Got charged for 32.29 U.S.DOLLARS on my credit card bill for a subscription renewal for this magic jack number 561-594-2140. I do not know this number!!!

I signed up for Magic Jack in 2012 and asked for my existing phone number to be transfered. A month later, Magic Jack sent me an email saying they couldn't transfer the number. No explanation, no instructions on what I should do next. MJ then refunded my payment. I heard nothing more until a couple of days ago when my bank account showed a $32.29 charge for Magic Jack, with this phone number in the description. I didn't authorized this charge, and I've never gotten phone service from MJ. We'll see what my bank does about it.

MagicJack after they get your credit card number will set up your online account to automatically renew when your subscription is up each year or for however long you paid for it.  Unless you go into your account and change it they will continue to do so.  In my case I purchased the original MagicJack (standard) and later purchased the MagicJack Plus and ported the original phone number over to the plus and stopped using the standard version.  MagicJack auto renewed the standard MagicJack charging me for a service I no longer used.  Here is where the problem begins because the only customer support is online chat and it is a maze of confusion. You will never be able to talk to a proper department with your problem.  I urge anyone who uses online payment with a company that has very poor customer service make sure your credit card is not listed in your account and do not automatically renew.  This is a hard lesson to learn and beware of a "ghost" company without a strong physical presence and contact numbers you can call to help resolve problems.

In my Credit card appear a chargue from this number in October 16 I do not why. I have my Magic Jack but it is not the chargue for renew my service it is another chargue.

If you received a charge from this number for your MagicJack.

It is because you have just renewed your account subscription
or if you feel the charge just popped up without your authorization...
You most likely have your account set for auto renew.

Thus far I have been happy with the service for placing calls and the line is used continuously.
However, with the rise in cost to $33.29/year, this will be my last renewal.
I have recently purchased a Net Talk module and my FAX machine works perfectly over that line, whereas MagicJack refuses to adjust their technology to accept data but still wants to pump up the cost.  
This was supposed to be phone service for $19.95/year.  
In closing I have one last statement for them...

Same thing here. Actually I was charged two times: 32.29 and then 45.17; both from MAGICJACK.COM PHONE 561-594-2140, FL!!! I have just renewed mt magic jack numbers 2 weeks ago till 2019 and I am pretty sure everything is up to date. I don't know what is going on!

I think we are victims of magic jack scam. Why does magic jack allow this kind of fraud like activities?

Some one charge 39.32US$ with this number from magic jack account, I do not know the person or persons from this number. Must to get the person doing transaction and stole the time and money.

Magic Jack is a scam.I have tryed 4 different times to pay my bill.My Credit Card has been charged as it shows payment magic Jack LP 561-594-2140. Have tryed 2 different Credit Cards to pay them and each time the page keeps refusing the card but Magic Jack is taking tha payment and when you talk to someone on chat helpline as it's the only way to contact them.On the chat they tell me they have no record of my payment but it shows 4 different times on my Credit Card as payed to Magic Jack.All Magic Jack is doing is taking peoples cash and not providing them with the service that was paid for.It has been 3 months since those transactions and still no service,so I just went back to my regular phone provider.Apparently this has happened to many people who are getting screwed by paying and not receiving.

Just some suggestions.  Your bank will probably tell you to call the number and see if they can explain the charge.  ask the bank what happens if you do not pay it and then explain why in writing on your bill.  Talk directly with the credit card company fraud division.  They can put the charge on hold and investigate if you have a good reason.  might help.  go into your bank branch and tell a floor banker you think it is a scam.  looks like there is a lot of this going on.  print out this page to show all the people complaining and take it with you.  Call your legal aid society for advice.  Call older fiends who may know a lawyer who will talk to you for free. You may get free help.  There is a lot of number hijacking going on.  ask about how to limit future liability on your accounts.  good luck

I have a charge of 31.39 on my bank statement from this number and I need to know how to get it off.  Calling my bank to stop any payments to MagicJack.  I always pay anything I owe as a one time payment on my own.  Please help.  This is a lot of money for me since I am unemployed at this time.

just got our credit card statement for Dec., and there it was, a $41.92 charge from magicjack .com to 561-594-2140. We NEVER subscribed to magicjack, this charge occured on De. 25th, Merry Christmas to theses crooks. I'll be talking to my credit card company and bank, we all need to go after these scammers and crooks

I didn't get a phone call I was checking my bank account and found a 33.01 charge for magic jack and spoke with them and they show no record of any orders.  It is a giant scam happening with the tag of magic jack.  Be careful

I just checked my bank statement and this number came up as a magic jack charge. I didn't do any transaction with them so I don't know how they got it. Canceled my account just for this charge

I received a charge of $1.05 on my card , forgot that this one time charge was for a warrenty replacement that i agreed to pay for when i hooked up the majic jack , went online and they told me what the charge was for i had just forgotten about it , they were very helpful, there were other items offered also for different charges so maybe some of the above people forgot that the agreed to them like i did.

I have had my MJ for years and NEVER had a problem with them. The number, 561-594-2140, shows up on my CC statement when I renew. The 20 dollars is for auto renewal and the 10.and change could be for a number change. I changed mine once and was billed 10 bucks and change. Read the fine print and turn off the auto renewal if you can't remember next year. MJ is still the best bargain for phone service anywhere.

I am replying to this ancient post in order to better place some information everyone coming here should know, and which does not appear elsewhere in the thread.  Based on this thread, it appears you are being charged for "zombie" accounts.  

I suggest that you file complaints with the FTC, the FCC, and your state's attorney general.  The links for the first two are below.  To find the third, search on the name of your state, along with "attorney general consumer complaint".  In other words, if you live in the State of Confusion, "Confusion Attorney General Consumer Complaint".  I have tested this search string for a number of states using <www.startpage.com> to do the search, and I got good results each time.

I quit using MagicJack a long time ago, I use my cell phone. On my dismay, on May 14, 2012 this phone 561-594-2140 FL,  from MagicJack appeared in my credit card statement. I was shocked, when sow reports from many people about this outrageous acts.  How to stop these illegal transactions???

i justgot that amount on my bank account too and i never authorized them to do so i reported it to my bank and they r going to issue  me anew card for precaution

Yes, that is the same phone number on my banking statement too. Guess MJ isn't as safe as they say it is. Hope you fixed your problem. If you did, advise us how to do it ourselves. Thanks.

Checking our statement today I found numerous charges for the phone number 561-594-2140. I do not have that phone number with Magic Jack. I just recently started the Magic Jack service and they are to charge me one fee annually. What is this about? I think someone else is making calls on my phone number and that is wrong. I am contacting Magic Jack to get the charges credited back to me.
If they do not I will cancel the Magic Jack and report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Now I am contacting the bank to tell them those charges do not belong to me.
What a mess just to save some money due to the economy...now WASTING time to fix A PROBLEM THEY HAVE....geez.

Wow, it seems like I'm not the only one who has the same problem. MJ charged my credit card for $31.39 with no reason, not to mention there's none of my credit card information was registered under my account. I wonder how MJ got it.

The information appears on my bank account shows "MAGICJACK.COM PHONE 561-594-2140 ,FL 33405".

I received a charge on my American Express that I did not make or order. Transaction date January 19th, 2012.

No auto-renewal for me. And this number was used to bill my credit card for $11.04
