Woman called, asked for our HR Dept, which we don't really have. Then asked for the person who handles employee benefits, but he was in a meeting and I told her so. She asked for his name, I told her I couldn't give it out until I knew where she was calling from and what she wanted. She said very rudely "I'm from Benefits Xchange, now what's his name?" I asked if we currently use them or if this was a sales call, and she got very nice "oh no no no, this isn't a sales call. Now what's his name?" I asked what it was about if it wasn't a sales call and she got nasty again, told me that if I couldn't help her, she had ways of finding out the information she wanted. Then she hung up on me.

Received a call from 401k exchange, they are very rude, misleading and obnoxious. Insisted on talking to a specific Board member. Asking for information that we do not give to anyone.

This guy was rude, pushy, and totally full of you know what! Called back after I politely told him we used a 3rd party to administer our 401K plan and then hung up. Second time I told him we were on the do not call list. He said he was doing a fiduciary review of our current 401K plan and presented himself as working for them in this capacity. A total lie! My boss talked to him for a few minutes while I googled the phone number and name on caller ID and discovered exactly what I had suspected.
BS Telemarketer!!!

They called consistently when I took over the executive position. They always ask for the CFO. I used to get Coral calling every week, but now it's Natalie Juliano. She also mentions my boss's life insurance plan by name - which I don't know how they got that info. Relentless telemarketers!

Is it really necessary to resort to profanity to make your point?

These guys call every day. I've been working with the public a long time. I know how to handle these guys but they are still annoying! I can't believe that companies like this that harrass with their phone calls and tactics think this is the way to get customers.... It's beyond my comprehension that this tactic works for them! Who wants to do business with a company or people that act like this!
So what I do when I see their call on the caller ID is answer politely, I don't give my name when I answer, I tell them I'm going to put them through to my boss, that his name is Charles Beck (who is a dead relative and is now a joke code name in the office...) and directly put them on hold. I pick up every now and then and ask if they can hold alittle longer and place them back on hold. I come back on the line again in a little bit and tell them he's harder to get a hold of than the president, and politely put them back on hold. I keep this up and joke and carry on with them which cracks up the other co-workers and sometimes other coworkers pick up and say they picked up accidentally and they will go get the boss. I figure this wastes their time and money and after they figure out they wasted their time and we're playing with them they hang up frustrated and pi@@e% off. I love when they call! It perks up our day!
The extra perk is now they call in and ask for Charles, Charlie, or Mr. Beck, like they are his old pal and best friend, and we all know it's a sales call!

Called asking for our controller. I transferred it to an extension that doesn't have voicemail. The jerk let the phone ring for 4 solid minutes before giving up. Unbelievable!!

Annoying and persistant. I have their number next to my caller ID. When they ring in I pick up, then hand up the phone. Perhaps one day they will get the message.

Interesting that the company name has changed..... Was told the company name is Emplyer Health Care Exchange.

Lori with 401K Exchange & Ratings called from this number, asking for the company president (she asked for him by first name). She talked very fast; sounded like she was on amphetamines. From what I could understand of her incoherent rambling, she wanted to review our employee benefits, update our fiduciary report information and ensure we are in compliance with government guidelines.
The president of our company does not administer the 401K plan, so she asked for the wrong person to begin with. She gave her contact number as 877-777-4015, extension 3385. The name on my Caller ID was Benefit Xchange.

Sales call. Caller tries to imply that they are calling about the current 401K plan at the company. Very insistent--"I need to talk to the 401K benefits administrator NOW!"-- even if they have names 4-5 years out of date. (In this case they were looking for the company that used to have this number.) Tries to sound official but it's just another solicitation. Sleazy scumbags.
While they present themselves as "reviewers" who help companies with ERISA compliance, what they are really trying to do is sell you a 401K plan. Some callers have even threatened to "turn them in" for not accepting an appointment. The implication is that compliance is required by law (NOT TRUE) and that businesses are breaking the law by not cooperating (again, NOT TRUE!!). Talk about bold faced lies!
Check out 401K Exchange on RipOff Reports. They screw their own people as bad as the they screw the clients.
Beware.

