Just saw their ad in the Clipper Magazine March 2012 touting energy usage reduction programs. Beware!

Aside from placing your name and telephone number on the national "Do Not Call" list, that lasts for only 5 years, here is the only legal way that you can stop telemarketers from calling you.  This is according to the Telephonic Consumer Protection Act of 1991.

When a telemarketer calls your home on an unsolicited, undesired call, you must tell the telemarketer to remove your name and number from their calling list.  The telemarketer must then terminate the sales pitch and code your telephone number for placement on the company's "do not call" list for TEN FULL YEARS from the date and time you requested removal.

The following schemes to stop telemarketing calls WILL NEVER WORK:

1.  Hanging up on the telemarketer.  The company will only call you back later.
2.  Telling the telemarketer to stop calling.  The company has the right to call you back later and will do so.
3.  Telling the telemarketer that you are not the homeowner or the card holder or the service member.  That will only get the telemarketer to call you back later at a better time.
4.  Asking for the telemarketer's home phone number so you can call the telemarketer during meal time. The telemarketer will not give you a personal phone number, will not terminate the call, and will call you back later should you hang up.
5.  Telling the telemarketer you are not interested.  Sales begins with the word "NO!"  The telemarketer will do everything to try to turn that to a "YES!," including remaining on the phone and pitching more sales.
6.  Telling the telemarketer to call back at a different time when you are not home.  The telemarketer will only call, and call, and call, repeatedly, until you are reached again.
7.  Using your answering machine or voice mail to screen your calls.  The telemarketer will only call, and call, and call, and call you repeatedly until YOU are reached.


The ONLY phrase that will legally STOP TELEMARKETING CALLS, EVER, is either "Remove my name and number from your calling list" or "Take my name and number off your calling list."  The telemarketer must then code your name and number for removal for TEN FULL YEARS.  Otherwise, the telemarketing company AND the telemarketer risk heavy fines of thousands of dollars and possible lawsuits.

Numerous repeated calls from this number, 3-4 times/day anywhere from 8AM-8PM, Monday-Friday, for about 2 weeks before I finally had a chance to answer one. Gentleman said he worked for US Energy and could provide information to determine if household was eligible for energy efficient windows. Refused to give personal information (DOB SSN) and caller said that was fine. Said they would run a credit check and call back 5-7 days to let us know if we were eligible. Told him not to bother. But we went ahead and notified all banks and credit card companies we use, and will monitor credit reports.

You can always try writing to them and then if you still have problems write to the PA. State Attorney General's Office.  Some telemarketers try to 'skirt the law' and get around the Do Not Call List by 'taking a survey'.

ENOUGH ALREADY!  TRI 570 342-6019 STOP CALLING!  We are on the DO NOT CALL LIST.  We are not interested in what you're selling.

Have been getting calls for some time now they usually ask for my husband by name,  that surprises me so I assume they have a phone book, I was told they also put phone numbers in a system that call 4 numbers a one time and the first person to answer, the others on the line have a blank, I hang up that is giveaway who is on the line, at this point I  set my answer box to 1 ring and let the box do the talking, it will ring 2 times enough to get their phone number and also I have BRC cable phone which shows who is calling on my television, so that saves me a trip to the phone, my thought is if it is so important then they will say something on the answer box and if I am on the phone should they call I don't bother answering the call waiting ID because again if it is important they will leave a message on the voicemail, no message I don't get gray over it. The DO NOT CALL LIST is a joke it seems to me to add my name and number infuriates them and then it seems they call to be a pest. TRI 570-342-6019 called at 9:48am  they just think if they call often enough they will wear you down,  I am not going to allow them to make me upset, I simply don't answer anymore, I get calls from direct buy  592-9487 2 - 3 times a day they let up for awhile, and start over in about a month, a credit service 402-982-0570, I had a unknown 570-325-4710 at 8:08 and 8:14am  yesterday morning and when my husband returned the call it is a fax so I looked it up on the internet (carbon career and technical institute) is this a new one or a wrong number?.

Yes these phone calls are annoying. They dont leave a message. And sometimes I work nights. And it is annoying to have the phone ring and no message, and u pick up the phone and no one talks. Stop calling then. If it isnt that important than knock it off, PLEASE. I am sure u would get annoyed also.

