I got a call from this number and when I picked up they hung up. I called back because this number has called my house several times and sometimes even around almost 1am! They would not pick up the phone, and when they finally did they immediately hung up. I insisted and finally got an answer from a so called "Bill Ramsey" with the local Police Department and when I asked what they needed they hung up on me....Do not take this call! It's a total SCAM! You will be so upset and annoyed at the end.

BIG SCAM They Left a message for my father, and i quote "  This is the state police, don't worry, stay calm.  Kids get in trouble sometimes.""  Then when my father called back "to see which one of us messed up this time, the sales person continued to try to con my father out of money.  Don't answer this call, you will be taken, or just pissed off

Fraternal order of police - They called saying that I had pledged money to them...did I ever receive the pledge kit?  I said no - they said that was ok they would take a credit card...I said no way...

I just received at least 4 calls from this number this evening, so I thought I'd google it and found all of your comments.

Are you kidding?  If they send you a packet, you take it to your local police department and ask to have somebody investigate them.  These people are scum and they need to be stopped.

When this guy called me claiming to be from the Prince William Police Association, I immediately asked for his supervisor.  He, of course, pretended that he was deaf.  When I explained that I've asked to be put on their internal do-not-call many times, he said they only call once a year.  When I explained that he was breaking a federal law, he laughed, wished me a nice day, and hung up.  Clearly, these people are criminals.

Also to add to my statement above, this person knew me by my first name and he knew the City I live in...it was freaky. I reported it to my local Police Department and they are keeping a close eye on this number. And as one of you stated above, this guy has called late at night and even called once while I was working and husband answered the phone, the caller asked for me by name and when my husband asked who it was he hung up on him.

I've received several calls from this number and they hang up. One of the calls came in very late at night, I decided to call back the next day and no answer. I just got a call from this number at 11:14 AM, I answered and they ask for me, I said she wasn't in would you like to leave a message, the guy said no, I said okay.  I then turn around and call the number 571-748- 4988 no answer, just tried calling again got a busy signal.

Called twice tonight- a few minutes before and a few minutes after 8:30.  I ignored the first call and googled the number.  I answered the second call- there was no one there and I was disconnected.

I just got called from this number and fell for it. They are sending a donation packet to my house.

phone rings every night at around 8:30 pm. i answer and all i get is someone trying to hang up on the other line.  it is very annoying.  today i finally did *69 to get the number and when i googled it this is what i found.

This number has called me 3 times each for the past 3 2 days.  Everytime I pick up the phone there is no one there.  My last call was close to 9pm tonight!

No Caller ID

The caller hung up as soon as my friend said hello.

Got a call from 571-748-4988.  Looked like a local call.  I answered and they hung up.  Date/time: 10/12 @10:35 am.  I'm glad I found this website and the number.

I get calls from 571-748-4988 around once a week.  The last one I got was today (10/10/2007 at 3-45 PM).  I stopped answering them.  Even after I lied and told them that I already donated this year, they STILL call.

I got a call from this yesterday, but it looks like Comcast blocks them since my phone never range and it shows as a Missed call on the Comcast Digital Phone web site.

They call my house at least once or twice a day.  No one ever leaves a message and if I pick up they hang up.  It's very annoying and someone should do something about them

Next time they call, tell them "Hold on, I have to clean up the blood and mess I left around this dead body.." Buwaaaahaaaaaaaaaa.

Received a call from Dawson at this number today stating he was from the local Loudoun County FOP chapter...lots of noise in the background.  This number called yesterday as well but no response when I answered.

Got a call from this number today and they hung-up.
