Rang once then stopped. Didn't call back.

Just received a call from 585-209-0058. It rang about 1.5 times and then stopped, didn't have time to pick it up. Looked it up though and it's a number associated with spam calling.

I just got my first call from this number. I was here at work so I couldn't answer. Never guess where I work - the IRS. He is definitely NOT from the IRS. The previous poster is correct, we send letters with phone number for taxpayers to call. We NEVER initiate phone calls.

I just received a call from this number.  I missed the call and since I did not recognize the number, I called back.  The person who answered said I won a $100 voucher so naturally I asked how this came about.  His reply was that I shopped at one of the retail stores, and then proceeded to list off some of the major ones where almost everyone would shop at at some point.
I asked him where he was from and he stated Valuepass.  He said in order to claim my voucher, I would need to provide the shipping costs of $4.95.  I found this very suspicious and told him that if I won something, I am not paying for shipping.  Upon handing up, I investigated Valuepass and found many threads posted stating this is a scam...which it completely seemed like.  Many people were posting how they were taken for $100's of dollars and charged more than $4.95.
DO NOT PROVIDE THIS COMPANY ANY CREDIT CARD OR BANKING INFORMATION!!!!!

Called and phone rang once.  Called back and recording stated "Hi this is Julie with reward redemption.  We called because you recently visited one of our affiliate websites".  hung up on them

This # rang once on my cell, then hung up. I didn't call back as don't want to be put on any "active numbers" list they may have :/

Called once, no voicemail.

Called my cell phone.  I immediately rejected the call.

I am dealing with an IRS issue, but when I called the IRS at the number on the letter I got, I asked them about local agents calling.  A local agent WILL NOT CALL YOU!!!  They may show up at your door, but they will not initiate a conversation by phone.  If someone claims to be with the IRS, verify their badge number and contact the IRS at a number listed on www.irs.gov.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone a couple of minutes ago.  Same thing -- rang once and hung up.

Called my cell and I answered, no one was there and they hung up on me.

This number keeps calling a free texting app I have. It called four times in a row today.

Interesting. I have a missed call on my cell from this number.  If his scam is to B.S. people pretending to be an agent for the IRS, then I REALLY wish that I had answered.  It would have been fun to play along............
The IRS doesn't call cell phones, it sends letters.

Same one ring and hung up. guy must be serious though he called my mother looking for "her son" never mentioned my name, never said what it was about. Figured I'd play ball with guy, called the number and he says he has my financial information from the IRS (I'm a 20 year old guy who's paid his taxes, never had any problem with IRS keep in mind) saying that I owe them 15,000 dollars and needed my SSN to set up a payment plan, guy had a thick middle eastern accent. Needless to say I hung up

Same as others - 1 ring and then hang up.  Caller ID is from my local area code.

Same here; one ring, hang up. The assumption is that it is a predictive dialer, constantly dialing numbers and hanging up if one answers.

Got the same thing - one ring and a hang-up. Called back and it was some kind of rebate card offer for a "website I recently visited".
