Debt Collector
Just had this person call me today leaving me a message on my voicemail claiming to be from free law health group threatening me with a lawsuit and to contact my payroll to garnish my wages if I didn't call back within two days. Figured it was a scam considering I'm self employed and he was trying way to hard to sound professional and use correct English grammar, I replayed message just to laugh.

Also - email is not a valid legal means of "serving" a court summons, nor is it an acceptable means of mailing proof of debt/proof they can collect said debt.  Per the FDCPA, no one should pay any caller who refuses to mail - do not accept email or fax - proof they owe a debt and proof the caller can legally collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of federal law.

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
 If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Any one who gets a call from these jerks I have done some research and this is a scam. They also call from other phone numbers. They change their names and change their law firm names every time they call, but call from different phone #s each time you block the first one. Ok so here is what I learned after digging.
Phone # they first call from is 561-692-3901 there is also area code 512.
Law firm names they have used:
Houston Law Firm
Karino something Law firm
Washington D.C. Federal Court

The person who calls uses these names:
Mark Karino
Andrew Jackson
pretty much any name they make up and if you look online most of them are names of people of other identities.
There is also a lady who calls too who uses a name of a British model. Amy Jackson.
They all have the same heavy foreign accent, it's the same person! Same lady! Only two people!

I have called every bar association they claim they are affiliated WITH OR attorney for law firm they represent. Bar Association had all said, they are not real law firms or persons. They are impersonators. Other things they try to say is they are law enforcement and having you arrested. Officers, FBI, or law enforcement DOES NOT EVER CALL THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THESE MANNERS OR EMAIL THE GENERAL PUBLIC. What these people do is get your information off of some form you may have filled out online some time ago. They use that information to collect and fake a debt collection attempt. Remember, this is a scam and illegal.
They even go as far as emailing you a fake loan document and fake court summons with fake statute codes that do not match the states code of law statutes which is another way to find out if they are impostors using wrong statutes. They will curse you out, threaten you, and call you 20 times a day. They will use extortion. DO NOT PAY THEM ANY MONEY!!! It may seem legit, but it is not. If you have had debt in the past this is how they steal your identity and try to commit fraud. They also claim on voice mail you are being charged for financial fraud. Or you stole checks etc. They are garnishing your wages etc. There is a court process for garnishing wages by the way. You have to have a civil suit already processed in court and have a judgment placed on you after you go to court. The debtor would have to fill out a wage garnishment request through YOUR LOCAL COUNTY COURT. So again, this is fraud. You don't just magically have garnished wages like they think you do.
None of which they claim are true. They will say anything to scare you and hope you fall for it. They will never identify them selves in writing -only by phone. They will say they will only want to speak to your attorney. I did have an attorney call once, just to mess with them. They wouldn't even talk to the attorney in fact threatened him violence and said he was make believe, when he was a real attorney.
The only way to get rid of them is to change your # and pay the extra fee through your phone service if they charge it to change your # and to have it unlisted. It is worth it or they will keep calling you for years at a time using different #s names and different law firms etc. They are like a freaking virus you cannot get rid of these scamming harassing a-holes.
Do not ever confirm your name or other pertinent identity information once they have it, they can do as they please or try at least. So I hope this helps anyone who may be experiencing this. It took me years to get to the bottom of this, but they still blow up my phones and threaten me.

came home the man left a vile message saying if I did not call him back in 2 days he would be contacting my state, and my payroll department to start garnishment of my wages. NEVER left a name, what I was allegedly to be garnished FOR, and what "legal" type action that would require these measures..I HAVE NEVER gotten a call for this number before, if you call it it is a looped message saying calls Ren't being accepted at this time. The reverse lookup says it is in Florida, Boca Raton,  DelRay Beach area. The caller is a foreigner with an accent sound much like Middle Eastern. MY wages are from the government, my telephone for reasons I can not divulge is tapped for my security. This one might want to rethink threatening me. JUST SAYING...I'm going after this jerk and his little doggie too, my pretties....wahHahaha!
