I received a call from an out of the country number 0810677698 and by the name of Paul Right with the Dept of Law & Investigations telling me to contact him at 561-948-1417.  He has an accent with an American Name.  I also contacted FTC and Attorney General in Louisiana and also in the process of pressing charges for harassment phone calls to myself and my children.  When you ask them what is the name of the company that is filing against me they cannot give me that information.

I have received several message from this number, they call me at work and they call me at my cell phone. They leave threatening messages.  Also, I get calls from the same number, with a different number to call

The message was left with an person with an accent named Steve WIlliams and asked for me to call back. The number that my caller ID shows is 0810.677.698. If anyone has more information on this please advise.

Hey if u know how to handle them, then they are helping in nature. i had a debt of $788 with cash advance and with the help of them i got 50% off on my debt and sattelled the account.

I hope you are not referring to a "pay day debt" you supposedly "owed".  If so, you got scammed!  These so-called debt collectors use American names and say they are calling on behalf of some investigations company and tell you that their is a pending lawsuit pertaining to your name and social security number.  They are CLEARLY NOT Americans.  They can't hardly speak English for Heaven's sake!  They trick you into verifying your personal info. in order to settle a debt.  However, they use your info. to settle a debt by debiting your bank acct.  Then, they take that info. and use it to later clean out your bank acct.  I hope this has not happened to you.  It would be a real shame.  Just thought I'd share this with you in hopes of avoiding further catastrophe.  You need to contact your state attny. general's office, your bank, your police dept. (file an identity theft report) and the social security office.  It is of the utmost importance.  It will save you from any further damage being done.  You might also look into some form of identity theft protection plan.  I hope this helps.

I have had the same phone calls and you can understand  word they are saying and when I call it always to a different place.  They have somehow found out where I work and they call me at work, home and on my cell. I do not believe they are here to help at all if it was for real you would have an american calling you in a nice way telling you you are being taken to court.  Its a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, am i glad i googled where is 561 area code and anyone getting threating calls from an indian guy at a call center claiming he is a police officer. Cmon a call center acting like a police station, how many police stations do you know that have 100 out sourced indian customer service reps???  I was actually a little nervous until i found this site, with all these scams and identity theft going on these days you never know. Again once i read all the blogs on here i feel so much better. :) Damn are they rude on there voicemails but always hang up with a may god bless you or have a blessed day. Lately it's been good luck or your attorney better call me or ill face the consequences. There crazy and such scammers, they want me to pay a debt that is not mine!!! Wow what a joke, now that i think about it i do remember picking up the phone once a few months ago, couldnt understand the dude so we kind of went at it cause he was yelling at me for no reason, i called him aaboo.  They got a manger that spoke some what decent english and he said i got a payday loan from Bank of America and i need to pay it back asap or i will face charges,whatis my account number for an ach debit payment will settle for 40%LOL. We went at it again and i told him to F### off like i have done in the past to rude telemarketers or debt collectors, i couldnt believe my ears but he told me to F$$$ off right back and hung up on me. I never had a CS person sware at me.
      Anyway since you guys were so helpful and i got a few laughs out of some of your blogs let me for worn you, NEVER GET A PAYDAY LOAN unless you 110% need it. If you do always read the terms & conditions and i would recomend going to a payday store it self.  Get this I applied for a pay day loan with 7 online companies and got denied every time. Here is the good part, i checked my bank statement and i saw negative $400 some dollars!!! I had 4 unauthorized charges. Im talking $175, $100, $49.99 $75 and get this i had $30 in my account, hence the reason i applied for the payday loan. So not only did i get denied on every payday loan, there are so many litttle discalimers that say you will be charged  x amount of dollars just for applying for one. Man was i pissed because on top of there fees i got hit $35 every time for NSF fees from my bank. I was only able to get 1 nsf reversed from my bank, i got 4 out of the 5 payday loan fees refunded,it took 2 days to 3 weeks, of course when you need the money it takes 3 weeks but 200 cash.com inc or something (stay away from them) are the WORST!!!!!! They did not refund my money because there customer service # is a recording and the $50 fee or whatever was non refundable and if you were negative in your account there will be another $25 bounced check fee. So 200cash.com inc costed me $50, $35 nsf from my bank  and $25 from them. I think they no your hurting financially and if you have a legit bank account they will prey on you more, basically kick you when your down. I think next time they call i should try to collect debt from them LOL and speak in a different accent. Hope you guys got a good laugh out of this blog.Take care

Haha, I really hope that was a joke post, if not then you got scammed. Either that or you're one of the scammers that are calling everyone and trying to make your company sound legit.

