I need to make a formal complaint against the Palm Beach County Council of Firefighters - Someone called from there this morning and asked for Mr. Rabb and I said that Mr. Rabb had not lived here for 25 years at which point the gentleman on the line said. " I doubt that sir!  I doubt that very much! - and as I was trying to explain to him that I know Earl personally since he was a pastor at the church I now serve... he hung up on me.  This kind of behaviour needs to be reported.  I don't think he realized my history with Firefighters and how this kind of treatment is not at all representative of the service.  Now, you will probably say don't worry about this, but this is the second time they have called, they left a message for Mr. Rabb the last time.  I have called the number and left a message for someone to call me back.  I could not believe the treatment I received on the phone from this supposedly respectful organization.  thanks for your attention to this. If there are any "Locals" supporting this organization you had better think twice, they are not helping Fire service.  John D.

Dear Palm Beach County Council of Fire Fighters and Paramedics,

You have been calling the above number for several years now to solicit donations for your organization(s).  Every time you call our home, we very politely ask to be removed from your list.  Despite this simple request, you continue to call - sometimes more than once a day – to look for donations.

We only have a home phone because the alarm company requires one.  We never give out our home number, not even to family.  We are on the “Do Not Call” list.  Our number is non-published.  We have small babies in the house, and we work odd hours.  A ringing phone is just not for us.

You initially called our home randomly.  Someone then listened to the name on our voice mail to obtain our names (which don’t match what was listed at the phone company at the time).  They then started calling the home and addressing us by name, as if they knew us.  This creeped us out so much, especially with how frequent the calls became, that we disconnected the voice mail.

It also seems you have given our number to other similar police organizations -  we know this because in Fall 2006 we gave you a fake name and now calls are coming in from other organizations for the fake name we gave you.  This is extremely upsetting.  

The guerilla tactics you have used take away from whatever good you are trying to accomplish.  At one point I was even threatened that if I had a 911 emergency, nobody would come because I didn’t donate.

Since you do not seem to wish to respect my verbal request to stop calling, I am now putting my request in writing with hopes that this will put an end to the NON STOP calls that I have been suffering with for SEVERAL years.  I am not signing my name to this letter because you will just use it to try and trick me on the phone.

I am STILL getting calls from "Center Stage AT" almost daily, and I know not to answer, and I know when they hear the answering machine they hang up - but I guess I forgot that I had posted on this site, and when I looked up the number I found my previous post - it seems this has been going on for over a year now!!

There needs to be laws... legislation to stop this . . . Please, WRITE or EMAIL your congressman and tell them about this - if enough of us do this and if we are as determined as "Center Stage AT" is . . . we CAN make it happen!

We recieved a phone call from 561-689-6464.  When we picked up, it was an open line and finally they hung up.  We called back and got an answering machine stating that it was the Fund Raising office of the Firefighters. We have had calls similar tho this one in the past, and the folks have been pushy and rude.

We receive 2 or more calls a day from 561-689-6464 the called ID labels this number as Center Stage AT.  We never answer this call but it is annoying to be called so many times from this number.  If you try to call the number no one answers and you get a voice message stating memory is full no messages can be left.  I don't know how they are in possension of our phone number but I would like the phone calls to stop.

I have also been receiving calls from them...   But I have one additional tidbit of info..  I had applied for a job with a telemarketing company and normally they do not tell you what the job entails, but i was able to find out that it was for collecting for the fire department.  They outsource for donations !!  By cold calling !!!  I hope that you folks won't hold this against the fire department.  If you understand how outsourcing works, the fire department is not aware of all of the methods that may be used by these people to solicit donations..  They may, however, be interested in hearing about it, which may cause a crack down on some of the less ethical cold callers..  Especially if a large number of people were to make their opinions known directly to the local fire departments.....  I hope that this may give others the inspiration to resolve this as a group....

Am receiving calls from this number daily. When I pick up, they hang up. When the answering machine picks up, they never leave a message. Just blocked the number through AT&T....dial *60....hope it works....

I've been receiving calls from "Center Stage at.." for months now. Finally, a few weeks ago I answered the phone. They asked for me by name, but I never said it was me. I kept asking what is this call in reference to. After they kept asking me if it was me, they said something like, "OK, well I asked you 3 questions already so thank you." And he hung up! I swore never to answer a call from them again. They just called and I did some searching. They will never hear from a person in this house again.

I recieved a call soliciting money and was very concerned because the person was so pushy and got a little nasty.  I was actually afraid that if I didn't say I would contribute they would not respond if we need them.  Then I talked to an EMT and was told to look it up on line.  I am so glad I did!  The pressure I felt was frightening but now that I see that they have done this to others they won't recieve anything from me.  I give to organizations that I am passionate about and I can't do more.  If he had not been so rude I would have explained this to him.

