Obvious scam!  Their robot tele-server called yesterday warning my company google account had expired and had been made available for anyone to acquire.
I hung up and labeled their number "BULL S***" in case they called again.

Got a call from this phone number, no one answered when I said hello, but I get these types of scammy "Google Business Listings" type of calls weekly. Usually just the same type of recorded messages already mentioned, like "our business isn't showing up in google searches" (not true) or "we need to claim our google+ business listing" (Also not true, as I personally created/manage our company google+ page).
I just hang up right away, unfortunately even being on the National Do Not Call Registry doesn't seem to stop them.

Yep - Just call a call from this number, too.  When I answered, no one said anything, and after I hung up no message was left.  I think whoever this is called last week, too, and I let it go to VM, which, of course, the caller didn't use.  IDIOTS.

STOP CALLING ME!!!  If I did not answer the first time, I'm not going to answer in the future.  They are calling 1 to 3 times a week even if I blocked them.  This is mad!!!  Somebody please stop them!!!  They are driving me crazy....

Received call from this number on my business phone, which is listed with the "do nothing: DNC. Didn't leave a msg. Disturbs my business.

If you listen to the whole message "Hello My Name is Mike and I am a google + Specialist" blah blah blah at the end it says press #2 to be removed from our list. In my head I was like THANK GOD, and I dove at the phone and pressed two....and the message started OVER...."Hello my name is mike....." *head desk SLAM*

This is a scam! the REAL Google Places does not charge a fee.

The # 562-387-1004 keeps calling weekly.  I answer hello a few times & there is nothing but dead air at the other end.  I've had other numbers close to the above number where there is a voice message from Google when I answer the phone with a hello.

Got a call from same number (562-387-1004) twice yesterday - Mike with Google Plus.  I hung up and did not talk with him.  Why is Google harrassing people with these calls?  Isn't Google satisfied with owning half the world (it seems)?

the "google" people make the automated voice message sound desperate. Like you better press one or somethings going to happen to your website.
So, I pressed one - and asked, I'm confused, are you asking if my website is "verified" - or is google trying to sell me something
The marketer went on a rant - told me off, I'm still confused as to why- and ended it with "smart a**"
and hung up.

These people keep calling me from California.  They don't leave a message.

When will the Gov't do something about these telemarketers?  I have over a hundred spam phone numbers in a "do not answer" list on my phone, and it grows daily.

Same as above.  Google website not yet been claimed.  Told him we don't have a web site & he recited some garbage that 15 years ago someone had given wrong information and that it needs to be corrected.  We've had this company for 20 yrs. and run it through our home, just my husband & myself, so how is that possible I inquired?????  Creep went from salesperson to rude little jerk at which point I hung up. Sick and tired of these unsolicited, harassing phone calls!!!!!!!

Always calling my place of business, line connection was horrible.  Told them to remove my number from their calling list, time will tell!

The Federal Do Not Call division is NOT an enforcement agency. You can make complaints but the government will not authorize any action. Anything you do must be on your own and in civil court. If you win a judgment when the don't show up to court, good luck on collecting anything from them... they are scum.

Said e was Travis.  I told him not to call again.  He claimed he was going to report me to homeland security.  Told him I wish he would, because then we could find out who he is.  I hung up.  He called me back 15 times over the next three minutes.  Will email the recording to the States Atty General in Colorado and California.  If anyone wants to hear it, it is quite entertaining.  Sure wish Travis would find a real job so his mom could finally be proud of him.  But alas, she has probably given up, and for good reason.  Crawl back into your hole little boy.

I received a call from 1/562-387-1004 earlier today. The female call center rep said she was calling from Google Places to update the business listing on Google Places (on Google Maps). I declined as our Google Places (the name/business pop up over the marker pin on the map for the business) information is up to date and claimed. (They are skimming the data off Google Maps and calling based off that pop up info and that is appearing on the call center agent's screen. They will not know if the place they are calling is verified by Google or not.) When I queried the woman further she said she then wasn't in fact  working for Google but one of their partners "Cyber Center."  I let them know that Google does not require payment for these listings - I told her the person who owns the company was not available however I could answer technical related items. She transferred me to someone else as she was new (she said), and then this second person, a male, asked me if I was the owner, I said no. He was then annoyed and asked if I had purchasing authority. I said no. Shortly after as he was intending on getting me to buy their services, I ended the call as no payment is ever required to update map entries on Google Maps.

Google makes money on Ad revenue. Google Places map entries are not Ad revenue based. From first hand personal knowledge: *Google never charges for this information to be updated.*

Number NPA/NXX range for the number Cyber Center uses is owned by O1 communications who are a wholesale reseller of  VIOP numbers based in El Dorado Hills, California.

You must work for these people.  No one is going to believe your post.

Call your phone company and asked them to block this number.  Then file a complaint as listed in one of the postings above.

Do not call again.  A scam

It showed up on my caller ID as "Los Angeles Area". No message was left, & I don't answer calls where I don't recognize the number.

received call saying that they are with GOOGLE PLACES and that they needed to verify. press one to verify. onhce i pressed on the guy on the line said a quick speil on where he was from which he certainly didn't say Google. When i got onto the line they asked if i was a buisness owner so i said "yes" then they continue to ask me for money ... and since i am sure that google lists buisness for free as well as updates their addresses for free i said that i could not authorize that without some one else from our head office. he then hung up on me.

Not to mention their caller id came up as a bunch of numbers rather than Google inc.

They keep calling and calling everyday. They come by another numbers 2062580898, 7097004721, 3472270430, 6703306511. After calling from any of these numbers in a hour or so later they will call from an
unknown number. I never did answer to them.Just ignore them. They are among biggest rats on earth.
It's time for american government to clean it's country from these rats.

This is a Google website company. I usually call them back and talk to someone personally, tot put me on the do not call list, although this wasn't an option here. "Mike" wants you to claim your free Google website. That's all.

Same as those listed above.  Google Searches Website just called. They needed to talk to the "business owner" of my business website.
