Claiming to be Southwest Airlines! Total Scam... also.. it's 9:00 at night! They called me 8x in a row

was from abroad because had a + in front of number, asian lady said she was from consumer company- i said not interested then she started shouting "how dare you not be interested when i haven't told you anything" i said take me off your list and don't call again the reply was no i won't take you off and i'm gonna keep calling you!! these calls need to be banned god knows where they got my mobile number from1

I received an "unknown name" on caller i.d.  A younger sounding female voice left this message "Hello...(pause)...Hello!" , then hung up!  S-C-A-M-M-E-R written all over it!

Claims that my computer ip # is sending them error messages.   Said that he could not remove my phone number from their list because of that.
LOL  That's not how things work.

I received calls from these 4 numbers in the span of 5 minutes today. I didn't pick up since I was at work. Two left mumbled messages, the other two left no message. I figure they are all part of the same scam because only my family calls my cell number.

Received a call saying they were from Microsoft and needed to fix something on my computer. I started to ask them questions because I knew it was a hoax... especially since the person could hardly speak proper English.  I hung up because there is no way I would let them have access to my computer.

Yep totally a scam... started to give them a hard time and then hung up. they then called back from 718-822-9084. I gave her a hard time then she started to curse me out with the F word....definitely not Microsoft agents.....

I am getting a call from the +15852439807 once in a weak, but I am not lifting the call, I think there is some fake call.

The same thing happened to me and they showed me the errors they i"m pretty sure they want you to verify your Microsoft id for them. dont let this happen

Instead of using Microsoft and claiming a computer error, they are now saying ur DEBIT CARD has been locked with an automated voice then asks for you to press 1 to speak with someone to unlock it. I reported it to my bank ?

Received a call from this number this evening.  Thick indian accent and said his name was Tom.  I thought that was funny.  He said his company name was Support Plaza and that I could look up the website so I could see that this wasn't a scam.  The website he gave me was www.supportplaza.com.  He said that we had infected files on our computer and that he could fix it.  I told him that we just had a technician look at our computer and everything checked out ok.  He told him that the techician wouldn't be able to detect the problem and that only he could fix it.  

I just received a call exactly like this with a person using a fake indian accent....how do I know it was fake....me and my sister use to prank each other with fake indian accents and now we just like mess with one another and see how far we can take it....they said the same thing and wanted to speak with the main user of my computer....when I asked why they were calling from a pay phone I got nothing but silence lol....my advice to these little imagination hillbillies....It's the 21st century people...Caller ID is no longer an alien word.

Just got a call from this number, i'm in Malaysia and I don't know anyone in New York. Glad I didn't pick and found this site. I read from another site its from some call center in India and they route their number through a NY proxy to mask their original number. Again something about a computer virus.

Same story, three different numbers, one of which I have not seen identified here, which has one more than the normal number of digits. Same lame story about my computer being very bad, and downloading viruses and he needed to walk me through it. I told him I knew he could not be calling from Microsoft and that my computer was just fine. However that has not deterred them from calling at 2:00 a.m. at 5 a.m. and at about 10:00 a.m. and 3 p.m. I'm glad to see that someone is noticing these a__holes. First time I googled this number there were exactly 0 hits. I too would like to know how to stop these calls. By the way, mine are coming to my land line but mostly to my cell phone.

Same story different number. This has to be my tenth call in a month. I'm now not answering the phone for numbers I don't recognize and FINALLY convinced my husband to do the same. But I'm with several others, Why can't Microsoft do something to stop these people? We have an unlisted number and I don't understand how they got it. They are even calling my husbands cell now! It is just so annoying!

I called him SOB and hanged on.

so i knew it was a scam to start off with when he was claiming to be from windows (i have a mac).

my phone reads this number as a payphone.

i know that comcast sold my number because i got my phone recently and gave my number to no one and the phone book already had been printed for this year.


basically i said hello over and over and then he was like you cannot hear me? then i said hello then he kept saying i love you. i tried really hard to not laugh but then my girl kept screaming hello back and forth till we weirded him out.

Stupid male person from busy call center,,, is still trying to tell me the story about my virus infected computer.  He just hung up when I told him I do not have a computer.

I got the 001 585 2439807 number on my list of missed calls too. I kind of wondered what it was. I'm glad to read these posts so I know what to expect. In Holland there is a telecommunication's law that forbids (boiler-room) companies to call you without an  'opt-in' - so without  your consent they are not allowed to contact you. It works like a charm.

I just received at call from 585 as well saying they were Microsoft!!!!  I never answer those calls so I am not sure why I did.  Anyway, I hung up on them, I can't believe Microsoft is not trying to put a stop to this!

The responder say just "Goodbye"... with a robot'women voice.

Yet another to receive a call from this number, but my call didn't last more than a couple of seconds. I played dumb and said "Oh my! How can my computer do that when it isn't even on?" It was on and he was too stumped to stay on the line apparently, because he hung up so fast his head must have been spinning. Now, here is what I would like to know... to whom can we report these calls so that someone of authority can come down on them?

It never even dawned on me in that split second that he would ask me for a credit card number; I only thought SCAM! BEWARE! LIE TO HIM FAST! LOL, I didn't expect him to hang up either... I thought that he would tell me to turn the computer on, and that he'd ask for permission to remotely control my computer. I tried to call back to the number before I Googled it but NO answer, of course! I called back to the number and there was no answer.  

THEN, I went to throw some laundry in and my phone rang. I'm handicapped and I TRY to remember to bring a phone with me when I am at the other end of my house, but I forgot so I hurried as I was expecting a call and I didn't want it to go to voicemail... ANOTHER guy with a thick Indian accent, from the same area code (585) but different number. TWICE in one day?!?!?!? Should I feel honored? LOL. This time I decided to play along but something must have been flagged on my phone number that he didn't see initially because as soon as I started to play along, he hung up on me. And, I was doing SO good too! LOL.

The next thing that I am going to do is call my town's radio station and tell them to air this for a few days and also put it on their web site. My town is probably half retirees who could be easily scammed and I really don't want to see that happen to anyone when I know I can do something about it. The least I can do is try to warn residents of my town and surrounding area. If anyone knows of anymore I can do, please tell me as I want to report them wherever I can.

I got this call and an Indian woman asked me to get in front of my computer that she was from the Microsoft technical department. I told the lady I was on my computer contacting microsoft to find out if they make soliciting calls, she hung up on me immediately.

got a call from some jerk named 'Rafe" this morn said my computer was downloading virsus and we needed to take care of it...I told him he was ;nuts; and hugn up.  what a jerk  Thank u for caring

Indian accent ... very rude, and stupid to think we would fall for this!

same here .... he asked my husband to put his finger on a specific key and to keep it pressed down.  My husband said he was complying, but in return asked if he could take HIS finger and shove it you know where until it came out of his mouth!    the Indian guy then called him a motherf....er and hung up.   Sounds like he is getting a handle on the vernacular!!

Guy with indian accent called and asked for my name.  I asked him who he wanted to speak to and  I asked him his name- he hung up.