I keep getting calls at various times where the caller ID screen shows "Center Stage" and there is no answer.  Yesterday, I hit the # sign quickly several times and hung up as I was informed this would take my number out of the system.  Today at 2PM, it was back and I waited for someone and, of course, nothing.  When I went to check any missing messages,  one of the prior "center stage " listings showed a 689-6464 phone number.  I went to old faithful -Google- and lo and behold, it appears to be the Palm Beach County Council of Fire Fighters & Paramedics.  On 9/28/09 and for many years, I have returned the alleged pledge letters to Mr. Mike Mayo, the President informing him to cease and desist.  By the way,  the phone number on the Pledge letter indicates (561) 689-6464.  I understand that they had used and still may be using the Gehl Group od Florida as a professional fund-raiser.  How can we stop them.

I seriously doubt this is at all associated with Palm Beach Country Fire Rescue other then some scum bag firm using their name. The fire rescue folks are paid extraordinarily well in Palm Beach county (10yr guy avg comp of a little over $100k) and don't need donations from the public to survive.  Those days are long gone for both Fire Fighters and Police officers in pretty much all of South Florida. If you don't believe me goto the Sun Sentinel county employee payroll databases online and look for yourself.

I just had a prank call from this number.  A week prior it was a solicitation for a donation.  The person called in a very abrupt manner and treated the call as if he was a collection agency trying to coo,ect a payment.  I told the guy i dont know who the f#$%! he thought he was talking to but his attitude just cost him the sale we donate annually an never will again.  Furthermor we have also been added to a list we are getting calles from every police department and fire agency in florida now these guys are scum bags and need there a**es kicked.

I will not tell you which one. I Will say they have offices in 4 different states that I know of.
Florida, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Oregon.
The numbers that will show up on your caller ID will be changed every 3 months or so, since that is when they re-run their lists.
They call for Firefighter, Police, and Vets.
If anyone introduces themsleves as calling from CSA for (charity name),
Know that only 20% of the donation goes to the charity.
Also know that the solicitor gets a minimum of $10/hr.
If the solicitor collects over $1200 in a week they receive a 10% bonus on anything above that.
The management will tell you not to lie. But if caught say, or do nothing.
I have seen people lie and say they are vets getting minimum wage when they were NOT a vet, and while raping the bonus system there.
I have seen some of the older crew be disrespectful to older people.
"I'M DONE LADY! WE'RE SENDING IT YOU WILL SEND IT BACK LIKE LAST TIME!! BYE!"
or
"LOOK MAN! THIS IS FOR THE VETS IF YOU CAN'T COME UP WITH JUST $20 FOR YOUR VETS IT'S A DAMN SHAME!"
or
"ARE YOU FINGERING YOUR A** TOO MUCH?" wait for astonished response "NO, NO, NO I SAID DO YOU FIGURE WE ARE ASKING TOO MUCH?!"
Just a few of the examples of the rudeness you may hear if you let them continue to talk.
My advice, as a former employee. Report EVERY call you get from them to your state attorney general, as they are delinquent in most states that require registration to call.
If on the Federal Do Not Call List, be assured they WILL call you, and please make sure to report it accordingly as they all add up to a MASSIVE debilitating fine that could result in them not being able to operate anymore.

These people do  not let up! They have been calling my house for months now.In the past 10 days, they called 9 times. It's been a nightly frustration because they hang up everytime I try to pick up the phone.  I called back their # and left them 2 messages telling them to put me on their do not call list and never call again. I told them that I would have to report them if the calling didn't stop. Well, they didn't stop! I finally blocked their number on my phone-but u can still hear my phone ring a little before it gets blocked. It's just enough of a reminder that they're out there-calling and usually at my kid's bed time.  I'm fed up! Now, I am getting phone calls from other fire/police organizations for donations on a weekly basis.
Hopefully, we can all work together to shut these people down!!

It's be going on for months and I do not answer and they do not leave a message. Months ago I did answer (without caller ID on the phone) and it was for fire fighters. If this is a third party they can keep up to 90% so do give and keep complaining. Go to

and file a complaint. The ID number can be from any where in the world and not necessarily from Palm Beach County. Via voice over IP (VoIP) telephone, it can be connected anywhere in the world that has internet access' The IP phone will register at a server in Palm Beach County. It's just like you connecting your comuter anywhere in the world to the internet and be able to log on to your service provider.

SOOOOO GLAD I didn't answer!! Don't have an answering machine on the phone they called so I presume they'll get bored eventually...Apparently an unlisted number and the Do Not Call list do nothing