GOT ANOTHER CALL FROM TRI TODAY. WANTED PERSONAL INFO ON MY HOME. MORTGAGE PAYMENTS EVERY MONTH AMOUNT STILL OWED ON THE HOME AND INTEREST RATE ON THE LOAN. WOULDN'T GIVE ANY REAL INFO WHO THEY WERE.ASKED ABOUT A WEBSITE.CHECKED IT OUT. CLICKED ONTO A LINK AND FOUND THIS SITE. THANK GOD I DID. I called the caller ID # of 570-342-6019; got a voicemail of Donna of Telemarketing Services. Told her I was recording this call I am making to inform them to put me on the DO NOT CALL list.  I also told them I was recording this call & will take further action if I am not put on the DNC list.

I have lupus and associated chronic pain issues going to sleep and staying asleep is a major pain in the a** production. A ringing phone can literally ruin any chances I have at getting any sleep. These people from TRI have no right to call us. We're on the Do Not Call List, and we've never done business of any kind with them in the past.
I have elderly relatives to be concerned about also, and can't afford to live with the ringer turned off all day and night just to cut some pushy telemarketing firm a break.

They called me yesterday. They are at it again!

I did not recieve the call, my mother did, but she allowed two sales people to come to her home and present their BS to her about energy home improvments and a HFA loan, even if the company was legitimate and the work would actually get done it was basically coming down to $20,000 to redo a roof on a tiny home. Being that the company has no real address or even local buisness listing its unlikely anyone would have ever shown to do the roof. Another buisness Invicta finance, a loan company also lists the same address (230 Prospect)and surprise the names of the two men who visted my mother and gave her their buisness card as US Energy are listed on the voicemail for Invicta. The website for both US Energy and Invicta are a joke http://www.invictafinance.com/ and  http://usenergyeeco.org/homepage.html.....another address 547 Orchard St, Scranton is listed on the website. By the way before even knowing what the hell they were even doing at my mothers house I knew the two men were shady, simple people reading.I came in with my 3 year old daughter and newborn...they didn't even say hello,they were annoyed I was interrupting them, so close to preying on their next meal. The big one (lol) even stood directly in my way for more than a moment while I struggled with the baby carrier.

Comes up as TRI on caller ID.  Full name Telemarketing Resources Inc.  They are located at 230 Prospect Ave, Scranton, PA.  I live in Scranton, and going to their office doesn't do anything because they are telemarketers for lots of companies. Since I always got the speech that they are from US Energy, the only way I was able to get them to stop calling was to tell them I am only a tenant (which I'm not, I own my home) and ask them if they would like the name of the real estate agency I rent through.  They then hang up.

I received an unsolicited call from US Energy this week.  The representative I spoke with was very polite.  She explained the reason for the call and even though I told her I wasn't interested, she remained professional and polite.  Telemarketing is a real is a real profession where workers are trying to make an honest living.  Maybe we should cut them a break

TRI 570-342-6019, keeps calling, all times of the day.  Asks to many questions and won't answer anything you ask them.

Called an office phone, caller ID lists company as TRI. Office is on the do not call and in New York State.

CALLED TO SPEAK TO THE HOMEOWNER. SAID THAT I WAS, TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE FROM US ENERGY AND COULD HELP ME WITH WINDOWS, SIDING, ROOFING, HEATING AND ANY ADDTIONS THAT I WAS LOOKING TO PUT ON IN THE NEAR FURTURE. TOLD HER THAT I WAS NOT INTRESTED AND WANTED TO KONOW IF I HELD A MORGAE ON MY HOUSE, TOLD HER YET THAT IS WHEN SHE STARTED TO ASK A LOT OF PERSONAL INFORMATION, WHAT MY INCOME IS WHAT I PAY ON MY MORTAGE A MONTH. WHEN I ASKED HER IF SHE COULD SEND ME SOME INFORMATION ON IT SHE TOLD ME NO.

They ask to speak with the homeowner,when asked who they are they say US Energy. They ask where you live, your income, what you need to help with your home energy. When asked what the cost is, they say at little or no cost to you. Keep calling every morning. The name who called on saturday morning 11-03-07 @ 9:08am says her name was Roseanne. In one of the conversations told my son, they would have a rep come to his home, (My son is disabled) They have called every day this week.
