the txt said it was from 9099, whatever that means?  maybe another phone?  no idea........

Funny -just concluded a home loan signing with local branch of us bank - that is the name of a bank chain - got text message on the way home that "bank service frozen" - sheer coincidence but it caught my eye for sure.  Same text msg cited above received on my cell fone. Nothing to do with the loan of course or the real US Bank.

As with the previous text messages, "Call about your frozen account."
Called sprint: This is a SCAM, should not be charged for text, they say they are aware of problem, but the phone guru's can't stop it yet???? This seems to be an inside hacking job (my opinion) which is why the text comes up 9099.
anyway notified sprint and they say they are working on it.

I've gotten texts from 9099 several times in the past, essentially the same message, just using the name of a different bank.

TEXT showing up as 9099 SCAM!!!!!!!!  saying us bank service frozen please call 570-763-3989

SO how is it they can text and it shows up as 9099?
ANy way of tracking them down?

Just got it on both mine and my wife's sprintpcs phones....called the number to see if it was live, then called us bank. Seems that the text was correct, I have an issue....I don't have a us bank account...big issue ;->

I always call these and if anything picks up I contact the facility to make sure they were aware of it.

Got call from 570-763-3989, US Bank.  Don't have USB a/c.  Definitely fraud.

Got the same cell text described by "skywalker2" at 4:48 PM local time.  Called my local branch, and they were already aware of the problem for a couple of hours or so.  I advised them to try to get it on the local news stations, which are usually good about reporting such things here.  Recommend others do the same to spread awareness to people less aware of phishing.

i just go that to.  i dont think i have any business with us bank. sounds like a phishing scam