This is all a load of crap. I recieved a call stating that a friend of mine had a debt and had used my name as a reference. Due to my friends so called poor debt management, that I was a guarantor on the note because my name was used as a reference. Paul Wright (HABEEB) said that if I didn't take care of this matter that charges were going to filed against me in the court of my state on Monday morning. I called them back and was transferred from Paul to Ken Jackson (also HABEEB)and another supervisor (also HABEEB). They told me that if I got my friend to take care of this debt, they wouldn't bother me anymore and no charges from the "department of law and investigation" would go against me. I told them that I am a police officer and that this all sounds funny to me. They asked how it's funny and I said that it isn't against the law for him to put me down as a reference and that it doesn't gaurantee I'll pay the loan without my saying so. I then told them that it was however against the law for people to make threatening or harassing phone calls and they hung up on me. I called them back and asked where they were and Ken said at the "department of law and investigations". I then asked if I wanted to mail his a** a letter, what exactly woul I address it to. I got hung up on again...Don't fall for this crap people.

All of you guys story sounds exactly the same as mine concerning my boyfriend. The guys I spoke with were 'peter and john martin' (yea right with an accent like that). I couldn't understand a word they were saying and asked for an american so john put peter on the phone. They continue to call my house for him claiming he owes them money for a cash advance. He didn't handle them the way I thought  in my book, so I talked to them. Not only did I call them but I harassed them by calling them over and over threatening them just as they've been doing him and told them " I'm on my other phone with the 'bbb' and your phone # doesn't have a buisness listed under it and they need to know the address and city location you do your buisness out of?" They started stuttering and every time they tried to say something I'd interrupt them, acting rude just like do and they of course hung up on me without answering my question. We all need to contact HELP ME HOWARD! That's what I'm gonna do. If enough people contact him about this type of activity, he will investigate it and resolve this issue.

I've been having the same problems. They are saying that my husband (which they keep referring to and she)  took out a payday loan last November, which he did not and I told them I have the bank statement to prove it. They have been calling all week they know his SS# mine and a friend of ours not to mention the fact that they know our checking account info. I'm so sick of these people calling me. Does anyone know what I can do about it?

These people are crazy.  I received several calls from this yesterday.  They even took over my voice mail on my cell phone.  When my family called my cell phone last night these people answered.  I had to call my cell phone carrier to have them assist me to get these people disconnected.  They have also said that it is for settlement of payday loan.  Last week at work I received a call from them but they were using phone number 530-402-8910.  They even called my sister last night at her new phone number which she has only has for 6 months.  What can be done?

Why is there no way to get these people from calling,  how are they finding out peoples information?  This is very scary to me that just anyone can find out your work number and cell number.  What can be done?.  I told them to send me paperwork in the mail and I would turn it over to my attorney.  They say that they are trying to collect on a pay day loan.  I can barely understand them and when I asked to speak to someone that spoke English, he said something that I totally did not understand at all.

THIS MORNING I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE EXACT NUMBER. I DIDNT RECONIZE IT SO I DIDNT ANSWER. THESE PEOPLE LEFT A THREATING MESSAGE, "IF I DIDNT CALL BACK ALL THEY CAN DO IS WISH ME GOOD LUCK!"  THEY WERE VERY RUDE AND YELLING.  SO I DID CALL BACK. I HAD A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING BECAUSE THEY DIDNT SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL.  AFTER A MINUTE OF ARGUE WITH THE "ARRESTING OFFICER" HE TRANSFERED ME TO HIS SUPERVISOR.  BOTH WOULD NOT GIVE ME THEIR NAMES!  TURNED OUT I WASNT EVEN THE PERSON OR KNOW WHO THE PERSON WAS THAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR!  I TOLD THEM THEY NEED TO BE SURE THEY ARE CORRECT WITH THEMSELVES BEFORE LEAVING MESSAGES LIKE THAT!  THEY DIDNT APOLIGIZE!  I WISH I KNEW A LAWER TO HANDLE THESE PEOPLE!  THIS IS NOT THE WAY I NEEDED TO START MY MORNING!!!

the number 561-948-1417 called my friend and said the same thing so i called to see if i could get their company name and the guy knew who i was!!! Also he said his name was Dan Morgan and that my friend took out a pay day loan.. which he didnt... and that he would have us arrested because he is a police officer, which i called the police station and they said it was a scam.. police officers dont call and collect debt or threaten ppl. This is a scam dont fall for it!!

someone called me from the same number but his name was Paul. Says my cousin owes money and because she put my name down as a reference he can put charges on me. i hung up in his face becaus he could not tell me what company she owed or any information about the company

I received a phone call on my cell phone and office phone from a gentlman named Calvin Watson, who has a deep accent.  He says there is a legal case against my name and social.  The phone number that is on the caller id is: 810-677-698, which is not a complete number.

Can someone please send me some information or help in dealing with this situation?
