This guy lance Stockton calls and threatens me saying he's gonna have my registration and license suspended contact my payroll department put levy on my opened accounts these people have been bothering me for almost a year.have they done anything to you or are they all talk

Lance Stockton calls me every few day also, stating the same information and he said, "You WILL call me today."  Very rude.  I did have a payday loan bounce about 5 years ago and I paid it off.  After reading the posts here, I wonder if it's just a scam.

It's also illegal for debt collectors to falsely represent themselves or to give false information regarding a debt that they are trying to collect.  They also cannot threaten you in any way.  I would think telling someone that their vehicle registration and license is or will be suspended and that they will have an arrest warrant issued against them would definiately fall under that latter category.  The only agency that could do that would be a government agency but as far as I know PA definitely will not do that for a payday loan, which as Christopher mentions, is illegal in this State.

I received a couple of calls from this joker too.  I ignore the calls, but at least five times a day I call him, sit silent for a few seconds and then hang up.  

If it's the same agency, I read that Check Systems Recovery LLC based in Buffalo, NY, which is actually the name of the agency that he works for, was fined by NY State.  This is probably one of those companies that either buy old debts (zombie debt) or purchased your information from some site that you may have visited in the past.

Don't let him fool you.  He does not work for ChexSystems which is the agency that reports on checking accounts and is based in Minnessota.

Scam call

I got a call sent to my home this morning, my cellphone this morning and also my job workplace this morning , from this scumbag scammer saying it is in regards to a checking account activity.
That sounded fishy so I usually do NOT pick up, but after they called the job I was furious. I was looking for blood.

I called the number and the guy that answered is Lance Stockton and apparently a pay day loan back in 2011 tried to debit my account during repayment and it went into the negative and it bounced back. I have done business with the payday loan company and it was paid off not long after it bounced since we called the loan company and paid them the money a few days later. Apparently they filed for fraudulent pay and CLOSED the case even before paying the rest of the balance off, ALSO saying I was issued a court summons. He tried to sound professional but he ended up being a prick. He first was sarcastic saying the he was surprised i didn't get the paper already and he said that I NEED to be in court WITH an attorney and I CAN NOT represent myself. He also said that they were going to FREEZE my 1099 which is TOTAL crap you cannot do that and also that my state registration, license and car title was suspended and there is a warrant out for my arrest. I told him that I can't afford a lawyer and I paid off that debt shortly after the payday loan company called me about the bounce. He said that HIS company DOES NOT deal with the bank or the payday loan directly.
I told him if he doesn't they why would his company summon me to court in regards to those charges.
I also said HE better get me a LAWYER too since he is suuing me for money I already paid off and I will sue him back for harrassment. He then became ruder and more like a ghetto thug saying that I BETTER show up in court or the other option is to pay them.

Right before I hung up I told him I HOPE HE DIES and his company goes under like the scamming pigs they are.

After the call I contacted the PA attorney general and asked what to do pertaining to this threat and harassment over a completed and closed payment. The service representative told me I was a victim of a scam, and to keep track of my credit reports and 99% of the time they are ALL talk NO walk so they will never send a court document paper and if they do make sure you get it checked out by someone to ensure it isn't a counterfeit. Also let your manager or supervisor or HR department know that I was a victim of scammers and to ensure that any more personal information does NOT get leaked out.

Also Payday loans are ILLEGAL in the State of PA  because it of the exorbitant interest rates, if you borrow $100.00 you have to pay back after interest $400.00

These guys are something else, threatening to take me to court over a supposed payday loan. Said they will contact my employer and summons me to court if I don't settle. The new number they are using is 5853516133. Just giving heads up
