarketer zapper which we have (you can get one from the local electronics store as counter measure), and that should be enough to keep these individuals from calling. As an extra measure to call the phone company and put a block to all unknown incoming calls without names and numbers.

I just received a call from these clowns on my home phone. I didn't recognize the number and did not answer. Within a minute they called my cell phone so I answered thinking only people I know have that number. WRONG! Some yell talking guy introduced himself and asked how I was doing. I immediately hung up and googled the number and here I am. How did they get my cell number?

Caller said his name was Jeff Deblasio from Pioneer Commodities. He told me his toll free number was 877-513-6374. High pressure from the get-go. Mentioned gold commodities. I asked for his web site and he told me 877.com something or other. Then the scam listings showed up in google. I questioned him about it and he said to check it out and call him back when I'm ready. I doubt I'll ever be ready.