Calls and asks for our CFO by his first name only as if she's a long time friend. Calls like that go to the executive assistant especially if it's an out of state area code.

I just registered at www.401kExchange and already regret it... received telemarketing call an hour later from this number. Looked online and there's no way to opt-out of spam or calls via 401kExchange. Don't register for 401k information on that site - it's not worth the information.

lady asked to speak to the President of the company, said her company name was 401-K. I told her we had no dealings with that company. Her response, "so you're not letting me speak with him", I said that's right. She said she just call back! Some of these Telemarketers must think we are stupid!

I took a call from them today - it's the second time they have called me. The woman who was calling was talking and laughing when I answered the phone and didn't bother to stop her behavior until I had finished with my greeting. She was rude, speaking very quickly - always a red flag! And finally I just hung up. She tried to call back four times. After I hung up on her the fourth time, she finally stopped.

Called and presented themselves as representing our current vendor. If they were, they would have known that we don't do business with that group any longer for our plan. Kept asking me if I was familiar with ERISA - I'm HR, I hope so. I asked to discontinue the call and he proceeded to argue - nicely, I will add -kept asking me over and over what had he said that I didn't want to continue. Cut me a break. I said I was no longer comfortable with the direction this was going - it was no longer a survey but a sounded like a sales pitch. He insisted it wasn't but his comments said otherwise. Also if you were through our vendor as he claimed to be - why did he have to be transferred from someone else in our company. He didn't know my name and he originally tried to call our President's office. I tried to be nice and end the call - told him I didn't want to hangup but if he didn't end it, I would. Went through that back and forth for a bit and told him I was done. Goodbye.

Unfortunately, the Do Not Call List does not apply to businesses, so you are wasting your time registering your company's phone number. It would be nice if the government would extend the same rights to businesses, who are having valuable time wasted by telemarketers who do not get the hint.
The best way to deal with these callers, I have found, is to simply hang up on them before they have a chance to say anything (when you know it's a call center by the tell-tale pause followed by a "Hello???" from the other end or the noise in the background). You can also forward them directly to the person's voicemail. They never leave a message, so they'll eventually give up. If they bounce back to you when they get voicemail, just say the person is unavailable. If they become rude or abusive, hang up. Legitimate callers will not use foul language or pushy tactics, as they know that will not provide them with a good business relationship.
I get lots of hang-ups now, because the telemarketers have called so frequently that they know my name and that I won't put them through to anyone. It's nice - they don't waste my time, and they can move on to harass someone else.

Re: calls from 561-439-5252 "401 K exchange" They have been calling us for over three years! They are relentless! We have gotten to the point that we have posted the phone number since we have caller id and we take turns answering the call. It gives us all a chance to vent a little of our personal frustrations as most of us are having financial problems. We do not watch our language with these people and yet they KEEP CALLING! So they must enjoy the verbal abuse.

A woman called and asked for my boss, who was truly not in, and regardless, does not take sales calls. I politely asked to take a message; she said it was regarding our 401K, and asked who the decision maker was regarding our 401K plan; can I make a decision regarding our package. I told her my boss has no intention of switching our 401K at this time. She began to get annoyed, I asked her if it was a sales call, she said no and became rude, she asked "if I was listening to her, and claimed that ?I didn?t listen", I said "We are on the Do NOT Call List, please remove our number and do not call here again". She was rude and said (yelling) "you are not listening to me" I said "You are right, I?m not going to listen to you" and I hung up. She immediately called back twice, , I told her to remove our number, she DEMANDED my name, and I hung up on her. Then she called back again and yelled something like "let me tell you something"... I said "No let me tell you something, I have your number and if you call here again, I will report this to the police as harassment".
I then went to the National Do Not Call website (where I just re-registered our phone number's last month, and I filed a complaint.
